Euro 2012

After Iniesta-gate, it’s time for Fantasy managers to move on and quickly focus on tonight’s couple of Group D fixtures. Roy Hodgson’s England will go looking for their first win of Euro 2012 against Sweden later this evening but, for now, our attentions turn to the 5pm clash between Laurent Blanc’s France and the tournament co-hosts Ukraine. As always, our Dugout Discussion is up and running ahead of the first of those matches:

The team news as now in and the lineups are as follows:

France XI: Lloris; Debuchy, Rami, Mexes, Clichy; Diarra, Cabaye; Menez, Nasri, Ribery; Benzema

Ukraine XI: Pyatov; Gusev, Mikhalik, Khacheridi, Selin; Nazarenko, Tymoshchuk; Yarmolenko, Voronin, Konoplyanka; Shevchenko

Laurent Blanc makes two alterations from the side that drew with England on Monday. Jeremy Menez comes in for Florent Malouda, while Gael Clichy replaces Patrice Evra at left-back. The changes suggest a shift in system, with France moving from a 4-3-3 to a 4-2-3-1, perhaps allowing Nasri a role in the hole behind Karim Benzema and Menez a slot on the right flank.

Unsurprisingly, Oleg Blokhin keeps the same XI that saw off Sweden 2-1. Andriy Shevchenko leads the line, with Andriy Voronin in a more withdrawn role and the threat of Yevhen Konoplyanka and Andriy Yarmolenko out wide.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

They haven't for sure. If they lose and Portugal beats the crap out of Holland, Portugal win the group.

Feeling Torres in for Ronaldo... But then again I feel like Rooney will be itching to play and score goals since he's been sitting out for 2 games already and he should be VERY hungry mentally. So i'm gonna prolly do a Ronaldo to Rooney, nothing to lose since Ronaldo has been pretty poor this entire tournament. Would also like to get rid of chalkias but requires a hit

Group A was a real thriller tonight lads. It was a pleasure to be part of it.

Good luck to the remaining teams who are now all in with a shout of progressing.

Ah, well. Hard defeat today against England. Guess I am left to focusing on my fantasy team..

    Andersen, Chalkias
    Lescott, Debuchy, Strinic, Alba, Maniatis
    Özil, Iniesta, Dzagoev, Shirokov, Perisic
    Ronaldo, Benzema, Cassano

Do you guys think there is any idea to sub Chalkias considering I do not think he will play tomorrow? Or is it better to take the zero?

Otherwise I am not sure that Ronaldo is the best choice for a sub. I think that Portugal has a pretty good chance to get through and he must convert some of his chances in at least one game. Players that create chances will score some time - just look at RvP and Torres.

    Any suggestions?

Perhaps you are right... Just love them both as players and think they are perfectely able to turn their pitch awesomeness into fantasy awesomeness.

if anything i think i'd keep benzema and silva, but ronaldo just seems to be lacking. I have a gut feeling rooney will be very hungry next game since he sat out the first two already! so probably just doing a free transfer for ronaldo to rooney

          Fair enough.
I'm leaning to Iniesta --> Schwein.
          AND CR7 --> Silva
Then again I'm 20 points clear, no real need to take the chance. Thoughts?

the first lot might outscore the latter lot, so any hit would be a gamble w little possible reward

then again the euros are short term so might as well enjoy it
