Anyone(!) still holding on to Drogba that is considering getting rid for cheaper forward and getting Lamps when fit?
I'm undecided whether to give Drogba until the jan wildcard to get some big scores or swap to Odemwingie and get fab or lamps, will wait and see how they all play out next week or two I guess

Can't bring myself to sell him. Will keep him till WC time then re-evaluate. Form is temporary and all that. The other angle is that the more people that sell him the more he becomes a differential.
He's been on my list to be sold for a while, but I've had more pressing transfers. At least he was playing 90 minutes and on pens etc so he wasn't the highest priority. He seems to be getting his fitness back as well, so I might just keep him.
With Lamps back he will prob stop taking peno's. Did he not take some corners recently as well?

Yeah true, but didn't Lampard miss the last 3 or so? Drogba was supposed to be a season keeper for me, when fit I don't think Torres or Rooney would outscore him.
I have no idea what to do this week. I'm thinking of just letting it play out and swap Toure to Kolarov next week and upgrade Elmander to RVP/Balotelli next week or maybe even Torres with an extra transfer. Nobody I like has a good game this GW.

Last time i had a good feeling about him was vs Pompey last year when he scored 3. Should have captained him that day.
I think in the long run he will be and now seems like as sensible time as ever to bring him in, what with the turmoil at Newcastle and Pool starting to find their feet. Drogba hasn't been justifying his price tag recently and if the fixtures are anything to go by that's not about to change.
Problem is I also have ACole(my worst trsfr this season)
I can see Chelsea scoring and conceding this weekend so it makes it difficult.

I'd go Drogba this week if I were you, purely because you've got pretty good defensive options. Where as you've got Tevez out, Carrol with a tricky fixture and of course Dider.
One thing you might consider - a few others on here are doing it. Tevez OUT Torres IN then next week Drogba OUT Teves IN. I'll say off the bat, it's not a plan I'd go for but some are convinced it's the way forward.
The last team that did was....wait for it...Chelsea.
Chelsea have their fullstrength midfield, it makes a huge difference, they're going to get good

if nasri plays in his right forward position then fletcher can't mark him. you really need evra to be fit or nasri could destroy you from the right. the way fabio didn't react to pablo hernandez' run last night after carrick's mistake was worrying

it was bizarre wasnt it, but carrick was more at fault...after making the mistake, he ran for 30 yards, semi-pace, without even glancing to his right. He's the major cabbage in that team. He then realised there was a player there, and kept running stragiht for the goal!! instead of even TRYING to put the guy off by angling towards him. How that guy is still getting games baffles me.

In the newcastle game, I knew we were going to lose after 5 minutes. Some teams just fit perfectly into stopping us, so it depends. I really can't pick a winner but I know Arsenal have it in them and we could win well.

United have never come up against Nasri as the player he has become this season so previous comparisons do not mean that much. The same can be directed at Nani as well. Both have never been certain starters and always previously lived in the shadow of other players. Both now represent the fulcrum of creativity at both teams.

Actually at the start of the season lampard was playing deeper than Essien iirc. People were taking note of the fact Essien was playing further up and making more bursts into the box than he used to?
I agree that Chelsea's bad trot can't last forever, and their fixtures improve in a couple of weeks. But I am struggling to justify paying premium prices for any of their regular starters at the moment - except, possibly, Essien (hence my question)...

For those asking the question of who Foster rotates with?
- Would you have picked him at home to West Ham or away at West Brom?
- Would you have picked him away at Manchester City or at home to Chelsea?
If the answer to the first question is yes and the second no, trying to find someone to rotate him with is pointless. If you've got him, play him all the time.
I've come round to this idea, been rotating jaask and him all season, and playing the fixtures just isn't working out. When i wildcard i'm gonna downgrade Foster to someone very cheap to free up some funds i think.

Looking at your team (great rank by the way), it's difficult to tell what you mean here. Who are you planning to get rid of? I like the idea of getting Torres in and I assume you would hang onto Tevez. If not, I think it's a mistake.
If you list the planned transfers (and I think four weeks ahead is probably too far to be thinking anyway), it'd make it easier to judge.

bigger goal and bp threat. however i suspect kyrgiakos will be like samba and all the attention he gets on set pieces will leave players like skrtel with a bit more space at times (nelsen in samba's case). skrtel has played 90 mins in every game this season, i'd go for him for that reason

having just read a thread about him on the liverpool forum im very tempted with ngog next week. they all think he is a certain starter and on verge of a french call up
they love him on that forum. apparently he's in great form at the moment. i guess they ignored the 11 appearnaces without a goal before the villa game

not bad considering his age and that hes often been played as the lone man in a 451
I think he could be a real snip now. There is a risk he will make way for gerrard though, especially on the road, but Woy clearly prefers a natural 4-4-2 shape and I reckon would much prefer Gerrard at the hub of midfield. I guess Lucas makes way.

Kuyt may well join Torres up top when Gerrard's back. I would be wary of purchasing N'Gog because he's one of those players who could come on as sub late on in a game and get you one point - too frustrating.

Don't you have a bit too much invested in your front line? That's fine for this week with Tevez out but there are better options than a non-firing Drogba and a Torres who isn't exactly reliable. Your midfield will also have plenty of low scoring weeks.
I'd improve the midfield (maybe not straight away) and downgrade one of your strikers. There's plenty of value around the 5-6 million mark which would give you a lot to play with.
I have gone for the heavy front line purely so I dont have to think about those transfers anymore! I have the heavy midfeild a month or so ago but wasnt very clever with the players re fixtures. My thinking until next wc is to bring in Kyriakos, thus doubling up on liverpool defence, which would leave me with playing 3 in midfield.
