Who are the best Everton players to own for FPL Double Gameweek 24?

Everton come under the spotlight as we begin our team-by-team look at the four clubs with two fixtures in Double Gameweek 24.

After a flying start to the season, the Toffees have endured a mixed run of form and face-off against Fulham and Manchester City in Double Gameweek 24.

The 500,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players who have brought Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.7m) into their teams for the double now face an anxious wait after the striker was substituted off with a hamstring injury in their FA Cup clash with Spurs.

With other assets like Richarlison (£7.8m), James Rodriguez (£7.7m) and Lucas Digne (£6.1m) receiving some attention, we are assessing Everton’s FPL credentials using Opta data.

As this article uses a significant amount of information from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

THE FORM

Everton started the season as unlikely title contenders after a series of impressive results.

After scoring 14 goals in their first five Gameweeks, Calvert-Lewin was a fixture in nearly every team, with Rodriguez and Digne also picking up a decent following.

But injuries to key players saw the Toffees drop out of form, with Carlo Ancelotti choosing a more defensive style of play to grind out victories.

However, recent results and a return to form for Calvert-Lewin, who failed to score a single goal from Gameweek 12 to Gameweek 21, have seen a resurgence in Everton ownership.

GW2: once you've covered most of the already popular assets from the Spurs, Leeds, Villa & West Ham.
(Kane, Son, Bamford, Dallas, Raphinia, Antonio, Soucek, Coufal, Martinez, Grealish, Watkins)
What the point in spending hits or more FTs on filler just to get to 11? Especially when very few have an FT left so you won't be competing with many full XIs anyway. Only to then WC them out again?

    Seems a very myopic focus.

    1. Snevitz
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

That's an easy 10 players and I don't think you even need to WC afterwards.

What else would you use your FTs for ahead of a WC?

      1. Sif

Making my team the strongest possible over a period not just for one GW.
Like removing Justin when he has Brighton 27 then Sheffield 28. I don't see the point just to get a random player I don't want in even If I do have WC left.

Ah no I completely agree with you on the Justin example (pre-injury of course), but in other instances taking the risk of moving a stable player on for 1/2 GWs to really attack certain fixtures can pay off big. Particularly if you don't have too much value tied up in them

Yeah I can afford DCL >Kane but I don’t really fancy Spurs against city or West Ham while Cavani’s fixtures are great for the next 2 games. Do you think it’s a better move to just do DCL > Kane

I had that decision until Antonio appeared to be injured.
I had Grealish on the bench but now it's Antonio as I'm worried that even if he starts he'll pull up injured.

    A

24.....chilwell and dcl  to lowton and ings for free

25....soucek and antonio to raphinha and Bamford  - 4

26.....hopefully just enough for Bamford to kane (TC)

    B

24...Chilwell and dcl to lowton and bamford

    25.....soucek to raphinha

    26.....antonio to kane

Option A gives me ings as an extra dgw player but I'll have to rake a hit...thanks

    Pope (Martinez)
    Cancelo dias chilwell coufal dallas
    Salah Bruno grealish gundog soucek
    antonio Watkins dcl

Jesus had one of his best games against Swansea- I could get him for Antonio on a free- worth considering and even captaining as big differential? Could get Sterling for Salah but getting Jesus for the double (particularly if Antonio not fit to start) then easy move to Kane for week 26

Doesn't start every game, good chance he misses one of the double. Also rarely gets more than one goal, not sure he's worth the price as good a player as he is.

There is a big merit to saving your WC for GW30 if you can field a strong XI with a TC In 26 using FT's.
5-6 DGW fixtures will be played aftee GW30 and there is a good fixture swing.

    A) Johnstone -> Areola, play Areola over Martinez

    C) Neither and burn a FT into the abyss

I don't think I'd ever question this ever again & it might sound ridiculous but play either Coufal/Soucek ahead of Son?

    Think I'm currently on this;

    Pope
    Dias - Cancelo - Digne - Coufal
    Salah - Fernandes - Gundogan
    Cavani - Bamford - Antonio

    (Martinez - Son - Soucek - Dallas)
