Who are the best Everton players to own for FPL Double Gameweek 24?

Everton come under the spotlight as we begin our team-by-team look at the four clubs with two fixtures in Double Gameweek 24.

After a flying start to the season, the Toffees have endured a mixed run of form and face-off against Fulham and Manchester City in Double Gameweek 24.

The 500,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players who have brought Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.7m) into their teams for the double now face an anxious wait after the striker was substituted off with a hamstring injury in their FA Cup clash with Spurs.

With other assets like Richarlison (£7.8m), James Rodriguez (£7.7m) and Lucas Digne (£6.1m) receiving some attention, we are assessing Everton’s FPL credentials using Opta data.

As this article uses a significant amount of information from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

THE FORM

Everton started the season as unlikely title contenders after a series of impressive results.

After scoring 14 goals in their first five Gameweeks, Calvert-Lewin was a fixture in nearly every team, with Rodriguez and Digne also picking up a decent following.

But injuries to key players saw the Toffees drop out of form, with Carlo Ancelotti choosing a more defensive style of play to grind out victories.

However, recent results and a return to form for Calvert-Lewin, who failed to score a single goal from Gameweek 12 to Gameweek 21, have seen a resurgence in Everton ownership.

No WC for me but pretty happy with:
      Martinez, McCarthy
      Cancelo, Stones, Coufal, Dallas, Mings
      Fernandes, Son, Grealish, Gundogen, Raphinha
      Kane, Ings, Bamford

Looks like a good spread for possible fixtures and potential for 11 players in week 29 (with transfers) if tot vs avl is moved there.
Possibly BB 27 if the fixtures work out how I'm hoping.

Its tough when we don't know the actual fixtures.

    Mcarthy (FORSTER)
    Pieters Rudiger Cancelo (Justin, Lewis)
Salah Fernandes Gundo (c) Son (Soucek)
    Antonio Bamford Dcl

Is a -4 hit worth it for any of the options below? (0 ft and 3.8mn itb)

    A) Forster to Pope (Play Pope for Burnley's DGW 24 and Mcarthy for Southampton's DGW 25)

Nice suggestions thank you, will definitely consider that.

Would you not just play Soucek / Robertson over DCL to save the FT to gear up for 26?

I like Ings for his double in 25 and it turns out WOL is a good fixture at the moment so I'm moving for him this week.
If DCL and Antonio look like being out then it's a bit risky to only have 1 playing sub.
Obviously things are different if either are announced fit as Soucek is a great option to play this week.

      seems reasonable.

i'm saving wc for after 29.

I've seen plenty either without BB (Or using it elsewhere)...allows moving for GW29 players earlier...only needing 11 for 26.
Can prob get 9 dgw and 9 gw29 players easy enough with no hits if you're not worried about BB

Depends on fixtures and your team.
I'm hoping to save WC, BB gwk 27 and have 11 gwk 29 but that's with a specific fixture set up which probably won't happen.

I've not focused too much on possible dgw26, or beyond other than bgw29 in principle.

But besides Man City, Everton, Villa and Spurs the possible fixtures look tight to me in 26.

Those playing into City and Everton without a free hit will need to be on Villa and Tottenham for bgw29.

    Unless they'll let that ride?

    Pope
    Cancelo - Shaw - Digne
    Sterling - Gundogan - Bruno - Rashford
    Ings - Richarlison - Bamford

    Martinez - Dallas - Sanchez - Raphinha

Can get Kane and one of Grealish or Watkins for 26. Changing from double City defence to double midfield is one concern, and Sanchez could be anyone else really (need a benchable defender for the next few GWs, and Spurs defender seemed a good fit)

From rank 178 in GW21, I'm now 1,999 overall (how generous to have me in the thousand bracket FPL lol).

Left 35 points on my bench this week, whilst having four captain blanks in the last four.

Because they would play teams who have other games to be rearranged, so those other to be rearranged games might be put there instead (e.g Spurs have games against Southampton and Fulham to be rearranged)

Not sure if Newcastle pose an attacking threat enough to force Tuchel into playing a sturdy back 4. I'd see them playing Alonso in a back 3. ASM is dangerous though on the flanks if he finds the space

Is DCL to Richarlison worth a -4?

Son would come in off the bench if I stick with DCL

      Think I’d stick with Son

I generally have a squad of 15 good players but I'd still never bench Son.

How can anyone know before the press conference?
Based on knowing nothing I predict 0 minutes as hamstrings are generally tricky injuries.

Why would sub on an injured player?
          Or...
If he goes off after 30 mins then no chance he plays a few days later.

Not sure subbing on DCL for 30 mins with a hamstring problem is a good idea.

Complete guesswork until we hear from Carlo tomorrow but I’d imagine he will be back for the full 90 against city purely based on him stroking around casually in the celebrations post match v spurs

He's having a scan tomorrow so you'd imagine a slim chance v Fulham

Should be a few more decent DGW opportunities, for example Everton could have a DGW of Burnley and West Brom both at home in 28.
