As Mark alluded to last week, our Members Area is now on the verge of offering new analytical tools which allow you the option of selecting a specific Gameweek or range of Gameweeks when checking out the statistics.

With this in mind, we’ve looked back at Gameweek 16 to highlight some of the stand-out performers to ascertain a possible link between their OPTA Stats and the subsequent awarding of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Bonus Points…..

The trouble is Chelsea players are not cheap, most are rotation risks and Lampard has been out so long it may be January before he is back to his best - and his price may reflect former glories.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lamp plays 60-70mins on his return. 32 now, no spring chick etc, take a little time to get back to his best.

tis a decent shout, id be more inclined to get malouda and drogba back in for those games rather than lamps.

That's a good question. Seeing that Pav/Crouch hardly have a goal to their name, I want to think that Defoe will be starting. However, Crouch has been effective knocking down balls for VdV so I have no clue.

Probably Carroll, but depends when you bought him... he's very consistent and the likelihood of Torres getting injured is always there.

Fortunately I'll be removing Piqionne for Torres so less of an issue.

      Both premature imo.

Elmander has cracking fixtures and is on form.
Carroll is on form, and it would be wise to wait and see a dip in that before transferring him out on the assumption this manager business will affect him negatively.

I'm also yet to be convinced by torres as a fantasy prospect.

    Konchesky, Ridgewell, Baines, Vidic, Foley.
    Nani, Arshavin, Cahill, Brunt, Ferguson.
    Carroll, Torres, Berbatov.

I don't know who should be on the bench out of them!

When I have a Man Utd defender, they play in every match. Surely you can't drop Vidic in a HOME match, regardless of the opposition. There is a possibility of a clean sheet, lots of goals against are unlikely and he can score.

Vidic could also score a goal, whilst a CS isn't out of the question.

Baines & Vidic at home, leave them in. NewC have scored in 5 of their last 6 homes, Wolves have scored in 5 of their last 6 homes. Flip a coin between Konch & Ridge. If Torres is on paternity leave, you're sorted.

Who has an opinion on Ben Foster Vs Paul Robinson this week? I keep getting it wron, and I think I've missed 11 pointers (although Fosters was against Chelsea which I think is fair enough) from each of them.

So obviously I'm underestimating their goalkeeping skills. This week they're facing Bolton and Wolves, both away. Bolton carry the greater attacking threat, but I figure they could actually score.

      I'd go for Foster.

It's impossible to call. Flip a coin. Foster has spent most of the season getting clean sheets when you don't expect it and not getting them when you do. Blackburn have been pretty useless away from home but that could easily change. Both away so no choice there.

I can't see how anyone can give any meaningful advice here.

yeah, I keep getting it wrong, so coin-flipping isn't such a bad call.

I have a Birmingham Defender, so I was thinking of splitting it that way 50/50 on a cleanie, but I've benched him.

I don't watch football though, so you'd be surprised what details can help me.

I've the same dilemma. But as I plan to bring VDV in, it'll be Malouda > VDV and keep Drogba for now.

Chelsea have a nice run of fixtures after these next 3 though, so I'll no doubt want to bring Drogba/Mal/Lampard back in for GW20 onwards.

regardless of who is manager, carroll is their #1 striker and will be playing the same way. he's still the same player, so the fact that there's no permanent manager doesn't stick w/me. are you guys expecting some massive changes or something? no, it's going to be the same newcastle team out there.

Well reports are that the players aren't happy about it. Morale/confidence are pretty big factors in my opinion.

Look at Inter, last season they absolutely smashed it. Mourinho leaves and they get lumped with Rafa (lolz). They're already 10 points behind Milan this season despite having pretty much the same team.

Even if it doesn't affect them at all, which i'm not ruling out altogether, you have to consider that it is a possibility - and that alone makes it a risk not worth taking imo, to be honest it would have been a risky one regardless, with the Hughton business too it's just too much.

    Drogba out Odemwingie in.
Leaving me 13.5 in the bank. Lets have a party!
After watching Chelsea get bossed around the second half by an out of form Everton something needs to be done. Playing Drogba every week and expecting a different result is borderline insanity.

He was actually one of our better players on Saturday... Won a fair bit in the air but never had any support. Plus Tottenham's defence is a shambles, see last night, and they are missing about a dozen midfielders.

            So do I.

Ferreira will probably get booked too when he has to come on for Bos to stop him getting sent off.... Bleurgh. I'm seriously dreading the game.

Both will prolly just wave Bale by and force Terry or Ivan to pick up the booking.
