The best Leeds players to consider for FPL Double Gameweek 25

Leeds come under the spotlight as we begin our look at the clubs with two fixtures in Double Gameweek 25.

The Elland Road outfit are coming off the back of a mixed run of results to face Wolves and Southampton in the coming Gameweek.

With a number of well-owned assets who are still receiving a lot of attention, Fantasy Premier League managers are backing Leeds players to deliver.

But are their high owned assets worth having? And are there Leeds players still flying under the radar? We assess their credentials in this Premium Members article below.

THE FORM

Bamford and Raphinha star in audition for Double Gameweek 25 2

Coming up from the Championship, Leeds have been a revelation this season, with their gung-ho style earning plaudits far and wide.

Their 40 goals this season can only be bettered by teams in the top six.

Unfortunately, this has come at the expense of having a solid defence, with Leeds also shipping 42 goals. Only West Brom have conceded more.

Their up-and-down season can be summed up perfectly from results in their last six Gameweeks.

A fantastic away win at Leicester along with confident wins over Crystal Palace and Newcastle are sandwiched between losses to Brighton, Everton and a battering by Arsenal.

Their 4-2 defeat at Arsenal also showed just how vulnerable they can be at the back without club captain Kalvin Phillips (£4.9m), who missed out through injury.

So, going forward, Leeds are one of the best attacking outfits in the league, just don’t expect them to keep many clean sheets.

Morning chaps, which BB26 team do you think scores more in 26? I am listing only the different players between the 2 teams:

    Option A (achieved with WC25) - 14DGW + 1SGW
Targett*, 5.2 defender*, Barnes*, Kane*(C), Ings*

    Option B (achieved with a -4 hit) - 12DGW + 3SGW
    Dallas, Coufal, Salah*(C), DCL*, Watkins*

In both instances I would have 6 players already for BGW29. Option B allows me to dead-end my team for 29 and then WC out of it in 30.

Obviously A, but WCing this week into only 6 BGW29 players is puzzling

I see what you mean. I am trying to maximise the BB26 and could take a hit or 2 to bring in some more 29 players.

          Why not 3xLeeds, 3xVilla, Kane & Son?

3xVilla + 3xSpurs + Bamford is what I have allowed for on the WC option. So that is 7 players actually, I can't count! Not really interested in Leeds defence if I WC and midfield spots are occupied by DGW players. Will get Raphina for 25 but transfer him out for Barnes in 26

Struijk is a great option, especially on WC, since he allows a good structure for the rest of the season. Even if he drops out of first XI he just become a bench fodder.

Can always transfer him in in 27, or 28, or 29. I think I can get enough 29 players using FTs in the subsequent weeks. Appreciate the input mate, you make a valid point!

It is up for discussion I suppose. I am looking to switch to double City defence (have double attack atm) + Shaw. I tend to play 3 in defence most weeks so Cancelo + Dias/Stones + Shaw I am happy enough with

both have the same price and same potential for CS.
but one is a full-back that often marauding forward so can get a chance for a goal/assist anytime.
meanwhile, the other one is a centre back that a chance for goal/assists mostly only come from set pieces.

so in a situation like this, I mostly choose the fullback. in this case, Cancelo to keep.

    Best moves with 2fts?
This week - Son and Antonio - Raphinha and Ings
    Next - DCL/Ings - Kane

    Martinez Pope
    Cancelo Stones Mee Dallas Coufal
    Salah Bruno Son Gundo Soucek
    DCL Antonio Bamford

Soucek to Raphinha and roll 2nd FT. If Soton get confirmed double double then use 2nd FT for Antonio to Ings

I would probably downgrade Son to Barnes and use those funds to get Kane in. I'm not convinced with the Spurs double-up. Most likely due to Kane being out injured affecting Spurs and Son. Kane is a better captaincy option over Son due to pens and has had some rest from his injury.

Vardy is a good alternative for Kane since you already have Son. LEI have some good fixtures from 26 onwards. Looked very good in the Liverpool game

    Martinez
    Tarkowski Stones Cancelo

Everton have played better against big teams this season and have managed to bounce back after some abject performances against so-called lesser sides. I’m not expecting a result for them this evening, but there’s a glimmer of hope.

Allan back could be a big boost. I think King might get his first start too.

He seemed to be at his best just prior to his injury. Don’t know if you saw those games.

I think he’s taken a little while to get settled like all new signings. Agreed that he made some mistakes earlier in the season.

I just fear that he’s made of glass and will not be able to stay fit.

Allan's return should be huge, his defensive ability is elite and that allows Rodriguez, Digne, Rich etc to get more opportunities to attack and use their talents. City have been fantastic but Gundo has been responsible for much of the goal threat, will be interesting to see how Pep responds to the setback. 0-2 my prediction.

Article on Leeds assets for DGW25, and no mention of Jack Harrison.

Soton will be without KWP - just saying.

Thoughts on this WC Team for 25, BB in 26
    Meslier
    Dallas, Dias, Stones
    Barnes, Fernandes (VC), Rashford, Gundo
    Kane, Bamford (C), Ings

    Bench: Martinez, Dunk, Grealish, Targett

In 26, -4 Hit for Meslier > Areola & Rashford > Son. Captain Kane in 26.

Looks decent, no Salah is risky and you're transfers seem a waste - I'd just get Son now and Areola might not have a double so just get McCarthy now (although not that convinced on Saints defence to be honest!)

        • 3 Years

Yea I've taken an interesting strategy, I haven't had Salah all season... Definitely been a rollercoaster lol.

Rashford over Son is a punt that I'm weighing up still really. Rashford vs Newcastle I'm hoping the errors of WBA are ironed out and he can get a decent haul there vs Son @ WHU. The Areola one I'm really just relying on Ben Crellin being right, as you say though the probability of FUL DGW seems to be deteriorating by the day, so McCarthy was one I was looking at too, despite their frailties in defence recently. Will definitely take your advice on board though, cheers!

Out of curiosity where would you fit Salah in there? Would require either Kane or Bruno out, which is a really tough toss up IMO.

    which option better folks?
    1. DCL to Kane and one of the following:
    A. Mitchel to Dallas. and play Dallas + Matheus Pereira
    or
    B. Matheus Pereira to Raphinha. and play Dias + Raphinha

    2. Mitchel + Pereira to Dallas + Raphinha.
play both and transfer in Kane next week.
but will only have 10 DGW players plus one single gw to play (either Creswell, Bamford, Raphinha, or Dallas).
