Why is Alba’s goal from outside the box (7 points) given as an assist (3 points)? Was clearly going well on target

It’s hypothetical. It could have gone wide. The trajectory of it could have suggested so. There would have been people moaning either way. Some you get, some you don’t.

No way was it going wide but Swiss keeper should have saved it easily without the deflection.

Alba's shot on its on was pretty harmless ,i very much doubt on its own it would have ended up up in the net.
Nevertheless , the fact that it was on target still makes it an Alba goal under the rules.
We changing the rules here ??

There are any rules for what constitutes and own goal, which is why there is so much interpretation. I think the own goal was awarded because Zakaria attempted to play the ball rather than it bouncing off him. Sommer would likely have saved the shot had it nore been redirected. Other tournaments may use different criteria, but Uefa have awarded a few own goals that may have been given to the striker in other competitions.

I don’t think so, not with all the great options at 7.5 who will outscore him

Jesus , Firmino, Werner is good but always some cheaper option (fwds) outscoring them.

Slot for other City and Liv option is more valuable too.

@mods, @admin, Harrison confirmed signed permanently with Leeds. Can u adjust the setting in projections for him?

As he somehow overachieved , or maybe clinical , I love to see how all of u projected the points.

Dallas, Lingard, Nacho, Willock , Mahrez, Torres is some obvious overachiever in 2nd half of the last season. Still I highly consider some of them. Tq

is the best strategy for Semi-Finals to have 5 each of Italy, Spain and England, assuming England get through?

    1. RogDog_jimmy

      I’d think 4, 4, 4 and 3.

Guaranteed at worst 7 in the final with 5 frees.

      Can only start 11.

With 5 transfers for the final you may want 5/5/4/1. That would give you a minimum of 11 assuming no injuries and players selected. Denmark and Czech Republic have some good players who could make things difficult for England.

Yeah I think going for the most likely scorers from each team might be better than all-in on one.
Like today. Ignoring Belgium and Switzerland assuming they were going to lose meant not selecting Lukaku and Shaqiri.
Having them then needed to transfer out would have been better than not at all.

I hear ya, it’s definitely not easy picking the perfect team at this stage of the tourney. Today’s ideal team would’ve included Alba, Lukaku, Shaqiri, Barella, & Insigne. Not unlikely, I’m sure there are some teams out there that had all of them.

3-4-3 sets you well, also depends on players selection.

As long as you have selected players at different price points, it should be easy to switch around depending on form. Look at GW1-7 fixtures, not longer than that, there is a fixture turn for premium teams around that time, UCL/Europa will also be underway during that period.

Coufal to TAA and Son to Grealish/Lingard/Raphinha/Harrison might just help prevent getting too exposed to Trent’s opening fixtures & ownership

If Lingard’s back at West Ham it allows Antonio to DCL as well on the off chance that DCL hits a little early streak… whilst also allowing the move to Bamford after a few games if (/when) DCL doesn’t read the script

A general rule for me is to avoid taking on players when clubs are promoted, in transition or players coming in from abroad. Lingard is an interesting situation. The man is ultra fit and looks good starting up. I am not sure it is a lack of sustainability on his part or players catch him up when at full fitness.

Something just occurred with me I thought I might share:
Obviously, far from showing off I had a stinker 19 points from 9 players and end up 16 800 overall.
The interesting bit is Andy's league I am 1825 and 128 in the Black box league. A total of nearly 4 million are playing/played this game with Andy having 16k participants and BB over 1 000.
All I can say is Andy must be spoon feeding or his entourage copy his side the best they can. I am .2% overall and 10% with Andy.
It sort of puts me off to think my position world wide would be far better if content creators did not show their sides. The BB league who do not "advertise" their teams I set in just over 1%.

Neither Heaton nor Romero will feature unless there's a crisis.
I'm minded to start with Hendo and Sanchez as my 2 keepers, Sanchez as backup if Hendo doesn't start. Once the picture is crystal clear, I could downgrade Sanchez.

Too imbalanced with those 4. Can only captain one, leaving 2 midfield premiums as sub-optimal. With one midf premium you can have TAA, a strong defence and good assets everywhere. With 2 premium midfielders (I'm including Son in that) you can have a decent squad. You can always 'Upside Chase', transferring, say, Bruno with Son for better fixtures.

      1. Zimo
        • 5 Years

Doesn't look imbalanced per se to me. Lack of subs is an issue though. 0.5 more would have been perfect. Could possibly shift TAA to Robertson. Ivan Toney is the only risk I see here. I expect Buendia to do well in the Villa team.

In my view, a squad with no viable substitutes is imbalanced. You always need at least one good option ready to spring from the bench.

I don't wanna triple up on any team right now. I'll wait and see on Havertz. Easy downgrade from Son if he looks like doing well and Son isn't. I'll probably shift TAA to Robertson and get Fofana as a sub or maybe White or Lamptey

The likes of Fofana, White and Lamptey is what I mean by quality sat on your bench you'd be happy to step up if necessary. I try to ensure I have a pair of 4.5 defenders chiefly for that purpose.

And why won't I get points from the players here? Everything is a risk in this game. What's the point of playing it safe if it isn't fun? If i was gonna start kneejerking everytime a forward scored then i wouldn't do that well 😆

Not talking about choice but balance. Let us say you need to get to a "premium" forward, how will you go about it? The comment was meant as constructive, not derisive, I hope you realize. I am not talking about Knee jerking.

A disaster, in my opinion. It would make both Abraham and Watkins too subject to rotation and therefore to be avoided as options. Would enhance Buendia and Grealish if he stays though.

Watkins could potentially start playing on the wing again like he used to. 2 goalscorers in a team isn't a bad thing.

I could see a scenario of Grealish to City and that money is used for a backup midfielder, Buendia and Abraham so they line up:

      Martinez
      Cash Konsa Mings Targett
      Luiz Buendia McGinn
      Traore Abraham Watkins

      Steer
      Guilbert Hause Bridge Young
      Nakamba Sanson ?????

I'd need analysis of Ollie's record on the wing personally.
If Grealish stays, the prospect of a front 4 of Tammy, Ollie, Jack and Benny is pretty tasty!

The money doesn't add up without a Grealish sale.

First season in the PL they spent over 100m net.
Last season they spent over £80m net.
This season they have already splashed out over £30m on Buendia.

This is during a period with no fans in the stadium. For FFP purposes they would need to sell Grealish to balance the books. A fee of over £100m would do it.

Far too early for an FPL draft yet but this season will be a lot different from the last. I won a small ML score prediction. The success was to ignore home/away but I got more points for an away prediction. Going b fixtures and keeping a spread I will look for:
    2 Pool
    2 Man U
    1 W Ham
    1 Everton
    2 Leeds
    2 Brighton
    1 Leicester
    Maybe 1 Newcastle.
    3 spare dross.

TAA, Digne, Shaw, Creswell as a back 4 give a lot of set pieces & attacking threat

Surprisingly they “only” got 36 attacking returns between them last season…

But when you consider TAA can get 15-20 attacking returns by himself in a good year, and then 10-15 each for others… you’re looking at somewhere in the region of 45-60 assists/goals

Then throw in 40-50 cleansheets between them (40 last year)

Could easily be looking at 100 returns between them (about 2.6 returns per gameweek) across goals/assists/cleansheets then baps on top of that

Lots of points there for sure and possibly means less FT’s used in playing the 7th attacker points chasing game

Brownhill is a starting attacker for 4.5m in midfield, Gilmour should play every minute at Norwich and is less defensive than the likes of Romeu and Bissouma. I don’t recall having 2 better 4.5 mids in the same season, will go for 3 mid priced forwards plus Salah and Bruno/KDB if I did this.

It would mean having a cheap but fully playing bench of players I don’t mind actually starting, for 4.0; 4.5, 4.5, 4.5 (Foster as the 4.0 is the biggest risk)

Gudmundson/Brady & McNeil play as wingers.

I’d speculatively say he must train better and play better on the RW judging by that

FODEN is probably not making the cut for W1
and FOFANA will likely be swapped out

I don’t like it at all man, sorry. Your midfield is far too weak for a 1 striker formation, and 1 striker formations make little sense in FPL. Foden not nailed, rice a poor pick, not a fan of double Utd defence either.

Ooof is that a midprice Man City midfielder I see…

They’re going to break so many FPL managers hearts this season with rotation

Absolutely. I'm not even sure KDB is assured enough minutes.
Rice is not FPL material and Davis is just a waste. He'll be hard to shift too.

Did anyone else stop playing euros fantasy because they were doing so badly? I think Holland going out was the final straw for me.
