Double Gameweeks 24 and 25 confirmed as rescheduled fixtures are announced

The Premier League announced new dates for three previously postponed top-flight fixtures on Monday afternoon – and in doing so, confirmed that Double Gameweeks 24 and 25 would take place.

These ‘mini’ Double Gameweeks will occur immediately before what is expected to be the biggest Double Gameweek of the season, with details of that expected to be thrashed out after the FA Cup fifth round has taken place in a week’s time.

Manchester City, Everton, Burnley, Fulham, Leeds United and Southampton are the six teams who will enjoy two Premier League matches in either Gameweeks 24 or 25, with the new schedule as follows:

Wednesday 17 February

18:00 Burnley v Fulham
20:15 Everton v Man City

Tuesday 23 February

18:00 Leeds v Southampton

Gameweek 24 doubles:

  • Manchester City: Tottenham Hotspur (h), Everton (a)
  • Everton: Fulham (h), Manchester City (h)
  • Burnley: Crystal Palace (a), Fulham (h)
  • Fulham: Everton (a), Burnley (a)

Gameweek 25 Doubles:

  • Leeds United: Wolverhampton Wanderers (a), Southampton (h)

How many Southampton and Leeds players are you planning on having for gw25? Not sure I want to make many sacrifices to bring players of these 2 teams.

If I still own DCL, I'll just swap him to Ings.

With the doubles announced for 24 and 25, here are my thoughts for DGW26 (for what their worth):
    1. IF all the favorites go through FA Cup R5, I don't see any reason they wouldn't just move those fixtures into 26, as they wouldn't be able to squeeze any "extra" outstanding games in. Which would mean no one who doubles in 26 would play in 29:
    AVL (lee/shu)
    BUR (tot/LEI)
    CHE (MUN/liv)
    CRY (FUL/MUN)
    LEI (ARS/bur)
    LIV (shu/CHE)
    MCI (WHU/WOL)
    SHU (LIV/AVL)
    SOU (eve/tot)
    TOT (BUR/SOU)
    WOL (new/mci)

    2) IF Everton beat Spurs and Southampton beat Wolves in R5, AVL-TOT would likely be put in 29 as both teams would be free (out of FA Cup, but opponents are not). So those two would double in 26 and play 29.

    3) IF Sheffield United lose to Bristol City in R5, the Premier League is likely to move AVL-EVE* into DGW26 since both play in 29. So those two would double in 26 and play 29.
*-or AVL-TOT if #2 occurs as well

Of course, all will be revealed in the next 7-10 days I would guess.

Double Gameweek Fixtures for GW24 and GW25 have been Confirmed!

Everton v Manchester City and Burnley v Fulham will now take place in GW24, with Leeds v Southampton added to GW25 schedule.

How many and which DGW assets do you have already have in place?
What are your initial thoughts on additional recruits for these Doubles?

    __

    Some future BGW/DGW notes:

Postponed fixtures still to be allocated: AVL—TOT, AVL—EVE, MCI—SOU, FUL—TOT

FA Cup QF (GW29), SF (GW32) and Final (GW37) will cause further planned postponements, Blanks and Doubles.

Significant DGW and BGW’s are anticipated in GW26 and GW29 respectively.

Link below to a fixture matrix illustrating the remainder of 2020/21 schedule, as it stands —

      Plan so far:

Step 1 - Make sure you have two FTs going into GW24.

      Step 2 - ??????

Step 3 - Come out of the DGWs with a lot of points.

This is everything but easy. Pope in looks like a must, but without free transfers getting also C Son for next week becomes an issue. Is he attacking enough is one issue. Another question is whether it is worth -4. Ben Mee can score in both ends, but probably not worth a hit.

I’ve got Areola from bb19 so will just play him instead of bringing in Pope
I planned sterling to Son one week punt but Spurs just can’t break teams down, who’s to say it won’t be 0-0 or 1-0 hardly worth the extra transfer back again

GW 25 - 1×Leeds, 1×Sou (can do without hits, maybe a hit for Raphinha depending on mids situation) no chip

Have Stones, Cancelo, Richarlison, DCL (and Taylor) for dgw24. Probably have too keep Richarlison now with the double in mind, original plan was to move to Antonio. Hope Taylor is for for the double, probably will get one ManCity attacker in for 24.

This should be interesting. The lack of added matches sort of helps. Were it like the last one, you just pack the team and roll the dice. Here I will be looking to play around Burnley as I view them with great suspicion. Pope *could* keep a clean sheet and come away with 10 over two games, or he could come away with 2...

This is a classic DGW where single GW players are likely greater EV, the Citeh and Toffee options notwithstanding.

        This week save a transfer

Next week 3 transfers 1 hit.

Leaves me with 3 city 2 Everton 1 Burnley and that's enough

The following week take a hit to get three leeds. That's also enough

Wildcard bb tripcap intact for chaos ahead

I was having the possible upcoming doubles and can have the below without any hits:

GW24: Cancelo, Gundogan, Sterling, Mee, Lowton, DCL, James R.
        GW25: Dallas, Bamford, Raphinha, Ings

Players going out: Robertson, Mitchell, James R to Raphinha and DCL to Ings
Another option is to WC25 but this will depend on the DGW26 fixtures..

Save FT this week, next week bring in Pope and a replacement for Wilson. This gives me five DGW'ers. McCarthy drops to the bench along with Alioski, Romeu and Walker-Peters ready for BB in DGW26 all being well if they all recover from injuries but I will have the FT to fix any issues here.

24 - Currently have Stones, Cancelo, Gundogan and Areola - 2FT to add Tarkowski and possibly Wood
25 - Just Bamford, but will probably add Raphinha, and maybe Ings if we see signs of Saints improvement

Who would you put first on your bench, Gundo or Cancelo? Probably both 2 pointers but still a tricky one!

Thanks. Cancelo’s definitely the weak link in my defence this week though so will be on bench-warming duties with Kilman and Gundo

      Setting up for DGW
Ederson and Salah > Pope & Sterling for free??
My Man City 3 would then be Cancelo/Gund/Sterling

      Hey fam!

Stick with Areola for DGW24 and do Mitchell to Mee for Burnley cover. Sounds good? Martinez is my other GK.

Wtf Zouma and now Chillwell were sitting on top of the fpl def stats up to gw15, now both (it appears) dropped like a bad smell. Zouma 2 starts from last 7. He must have really pis#ed someone off.

Absolutely don't have the brains to compute this stuff.
Which teams should be the focal point for the coming weeks (and possible DGW)?
