Which FPL players are on international duty and when ahead of Gameweek 9

The final international break of the calendar year is underway, with over 200 Premier League players in action for their nations over the next week.

Some international sides are again cramming in a triple-header of games over this period and, as was the case in September and October, a handful of Fantasy assets will be taking part in all three of their respective countries’ matches.

Fatigue is certainly a concern ahead of Gameweek 9, then, be it through on-field exertions on the continent or due to long-haul flights back from further afield.

As was the case last month, a host of European teams – including England – are scheduled to contest UEFA Nations League games on Wednesday evening.

Gameweek 9 begins less than 72 hours after these matches have been played, with Newcastle United v Chelsea the Saturday lunchtime kick-off.

The main concern might be the number of World Cup qualifiers held in South America, however.

The likes of James Rodriguez (£7.9m), Richarlison (£7.8m), Roberto Firmino (£9.2m), Thiago Silva (£5.5m) and Alex Telles (£5.5m) will have to endure long-distance flights back from their respective countries after being in action late on Tuesday night or in the early hours of Wednesday morning (UK time).

After the international break in October, Rodriguez, Richarlison and Firmino all started their clubs’ Gameweek 5 fixture (the early-afternoon Merseyside derby) but Thiago was rested by Chelsea.

Players such as Sadio Mane (£12.0m), Mohamed Salah (£12.4m) and Riyad Mahrez (£8.3m) are all in African Cup of Nations qualifying duty over the coming days, meanwhile.

The likes of Raul Jimenez (£8.4m) and Son Heung-min (£9.6m) have an easier ride, however, with Mexico and South Korea among the teams in friendly action in Europe.

The rest of this article is dedicated to a club-by-club rundown on which assets will be away from their Premier League sides over the next week, also detailing the dates in which these players will be competing for their respective countries.

I think it's possible fplstats doesn't know or isn't able to factor in WC transfers, which appear to not impact price changes, or at least not as much as non-WC transfers

It's amazing people get angry about sites which try to offer a service, yet lap up other sites intended to spread foundation less lies and rumours for political purposes.

Also, why are so many people pumping Salah’s tires as a captain choice this GW?

Leicester have been tight at the back this season, and Salah has only averaged 0.5 goals and 0 assists vs Leicester in his career.

    A) Maupay + Son -> Watkins + Fernandes -4
    B) Maupay + Saiss -> Watkins + Kilman/ Lewis -4 (Son to KDB next)
    C) Maupay -> Watkins (Kane + Son -> KDB + Vardy -4 next)

    Leaning towards A or C.

    Team:
    Martinez
    Robertson Chilwell Lamptey
    Salah Son* Ziyech Grealish
    Kane DCL Maupay*

Vardy's fixtures after the next GW are FUL (H), SHU (a) and BRI (H). He also doesn't seem to be on peoples radar, as they all have money invested in DCL, and a team structure with another cheaper striker and Brewster. Getting him in for those few weeks without using up my wildcard is what I'm going to grappling with over next week. Intend Cancelo and KDB or Sterling to be City coverage, and might sort all this out downgrading Salah, with Lpools current woes.

My experience of cheerfully picking either of them the last couple of years has consisted of injuries, yellow cards, early substitutions and wondering if they've had a body double playing pending attempted assassination attempts by people who have just brought them in. Rich however has had a nice rest after his barmy red card, so is likely to be fitter and would be my preference if screaming on the rack.

Richarlison is useless if Siggy plays as he will steal his penalties, like Hames is useless as well as he will also steal his free kicks and corners.

Everton got one penalty in the whole of last season. They’ve had one penalty this season. It’s not a massive consideration. Richarlison is far from useless.

I keep reminding people of this fact but no one seems to listen. Glad someone else noticed this.
          We don’t get many penalties.
Plus Siggy won’t play every week. He really is bad now. No creative passes at all and no speed.

Number of penalties gotten last season has nothing to do with this season. With lots of jammy penalties through and dumb hand balls, plus everton have got wingers now compared to last season. Leicester already got more this season than last. It's gonna hurt when they win 1-0 with Siggy scoring the winning penalty and you left wondering what might have been.

DCL captain is brave but could pay off big time.

Richarlison back is massive imo. Just depends how much confidence has been drained from those 3 defeats.
Looks like Coleman may be out again. That’s not good.
I hope Delph plays alongside Allan and Doucoure instead of Siggy or Gomes.
Fulham,Leeds Burnley look great on paper for goals. Shame I only have Coleman who will soon be Cancelo.

He's a good player no doubt about that, just not so good in fpl terms. There're also a lot of cheaper options who would outscore him. Hames also not a good fpl player as he always assists the assistor. Right now the only everton attacker worth getting is DCL.

Thanks mate. Even if I get Cresswell, I will still have some left itb. Enough to go up to 4.6 (maybe around 4.5 by that time). I like Coufal too. Thought Cresswell might be better.

No need. Might need to sort out the bench. Who are they on it?
Please help me with my team above.

I am itching to make these transfers for a -8 hit. Let me know if it’s crazy!

    Watkins For Jimmy
    N.Williams for TAA
    Fernandes for Burke

    Martinez
    Lamptey chillwell TAA*
    Son salah grealish podence

Neco for Trento is crazy, other moves are fine. If you change Podence instead of Burke, I am sure you can afford a Man City or atleast a WHM defender?

Fair enough. Podence is great value and playing OOP. Burke totally dead weight. Reckon neco won’t start or is Phillips best for Liv def

I would look elsewhere tbh. Robertson is the only Liverpool defender worth considering, even he might struggle to provide value if things continue like this. Plus their is no guarantee of Neco/Philips starting.

          Wouldn't touch Liv defense

        Would this be worth -8

May not instantly payback but worth it in long run.

I’ve created a transfer strategy to not use over the next few weeks, will captain all incomings

    Gw10 Kane > vardy v Fulham home
Gw 11 salah > Kdb v Fulham home
Gw 12 kdb > salah v Fulham away
Gw 13 salah > kdb V West Brom home

Yeah... that’s why I said I’ll likely not use it, but all being well I will, happy with most of the rest of my team

Did you get the 100 points at the weekend that you were pretty much guaranteed ?
