Six games today to occupy our fantasy minds as the gameweek warms up as it builds. Sunday will see three big derby games and Monday has a top of the table clash between United and Arsenal but we’re not left with scraps, there’s plenty here for us to feast all the same…

Gerard Houllier continues to put faith in his youth as Eric Lichaj comes in for the injured Luke Young, Carlos Cuellar, Ashley Young and Emile Heskey all return to the starting line-up with Nigel Reo-Coker also fit enough for a place on the bench. West Brom call Marc-Antoine Fortune into their ranks for the injured Peter Odemwingie…

Villa XI: Friedel; Lichaj, Cuellar, Collins, Warnock; Albrighton, Hogg, Bannan, Downing; Ashley Young; Heskey

West Brom XI: Carson; Jara, Scharner, Tamas, Cech; Brunt, Dorrans, Tchoyi, Morrison, Thomas; Fortune

Everton name an unchanged side from the side that drew one-all at Stamford Bridge last week while Wigan recall Hugo Rodallega following his three game suspension…

Everton XI: Howard; Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines; Coleman, Fellaini, Rodwell, Pienaar; Cahill; Saha

Wigan XI: Al Habsi; Gohouri, Steven Caldwell, Alcaraz, Figueroa; Thomas, Diame; N’Zogbia, Watson, Cleverley; Rodallega

Avram grant recalls Frederic Piquionne, Julien Faubert, Junior Stanislas and Pablo Barrera to his team while Manchester City make some enforced changes with Jo and Jerome Boateng coming in for the suspended Aleksander Kolarov and Carlos Tevez…

West Ham XI: Green; Faubert, Tomkins, Upson, Ben-Haim; Barrera, Spector, Parker; Stanislas, Piquionne, Obinna

Man City XI: Hart; Boateng, Toure, Kompany, Zabaleta; De Jong, Barry, Yay Toure; Silva, Jo, Balotelli

Tony Pulis recalls Jermain Pennant and Andy Wilkinson to his team while Ian Holloway names an unchanged side from that which drew two-all at Bolton two weeks ago…

Stoke XI: Begovic; Wilkinson, Shawcross, Huth, Collins; Pennant, Whitehead, Delap, Etherington; Jones, Fuller

Blackpool XI: Kingson; Eardley, Cathcart, Evatt, Crainey; Grandin, Adam, Vaughan; Taylor-Fletcher, Campbell, Varney

Mark Hughes recalls Carlos Salcido after a few weeks out through injury while Steve Bruce affords just places on the bench for Craig Gordon and Asamoah Gyan…

Fulham XI: Schwarzer; Pantsil, Hughes, Hangeland, Salcido; Davies, Murphy, Etuhu, Dempsey, Gera; Kamara

Sunderland XI: Mignolet; Onuoha, Mensah, Ferdinand, Bardsley; Meyler, Cattermole, Henderson, Richardson; Welbeck, Bent

After all five of our 3pm kick-offs finish we’ll then jettison in the direction of Newcastle as Alan Pardew gets stuck in at the deep end against Roy Hodgson and his Liverpool team, Fernando Torres undoubtedly wanting to rock the Bebeto and Pardew wanting to build on the 15 supporters he so far has.

The Dugout Discussion is open as is the norm throughout the day to take in all the action as and when it occurs.

I always thought he was set for the 2 points after scoring 3 in a row just before playing Blackpool at home. Just like I knew Elmander would get 2 points against them a few weeks back.

      Still got Elmander mind 😉

Join the club. What are the bloody odds of choosing eight shite captains in a row?

And I'm biased because I also gave Ethers the armband, but it wasn't a stupid choice. In form, set pieces, at home to Blackpool... what more could you want???

Apart from, er, goals and assists.

That was an earlier safe choice for me. I like to have 3-4 players I can choose from for this. VdV, Nasri, Nani and (hopefully in the future) Drogba again are my choices

And Etherington was never going to score 15. Has he ever even done so? Blackpool are way more difficult (particularly when they are away for some reason) than people seem to accept.

It wasn't a stupid choice. On form and fixtures it was a good choice. Only in hindsight does it seem that way because he didn't get anything on the day. Was captaining Cahill a stupid choice because he didn't get anything?

No Cahill is slightly different although he is a player who rarely scores big unlike, say, a Nani, Fabregas or whatever.

There is research out there which says that your chance of scoring in the next match after scoring in your last is actually less than if you hadn't scored at all, so I don't really believe in form. I don't believe much in fixtures either except for selecting defenders.

Rooney is a STRIKER at the highest scoring team in the league in an important game against another high-scoring team with a pourous defence.

    Cahill is a midfielder…for Everton… against a 4th ranked wigan away setup.
