Who are the best Everton players to own for FPL Double Gameweek 24?

Everton come under the spotlight as we begin our team-by-team look at the four clubs with two fixtures in Double Gameweek 24.

After a flying start to the season, the Toffees have endured a mixed run of form and face-off against Fulham and Manchester City in Double Gameweek 24.

The 500,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players who have brought Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.7m) into their teams for the double now face an anxious wait after the striker was substituted off with a hamstring injury in their FA Cup clash with Spurs.

With other assets like Richarlison (£7.8m), James Rodriguez (£7.7m) and Lucas Digne (£6.1m) receiving some attention, we are assessing Everton’s FPL credentials using Opta data.

As this article uses a significant amount of information from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

THE FORM

Everton started the season as unlikely title contenders after a series of impressive results.

After scoring 14 goals in their first five Gameweeks, Calvert-Lewin was a fixture in nearly every team, with Rodriguez and Digne also picking up a decent following.

But injuries to key players saw the Toffees drop out of form, with Carlo Ancelotti choosing a more defensive style of play to grind out victories.

However, recent results and a return to form for Calvert-Lewin, who failed to score a single goal from Gameweek 12 to Gameweek 21, have seen a resurgence in Everton ownership.

Still unsure of whether I should WC 25, or save for later

    Current GW24 side:
    2FT
    Martinez
    Dias Robbo Coufal KWP
    Gundo Grealish Salah Bruno
    Antonio Bamford

    (Forster, Son, Mitchell, Brewster)

Pretty set on Robbo to Cancelo as my first transfer, best second transfer?

    A) Forster to Pope
    B) Mitchell to Tarko
    C) Mitchell to Dallas
    D) Brewster to Rich
    E) Roll FT, save WC to GW30 (FH29)

Is Dias looking likely to be out for this weekend?

If so, surely City defence feels weaker and it is harder to bench the likes of Son?

I wouldn’t bench son he can create goals out of nothing same for kane.

Why would you bench one the highest scorers I. The game.
If you analyse fixture difficulty vs points for premium players you'll find it has less impact than you think.

Would you start Kane over Antonio, Bamford, and Soucek this week?

100% never bench a premium player as they have a higher ceiling. You might make yourself 4 points by being clever but another week you'll lose 10.

It probably won't matter as Antonio probably won't start but it's out of Watkins or Bamford. Depends on how you rate BHA and ARS.
          Personally I'd bench Watkins.

Plan out your team for every week from now to week 30.
Im not convinced you need to WC at all in those weeks.
If DCL is injured then get Ings in for him.

As a GW 30 WCer, Im leaning more and more towards bringing in Konsa over a Burnley defender.

Realisitically, a Burnley defender wont be in most of our starting XIs for any week from now to GW 29 apart from GW 24. Essentially using a free transfer for 1 GW. Meanwhile Konsa is likely to have an amazing DGW fixture set (LEE+SHU) and also will probably play in GW 29, helping to build towards a BGW team.

    Anyone in a similar situation?

Depends on your bench though? You can still only fit 4 players on it. In this scenario I’d be using the wc and then bb26 if you still have your FH left

          1. Utopsis
            • 4 Years
            3 years, 1 month ago

But with such a mammoth DGW it's entirely possible to get 15 (or closer enough) DGW26 players using a couple of hits and no WC in 25.

But to your point, looking at Davies' bench he'll need a lot of hits to sort that out! None of them even start

All that matters is the players on your bench. For me that is 3 Leeds players vs Villla, and I'm not that confident in them getting a result. Week 27 my sub players potentially have better fixtures.

Why do I have such a strong feeling that Sterling is gonna crush it this week? He just looks up for it. And I'm so tempted to throw my future plans in the bin and do Salah + Stones > Sterling + Dallas. This is the sort of move I have traditionally really shied away from because if it doesn't work I'm set back a lot but the upside is also enormous and setting up the best City options early could be one of the biggest rank deciders at this stage.

Critical next 3 weeks. This is likely to heavily decide my season.

I guess it comes down to how much faith you have in Ben’s chart

The chart looks good to me, but there are still things very much in the air, such as whether Southampton will have a DGW in 26 or not, and if there are going to be DGWs in 27 and 28. I guess it's a question of how much these sort of things matter to the individual, and how badly their current team needs a WC.

True. I’ve got 15 slots to fill. Max 3 per team, so that’s MCI, EVE, BUR, AVL and TOT. Job done. 9 doubles for GW24, 15 doubles for GW26 and with 3 transfers between 27-29, 9 doubles in GW29

Wilson replacement needed, not sure about choice though.
    Already have DCL & Bamford.

Was thinking Barnes as a differential but looking forward to Wk29 he won't play.
That made me think about Maupay. Anyone else have a better idea?

    Thanks.

      Thanks for your help guys,
looks like Watkins will be the choice for 7.7.
That seems to make better sense but I hope Maupay doesn't score!

For those trying to navigate from now to GW 30 without a WC or FH, bringing in Villa, Spurs and Leeds players as well as holding cheap West Ham players looks very optimal.

For example my transfer plan for the next 3 weeks:

    24: Dallas + Adams in
    25: Raphinha in
    26: Kane + Konsa in (-4)

These transfers give me an additional 3 DGW players for GW 25, 3 for GW26, potentially 1 extra (Adams) in GW27 and 5 extra for BGW29.

And whats more, most of these DGW players are set to have good fixtures in the Double (unlike Burnley for example in GW 26)

Definitely, add Ings to the mix, hold City players a the way to week 28 and you should be OK based on the information we have so far.
