Morning lads think I’m happy with this wc team but would appreciate any input ye may have.

    Sanchez 4.0
    Trent James regi livra duffy
    Salah greenwood Torres sarr sissoko
    Lukaku dcl antonio

Dilemas I have are torress being rotation risk
Would like to fit jota in but it would mean getting rid of dcl and downgrading him
What are people’s thoughts on sarr could be a good option if on pens?
Will regi get good attacking returns once Kane gets firing or are there better options at the 5.0 price point like semedo or Christensen

      Like Sarr.
Gray "covers" Everton and lets you get Jota too.

Sarr is a good option but if you really want Jota, I'd switch sarr - ESR/Gray, or downgrade Reguilon to Dier maybe, to give 0.5 for upgrading Torres - Jota

had a reasonable start to season, current team:-

    Sanchez
    Digne Veltman Shaw
Salah Fernandes (c) Son Benrahma ESR
    Antonio DCL

    Foster/Toney/ Tsimikas/ Livramento

    0.0 ITB 2 free transfers

I'm not immediately looking to get Lukaku or Ronaldo but really want to get TAA and ship Tsimikas.

Do I downgrade:- Salah, Fernandes or Son?

    Or is there another way?

Most feedback I've had is that Fernandes is the one to downgrade but worries me ahead of Newcastle Home.

Fair point, for some reason I feel more relaxed about that. Probably because I went without Fernandes GW1 and got burnt.

Thoughts on tomiyasu? 4.5 so saves the 0.4 on tierney. Do we think he goes straight in or is he eased in

On W/C toying with 3 Premiums plus Trent too.
    0.3 ITB

    Sanchez / Steele
    Shaw / TAA / Rudiger / Coady / Livramento
    Salah / Raph / Traore / Doucoure /Allan
    Ronaldo / Lukaku / Dennis

    Thoughts:
Would prefer Semedo over Coady but 0.1 short
Could go Trincao over Traore to fund it
Or just change Traore to Sarr and leave Coady.

    What do you think guys?

    Cheers

Personally I perfer a 2 premium team, your sacrificing some guys who look good to get points (Antonio, DCL, Jota, Torres, Greenwood, City Def) etc and i dont think its worth it. I'd downgrade Lukaku and spread money around the team. Ron to Rom in GW7

    2. Firmino

Don't like the 2 premium forwards at all. Antonio best form of his life. Ronaldo to Lukaku easy swap in GW7/8.

I've limited myself to Traore and Sarr as Barnes replacements:

Sarr (6.0) - overall good fixtures next 3GWs: WOL, Nor, NEW - WOL ofc the toughest one, however, can see a nice potential for counterattacks. The only noticeable of WAT was during the first GW - over 1.3. Sarr with overall xG: 0.43 and xA: 0.62.
The numbers should be better with the incoming fixtures. Definitely Sarr is their main man, just ofc we can't be sure that WAT will be performing better(?)

Traore (6.0). - imo the best fixtures next 3GWs: Wat, BRE, Sou. Wolves with good xG of over 1.3 each of their games so far - how it ended is another story. Traore with xG:1.5 and xA: 0.61.
He passed the eyet-test. Said that, we can't be sure that they will start scoring, however, they look really good as a team.

      1. drughi
        • 14 Years

yeah unsure on watford but sarr looks like the main man for them while traores numbers are better on paper

And compared to the last season, Traore is cutting inside from the left which should be better for him.

    De Gea 4.0
Alonso/James Laporte Duffy WIlliams (TAA or Matip)
Greenwood Jota Benrahma Torres (4.5 or Raphinha)

    A) Is it too risky to not pick FTorres (at least one City attacker)?
    B) If you have to drop one, who would you drop among TAA, Salah, Ronaldo, Lukaku?

    WC Draft - 3-4-3
    Sanchez
    TAA - Dier - Coady
    Salah - Raph - Sarr - Gray
    Ronaldo - Lukaku - Antonio

0 itb & Bench: Ward, White, Livra/BWilliams, Gilmour

      A) no city is fine, you can see early they share the goals between them but if on a WC, I'd want to pick Torres
      B) Drop Lukaku with an eye on Ron to Lukaku in GW7

I'd also want a chels and city def on WC

Gray feels a bit like a trap

    2. Twisted Saltergater

Torres is such good value. If you can prepare a squad on a WC with a strong bench, I think he may be worth persevering with if he only plays 2 in 3 games.

fwiw, here is what i think is an optimum WC

      4.5 GK
      Trent Dias Rudiger Regi, Livra
Torres Salah BennyR Greenwood (or Jota) Sissoko
      Armstrong (or pukki) Ronaldo Antonio

  15. Hairy Potter

Currently thinking of 433 with 2 premiums. Hoping DCL can match Lukaku short term then maybe Ronaldo to Lukaku.

    Sanchez (4.0)
    TAA, Dias, Shaw, Rudiger, (Livra)
    Salah, Jota, 5.5, (4.5, 4.5)
    Ronaldo, DCL, Antonio

Not sure if Ederson and a 4.5 defender instead of Dias might be better as don't really rate Sanchez.

Something I have heard a lot regarding fpl is “never captain a defender”.

Is TAA possibly an exception to this? I am looking at GW 6, currently I do not have Salah and whilst I can move for him, likely will - it raised the question why not TAA in a favourable fixture? He currently is playing more like a midfielder, has good creative stats and can potentially chip in with a goal. Add in a potential CS and he has a lot of sources of potential FPL returns.

If we expect him to return close to 200pts this season, then does he not therefore enter the captaincy question?

It is silly group think statement. If you think your defender has a very likely clean sheet or assist/goal threat captain him as simple as that. I have fond memories, of captaining Azpileceuta for a massive score years ago. Most people are swayed by prices so got for a mid or forward.Plus many have flawed logic clean sheet can be gone in one goal. Instead of asking how likely a clean sheet and attacking returns is v other captains potential points.

I captained Baines when he got a CS and scored a pen so it can work 🙂

    Best attacking option under 6.9?
    A) ASM
    B) Maupay
    C) Pukki
    D) Maddi
    E) Tielemans
    F) Gross
    G) Sarr
    H) Traore/Trincao

Too many to choose (got Raph)

Not liking any of those. Benrahma, Fornals, Barnes even Smith Rowe look tastier. Dele Alli seems nailed under NES too.

        Barnes isn’t tasty, he’s sour.

Don't let Arsenal's miserable form distract you from the fact they've had by far the hardest run of fixtures. I'm keeping White and ESR for this pleasant run of fixtures.

I started with them due to cheap prices and Brentford being the first game, but then they showed absolutely nothing in the league so far.

They almost refuse to play when it's difficult and seem to be really enjoying themselves when it's easy. 4-0 behind closed doors at Brentford and 6-0 against WBA U-23 in the cup. Their potential can thus only be measured by what kind of opponent shows up, Norwich up next.

I agree entirely, the only mistake you made was thinking Brentford was going to be easy, when it just felt inevitable that spineless Arsenal would not cope with that environment.

Only issue is whether ESR and White, specifically, come good - I feel that certain Arsenal players will do in the short and long term, but would have more faith in Tierney and possibly Saka. ESR looked out of his depth even when 11 v 11 v city and we might see Odegaard get heavily preferred now

Good point but I think ESR will keep his place, he showed the most out of any player in the league and he and Odegaard can both play at the same time.

The City game was different though since it looked like the players were protesting. The pattern was that the player who won the ball refused to play it to his teammates, and the post-game events looked very sad too, even dramatic as Arteta was congratulating all the City players before he came to his own.

Think they're a solid top ten club with a good run of fixtures. Just a case of whether individual players stack up against other assets at other clubs in the price ranges.

Fair point. ESR vs Gallagher, Gray, Traore
        White vs Jansson, Ayling

For what's worth if I had White and ESR, I'd keep until I played my WC. I'm on a WC at the minute and only Tierney interests me. Might be all change in a few weeks though!

I too started with Tierney and ESR on BB gw1. I jumped shipped fairly quick when I saw how disjointed and low on confidence Arsenal are. Would you be surprised if Arsenal drew or even lost v Norwich then they have Spurs afterwards. Massively under pressure.

Lots of interest in Wolves players at the minute. Still feel it's a wait and see with them rather than picking just because of being on a WC.

Tierney could outscore Semedo and Saiss in the short term.

I think Everton under 6 mids better than Traore

Tierney can be good, not sold on Eve mids, they dont have numbers, overperforming right now - Gray

Wolves defence is the way to go maybe even double.

Maybe I'm still reeling from double Wolves defence plus Jimi captain for the game early last season against West Ham. I think I got -1 due to the Jimi own goal, goals conceded and a yellow card. They had looked good against Man City in the preceding match.

A new season now that was just unlucky. I captained Soucek when he got sent off last year - still named my team Soucek's Spud Salad.
Wolves attack not great IMO yet to click. Watched full Wolves Leicester gw1. Wolves rarely play risky pass nice and tidy.

Anyone considering Pogba as a Bruno replacement?

Do you think he will be more involved now Ron has joined?

    Cheers

Imagine a fair few are in the same boat, so what we saying?

    A) Bruno + Ings --> Torres + Ronaldo
    B) Bruno + Ings + Tsimikas --> Jota + Ronaldo + 4.8 (-4)
    C) Wildcard

    Current team:

    Sanchez - Foster
    TAA - Shaw - Veltman - Tsimikas - Livramento
    Salah - Bruno - Raphinha - Benrahma - Brownhill
    Ings - DCL - Antonio

What to do here guys? Not sure whether to use WC chip?

    Sanchez, Foster
    TAA, Shaw, Ayling, Veltman, Tsimikas
    Salah, Bruno, Benrahma, Raphinha, Mahrez
    Antonio, Toney, Obafemi

    2FT £0.8m ITB

    A) Bruno + Obafemi —> Ronaldo + 4.5 mid
    B) Option A + Mahrez —> Torres (-4)
    C) Option B + Toney —-> DCL (-8)

    Any other suggestions??
