Pro Pundits - Az

Who are the best FPL assets to buy from Aston Villa?

Az dedicates his latest Pro Pundits column to the in-form Villans as he looks at the best defensive and attacking options from Dean Smith’s side.

Taking a break from looking at my own Fantasy Premier League team’s progress, I put the question out to you guys with the aim of finding out who people would be interested in reading about.

Not surprisingly, the favoured team to scrutinise was the only one in the top leagues of Europe to have won every match this year, the mighty Aston Villa.

Defensive numbers (first four Gameweeks)

hmm my editor has sorted by all matches it seems, whereas I was looking at last 4 (as obviously Villa have played a game less).

    A. Sterling>Salah
    B. Sterling>Mane
    C. Save FT

    Many thanks for your help!

I'm in the same position. Really leaning towards sterling to Salah. Prefer Mané but can't ignore pens.
Also, might do Jimmy to kun (-4)

Sounds good - Aguero a real punt at this stage but could be fun

Anyone else looking at buying Adams for a differential? He's down to 1.6% owned now. I saw somewhere he was in the top 5 for non-penalty xG.

Not for me. He's not a particular good finisher. On the contrary, he appears to be remarkably adept at shooting wide open shots directly at the keeper. So high xG doesn't necessarily translate to goals.

    Play 1;

    A) Brewster - away to Liverpool
    B) Bissouma - home to West Brom
    C) Justin - away to Arsenal

    Cheers.

I think C -- surprisingly Arsenal now seem to be a team you can imagine being involved in a 0-0, and he has attacking threat even if he concedes.

Bissouma. I think Brighton will dominate possession with West Brom sitting deep. Bissouma should get plenty of opportunities to take shots from outside the box.

    RMT for the midweek crowd

    Martinez / Forster
    TAA / Saiss / Lamptey / (RJames / Mitchell)
    Salah (c) / Son / JamRod / Foden / Podence
    Jimenez / DCL / Brewster

    4.5 ITB

Jim to Kane, Pod to Grealish, neither, both for -4, or alternatives? Would be open to differentials (Trossard maybe) or wild suggestions e.g. Jim + Pod to Mane (c) + Maupay -4.

    Cheers all

Jim to Kane is the best and obvious option imo. Though the wild suggestion has merit with Liverpool's fixtures

      GTG, -8 not worth it

  9. Klaren

    A. Wood to Watkins
    B. Save and do Jimenez to Kane next GW

B would mean I have to endure the pain of owning Wood for 2 more GWs or starting Mitchell instead of Wood and hoping he plays.

    Any thoughts?

Price rises these season are killing me. Had 0.3/0.4? ITB early in the weekend to have exact funds to do Podence > Grealish & Barnes > Rodriguez

Can still do the moves but there's now 0 ITB left and Podence has a decent likelyhood of falling before the weekend. Do I just sit it out till Friday or move now?

Great article, I currently have the triple up of Martinez, Grealish and Watkins. Was disappointed with Watkins this week though, may get rid for Adams or Mitrovic after gw6 if he doesn't give me reason to hold onto him.
