In a gameweek with not too many obvious captain choices, would a cheeky punt on Bamford be so crazy against a potentially leaky Everton side?

I guess with Vardy, KDB, Bruno, Salah, DCL, Sterling and some others probably ive missed as options its not a bad week to risk a punt. That said i would rather capt any of the ones i mentioned over Bamford

J Rod to KDB is planned move. Any one hate this/ see anything better?

    Martinez
    Chilwell James Cancelo
Salah Son J Rod Soucek Grealish
    Werner DCL

Forster Brewster Dallas Brantwaite 1FT 4.4M ITB

Werner to Vardy prices me out of Jrod to KDB later

I also have Soucek and Brewster. For some reason I want to switch to a 343 and upgrade Brew to Bamford. I'd keep Werner since he's due some pk's. I'd save the ft or -4 for upgrading J Rod next week

Really tossing up between a few options. Am I crazy for thinking Son to KdB?

    A) Son -> KdB (/Sterling)

    C) Hold.

Starting XI: Martinez, Targett, Zouma, Cresswell, Salah, Son, Podence, J Rod, DCL, Vardy, Kane.

Need to improve defence and Podence (J rod soon)

B for me. Wouldn't lose Son on current form despite the fixtures. If anything, he seems like the ideal choice against more attacking teams that might leave space in behind (as happened vs City).

Yeah, one thing I have learnt over the years - form always over fixtures.

Yeah, been learning that the hard way. Patience and minimising hits has helped me this season. Had a mare of a start but climbed from 3.8m to 385k over the last 7 GWs. I trust Son and Kane to continue delivering. If they don't and other players like the City mids start to haul then I'll obvs reassess.

Hi everyone, would really appreciate your thoughts. Do I:

    A) hold and reassess next week (no city coverage)

    B) Targett to Dias for -4 now, roll next week and then Vardy/Jrod > Salah/Watkins for GW12

    C) Jrod to KDB for -4 now, hold until I come off Vardy to move anyone else (immediate City coverage, limits options in coming weeks)

    Martinez
    Robbo Zouma Targett Kilman
    Son Bruno Jrod
    Vardy DCL Adams
    (4.0 Soucek Barkley* Lamptey*)

B would be my move this week but not for a -4. So A I think. Give yourself time to assess based on more data. Your team looks fine for this week. Good luck!

I’d be swayed to just do C. Can see why people say keep JRod for this Leeds match but KDB is THE city man, just feel like we need to take all the advantage we can get out of him for these games to come. Failing that, I think A is a sensible option, but like i say, I have to attack with KDB.

Don't fancy the idea of selling Kane (even if I didn't have other fires to put out), but I took a look at some previous clashes between Chelsea and Spurs.
Kane and Son actually have a pretty poor record against Chelsea. Is this something you guys consider, or only a current form?

Also, KDB has poor record against Burnley and Salah scores regularly against Brighton.

    1. Salah’s Sonnet
      • 12 Years
      3 years, 4 months ago

But would you captain Kane in these games to come?

Burnley are without Pope and City will surely have a rocket up their a$$ now to take advantage of these games and get back to some form.
Salah is Salah I guess, but looked rusty on his run out, prefer KDB to hike over the next two for sure.

      1. Mile Plankton
        • 11 Years

No, defo not capping Kane for Chelsea. For Arsenal I would, but City plays Fulham that week. So I can justify selling Kane for a short term.

          • 12 Years

Ahh ok, well there’s a good answer in itself then, it’s the advantage of capping brought in over Kane that wins it I feel. Short term I see no problem with it, quite the brutal run Spurs have.

Hey guys, really can't decide if I should stick with this team or take a -4 to bring in one of Vardy/KDB/Salah. With this team will have to either captain Bruno or DCL.

    Martinez 4.0
    Lamptey PVA Mitchell Robbo Chilwell
    Grealish Son Bruno Jota 4.5
    Kane DCL Bamford

3.6 ITB, no FT left. What do you suggest?

    Cheers

It’s times like this that I fall into overthinking too much reading so many options on here, albeit they are good, but I’m just keeping it simple like i bloody used to and performed better, Kane > Vardy (c) and keep Son, and Rashford to KDB, sorted. Will leave a starting 11 of:

    Martinez
    James - Cancelo - Chillwell
Soucek - KDB (vc) - Bruno - Ziyech - Son
    DCL - Vardy (c)

    1. FPL Theorist

Not if you rotate the 4.5 defenders into your XI some of the time. If they are permanently benched, then it seems excessive.

This season probably not. I’ve seen so many benches this week where 2/3 players are injured or suspended, I think it’s probably wise to make sure you have actual playing cover.

    3. Wılly
      • 10 Years
      3 years, 4 months ago

It's potentially 1.5m that you could invest into another player, depends how often you need your bench

    4. Bojam
      • 6 Years
      3 years, 4 months ago

Depends on your team value. If you've caught lots of rises and have a decent team value then investing a bit more in your bench seems fine to me. I've got Soucek and Lamptey on the bench most of the time and plan to upgrade Mitchell this week to a City defender (meaning that Coufal will be benched). I'm happy with my starting 11 and will still have money ITB to upgrade. Team value is currently 103.8m.

    Martinez
    Chilwell Dallas Lewis (Lamptey Branthwaite)
    (K)DB Sterling Salah Son Jota

I know. I know. It is safer as well carrying over 2 transfers. Salah is in a little sweet spot where not everyone has him for once. It draws me. As an Everton fan could also see Bamford scoring. Rodriguez has to go at some point so could always double up.

As an Everton fan, are you not impressed by Rodriguez as a fantasy asset? Or just think that there are better options (especially with your fixtures getting more difficult soon)?

He's a decent asset, could well score points on the weekend. But fixtures are turning soon and don't want two everton attackers.

He struggled without Coleman behind him and Richarlison missing.

Playing centrally now if Iwobi stays on RWB. Could lead to more shots from outside the area. Always capable of assists from corners with DCL and Keane in the middle as long as Siggurdsson stays off the pitch.

Might do better against Burnley than Leeds. Leeds will take it to us and Burnley might sit back and let us play.

James seems better when we're allowed to dictate play. He can't grab the game by the scruff of the neck unfortunately

Food for thought. I'm inclined to be more cautious this season as I've scored some massive green arrows in recent weeks without making major moves. Patience has generally paid off. So maybe he stays for the next 2 and then reassess. Cheers.

Personally don't fancy J Rod heading into December. Next 2 GWs look grand but then the games come frequently, the opposition stiffens, the weather gets colder... not a good recipe for him.

Need help here please! This is my team after taking a -4pt hit. I have 2.6m in bank. I don't really like Bruno as captain, would much rather KDB / Salah ... is Son > KDB/Salah worth another -4pt hit? I haven't taken an -8pt hit in a while but it seems like it could be worth it based on Man City fixtures...what you guys think? THANKS

    Dias Chilwell Cresswell (Lamptey Mitchell)

Captain KDB or Salah to make it worth it but be at peace with the fact that Son could explode.

I fancy the pace and power of James + Zouma should handle Son though, Chelsea don’t play the suicidal highline that City do either.

    A) Bissouma + Kane > KDB + 4.5 (-4)

    B) JRod + Kane > KDB + Wilson (-4)

    C) Cresswell > Cancelo/Dias

I’ll be getting KDB and Cancelo/Dias in and taking the -4 regardless over the next two GW but which one do I target for this game week? Almost guaranteed clean sheet vs hoping for a KDB explosion.

I'm looking to move Bruno after this GW. Would probably get rid this week, but I have Zaha to sort out.
But Son looks like a keeper even through this tough schedule. Still, it could pay off. KDB and Salah are the top shelf.

Asked this last night but hoping to get a few more opinions if poss.

    Team for this week is:

    Martinez (Forster)
    Robbo, Chilwell, Coufal (Lamptey, Mitchell)
    Bruno, Son, Rodriguez, Grealish (Soucek)
    Kane, DCL, Watkins

    2FT; 2.6m ITB

Don't like the fact that West Ham play Villa and I have two Villa attackers versus Coufal. Also don't have any City. Happy to wait a week on City attackers so thinking Mitchell > Dias/Cancelo. And roll the other FT for next week.

Next week probably look to upgrade Rodriguez to KDB or Salah.

    All input welcome!

Yeah tough week for a decision. I feel like City are certain for a cleansheet so I like the Dias move.

Are you planning to keep both Son and Kane? If not which one would you want to get rid of?

      1. Bojam
        • 6 Years

Happy to keep both if they keep delivering (being the highest scoring pair in the game right now). Could drop Kane to say Bamford and hulk the midfield. Or switch Son to one the City/Pool mids. But need to be convinced. So wait and get more data? Might miss a haul but can live with that. Don't want to sell Son or Kane and get bitten (as many people have already this season when shipping Son before a haul).

So Dias in seems sensible for free this week? And reassess next week?

Yeah the moves I'd consider would be:

          A) Mitchell to Dias

          B) Son to KDB

Or I know you won't like this one but you always got to have maverick play

          C) Kane + Soukek to Brewster + KDB/Salah and play 3-5-2

A lot of your players could all score well which is the problem but also not a problem. It's a problem in a way that every move feels a bit sideways and risky.

I suppose you want more data on Spurs so not b or c. Even if you don't want to keep both more data will help you decide which one you want to ship

That's the thing. I'm sideways averse. The Fulham game for City seems a better bet than the Burnley game (though City's record vs Burnley is admittedly quite terrifying). Also, with so many managers jumping off Spurs attackers it kind of feels like a differential to not do that this week. Not too keen on the 3-5-2 because of the many decent options for cheap 6m-ish forwards this season. But could just go Son -> KDB. Guess I'll think on it somre more. Appreciate your help mate!

Man the opposite was for me. Like a few gameweeks ago the only striker I wanted for Maupay was Antonio then he got injured while every flocked to Bamford I switched to Zaha for the fixtures.

Ironically though I'm about to swap Kane to Bamford and Zaha to Salah after everything

Those seem like sound moves. Salah is probably the one I don't own that "scares" me the most. Had him until last week when I switched to Bruno (C). That worked out but now I don't know what my best route back is. Could just reverse the transfer but Bruno keeps delivering despite the fact the Utd are so unpredictable and often - this season - just awful.

What's your full team out of interest?

                  Martinez
                  Robertson - Semedo - Dallas
De Bruyne - Son - Rodriguez - Zaha* - Grealish
                  Kane - DCL
                  (Peacock-Farrell) (Brewster, Mitchell, Lamptey)

                  2 FT 0.7 ITB

Definitely wouldn't take out Fernandes if I had him. One of the reasons I opted for KDB for Salah last week and captained DCL instead. If I got Fernandes I'd have to keep which isn't a bad thing but I rather have KDB and Salah.

The plan was Salah to KDB then this week was Semedo to a City defender this week then Rodriguez /Kane to some striker and Rodriguez to Salah the next but Zaha forced my hand early so I could get Salah in this week

You made your transfers already? If not, have you considered sticking to the original plan and playing Brewster this week? I mean, if he's going to rack up a score in any game you'd think this might be the one. Semedo -> Dias/Cancelo looks a solid move to me this week and buys time. Salah away to Brighton could be good (he braced last season I think) but he tends to be better at home. And Kane vs Chelsea... he like a London derby. Same goes for next week vs Arsenal.

Haven't made the transfers I don't like holding flagged players. More flags could appear next week. I have no belief in Brewster tbh. Sheffield United don't seem to have any attacking threat to supply him. I'd also have no bench besides the GK Peacock-Farrell of all players.

I'd consider Zaha to Jota for the security of having 2 FTs next week.

Also Arsenal can't score anyway could easily be a 0-0 game against Wolves

Reckon you're right. Either Zaha -> Jota (as that could pay off this week and allow more major moves next week) or Kane -> Bamford, Zaha -> Salah (for the longer-term) seem sensible in your position. I suspect Zaha would be back next week but not think there are better options for that slot anyway. Jota does look like amazing value. Have been tempted!

Who'd you downgrade to get KdB or Salah for James?

Mitchell to Coufal/Dias will take 1.5m off your bank, leaving with 1.1m.

If you do Lamptey to either, you can go from Son to KdB straight imo. Salah still looks out of reach unless you lose Bruno.

      1. Bojam

Rodriguez to KDB/Salah would entail a downgrade somewhere but I can postpone that to next week with 2 FT available. Have considered Lamptey rather than Mitchell and it might be the way to go. Does allow more flexibility for sure. Might be nice to have a full playing bench over the crazy Dec/Jan period though. Either way, I would still need two transfers to go Son -> KDB. Unless I just do it straight this week with no defensive upgrade.

    Martinez
    Justin - Cancelo - PVA
    Mane - Ziyech - KDB - Bruno - Grealish
    DCL - Watkins
(Foster - James - Neco Williams - Brewster)

Looking for that double up on city attack and the firing Jota.
