Who are the best FPL captain options for Gameweek 20?

The Gameweek 20 captaincy debate, if we can call it that, has only been about one Fantasy Premier League asset thus far: Bruno Fernandes (£11.3m).

His omission from Manchester United’s starting XI in an FA Cup win over Liverpool, which he still managed to get the winning goal in, has only made the clamour to captain him even stronger ahead of a plum fixture against Sheffield United.

Injuries and/or significant loss of goal-scoring form has hurt the usual challengers for the armband with Kevin De Bruyne (£11.9m) and Jamie Vardy (£10.1m) unavailable while Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) has blanked in five successive Premier League matches – all good news for Fernandes.

That said, does an injury to De Bruyne open up some differential options in the Manchester City side? Are there perhaps some outside picks up for grabs from the less popular teams? That’s what the Captain Sensible article is here for.

      Clean sheet odds aren't that different between the 2 with Leeds only slightly edging it (19/10 vs 11/5) so I think Robertson is still the better option for his superior attacking output

        Injuries to KDB, Vardy, Rashford, I know managers that have all three. Sorting the team structure out after a BB would be another aspect. There are always reasons, even though they may not apply to your own team.

    The problem this season is mis-classification, that's why everyone would rather play 3-6-1. Rashford, Aubameyang, Zaha, Lookman could all be forwards. Even Mane & Salah? Surely anyone in the front 3 of a team should be a FWD in Fantasy.

      This problem was also around last year, but instead of doing as you suggest...they moved Rashford, Auba, and anyone else playing as a wide forward to midfield.

    Been debating this too long now and it's becoming a headache. Would love someone to convince me of one of these moves:

    A: Vardy Balbuena > Antonio Cancelo (route to Kane could be trickier)

        Can I ask why? I'm half leaning towards C because I've no City cover, whereas I have Son, and Cancelo has a better fixture than Kane.

        I'm open to being convinced otherwise - Vardy > Kane will definitely be the move next week either way.

          Probably will get one. I just did Vardy to Kane for a hit (did the reverse move last week) so I didn't have to play Holding. Already 13 points down on that transfer from last week and then the injury, so a Holding haul on my bench sounds about right.
