Five-time top 1k finisher on Double Gameweek players, captaincy and chip strategy

One of the world’s best FPL managers, Tom Freeman, reveals his team plans for Double Gameweek 24 and beyond.

Gameweek 23 has drawn to a close and it went pretty well for me, as I ended on a total of 76 points.

However, with the fixtures coming thick and fast, focus has already turned to the forthcoming doubles. We’ll find out more once this week’s FA Cup fifth-round ties are complete, but for now, we at least know who will play twice in Gameweeks 24 and 25.

With all of my chips still intact, it’s going to be pretty exciting, but I’m also fully aware that it’s a pivotal stage of the season which I need to get right.

So, in this my latest column, I’m going to note down some thoughts on the teams involved in this week’s Double Gameweek and also outline my plans moving forward.

For context, here is how I’m currently set up, with two free transfers:

If i'm currently on two City assets (Gundo+Dias), should i bring in a third one and who should it be - Cancelo, Foden or Sterling?

If anyone has the time to review my plan for the next few weeks, I’d really appreciate it.

Current: 2FT, 3.6ITB. BB, FH, TC available.

    Martinez
    Stones Cancelo Coufal
    Raph Gundo(C) Salah Bruno
    Antonio DCL Bamford

    (Fabri, Son, Justin, Mitchell)

This week: Fabri > Pope and play Pope for DGW24

DGW25: Coufal > Dallas so have 3 Leeds for DGW25

DGW26: Salah > Grealish — Antonio > Kane — Mitchell > Dinge/Keane — Dallas > Targett/Cash (the last 2 players depend on prices but I want Everton and Villa defenders)

This leave me with x13 DGW26 and Raph and Bam so I’ll bench boost.

The only player I don’t really want medium term would be Pope so not left with a load of dead wood.

    FH BGW29.

Pope is perfect for the bench boost

If he’s out, Son comes in this week, then I can bench Antonio GW25 before taking him out for Kane GW26

Im bringing in Pope for steer (already have had Martinez all season) as he has.
      A double in gw24
West brom at home in gw25 and
A possible double in gw26 (if Leicester beat brighton).
But after that hes out for me and I will go back to Martinez for his doubles and for the rest of the season, as he has been great value.

Which teams are we expecting to play twice in GW 26? I assume you can’t WC and BB in the same GW?

      depends on FA games later.

So the winners of the FA cup games will be the DGW teams?

I think so and they will blank on GW29

So, if people do not have a FH, will they build for 29 and remove the players they’ve WCed in?

What is the best chip strategy of you have WC BB TC without a FH. Surely by bringing in all these DGW players for 26, they’ll be no players in the BGW?

Hi, this is my current team. ( i know it sucks, but an advice would be much appreciated.)

    Mc,Carthy, Martin
    Rudiger Dallas Stones Cancelo Douglas

    Bruno Foden Grealish Salah Burke

    Antonio Bamford Wilson

I still have freehit, bb and wildcard.
