Captain Poll

Who is the best FPL captain for Gameweek 6? Vote now

Our captain poll has launched for Gameweek 6 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

You can cast your vote via the embedded poll below or on the widget of our home page.

Mohamed Salah (£12.6m) was the runaway winner in our Gameweek 5 poll with over 60% of the vote but the Egyptian surely won’t have it all his own way this week, with Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.7m) and Manchester United back on home soil.

Salah and Liverpool face a potentially trickier test than the Season Ticker would have us believe, up against a Brentford backline that has conceded on just two occasions this season.

Still, Salah has racked up three double-digit hauls in his first five starts and has reached 50 FPL points quicker than in any of his previous campaigns.

Ronaldo has four goals in his three competitive United appearances since rejoining the Red Devils, meanwhile.

And Bruno Fernandes (£11.9m) has racked up three successive double-digit hauls against this weekend’s opponents, Aston Villa.

With eight clean sheets between them in 2021/22 so far, defences could be on top at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea entertain Manchester City – so Romelu Lukaku (£11.6m) will likely be well down the pecking order in our vote.

Said Benrahma (£6.4m) and the newly available Michail Antonio (£7.9m) will face a Leeds United defence without a clean sheet in their first five matches and who have conceded more shots on target than any other club, while Ismaila Sarr (£6.0m) faces the tantalising prospect of encountering a Newcastle United backline that are joint-bottom for big chances allowed. The Magpies are also without a shut-out in 2021/22.

There’s one defence that is even worse than the above two clubs for goals conceded: Norwich City have shipped on 14 occasions already and will face Demarai Gray‘s (£5.7m) Everton next.

Our captain poll will be followed by Tom and Joe’s Tuesday video which discusses the runners and riders for armband duties in more detail, while Friday’s Captain Sensible piece will analyse the leading candidates in much more forensic detail than what we have discussed here.

Not really, only have Raph and wild carding in 8 anyway.
Even if I wasn't, there won't be a repeat of that week 5 shiitshow or else Fifa's reputation (what reputation?) will be in tatters

Can engineer this over the next few with a couple of hits in time for GW8:

    DDG 4
    TAA James Christ tierney liv
    Salah Grealish Raph gallagher (happy)
    Lukaku Bambam Antonio

Flexible formation and have to play 1 of the lower case players each week, with 2 very decent subs each week to cover the Chelsea/City rotation threats.

Can also get to the big3 team, but thats 3 hits, and frankly dont think its worth it. Prefer having slots for players like Bamford and Grealish, ability to have luxury high upside players like James (alonso/chilwell) and bench that isnt complete turd in these covid times.

better to be lucky than good

I think I'll probably end up just riding through the bad run because on the other side its all roses, and his replacement (Ramsdale, Guaita) will be lucky to outscore him by 8 (2 transfers) over that run.

I have. Planning to hokey cokey back in, but probably Grealish (using the Ronaldo dividend) as he is bossing my stats tables.

          1st Touches opp half & final 3rd
1st Passes received Opp half & final 3rd
1st Succesful passes Opp half & final 3rd
          1st Chances created
6th XGi (behind Mane, Salah, Gallagher, Jota, Gundog)
He has also started to creep into my goal threat tables as well.

Clearly he is incredibly involved in City's build up and I just have a feeling the whole team is going to pivot around him (KdB's body looks to be broken).

Play Ramshackle (TOT) or Sanchez (cpl)?

Spurs really are in the dog house, but it’s a derby and Arsenal are kak, but so is Sanchez.

Spurs I think will score but I can't see them having too many shots and therefore not many saves.
I'd chase the I'm guessing statistically more likely CS in Sanchez, with not a great deal of confidence.

    3. bench boost for every gamew…

Arsenal are kak, yes against the best teams, but not so bad vs the lesser teams in which Spurs atm are. Playing Guaita over Ramsdale, but playing Tierney with confidence. Palace vs Brighton is almost like a derby, because of history between clubs and often goals in those games for some reason.

    Hi lads.

Who would you replace Torres with? I took a punt on him a few weeks ago, and with fixtures turning in the next 2 im going to jump ship but not sure who for. Don't have Antonio anymore so im thinking maybe Benrahma, Bowen or Fonales?

    Any suggestions. Budget 7.5

    Cheers.

Yeah i've been toying with Sarr but i don't like to buy players that im not content with keeping for at least 5 gameweeks. The Newcastle fixture looks unbelievable for Sarr but after that im really not convinced. Zaha could be a shout, just added him to my watchlist cheers.

    2. Dr. Rog

      Gallagher

Grealish is on the radar but can't justify moving torres to him just because im binning because of the fixtures. If i do a torres to like a gallagher like you've suggested then probably will have the funds to do a traore-grealish move in a few gameweeks time. Already have a bit in the bank

Cheers anyway all. Gallagher and Zaha very much now on the radar with the west ham boys

I am definitely avoiding the Alonso/Chilwell side of Chelsea defence. Both of them are more than serviceable. In their easy run, I expect James to play most games on the right given that he provides the width required against low blocks. Azpi will probably mainly play RCB. I guess James will end up with the odd benching here and there but overall he should play most games in their easy run.

Hold a very similar opinion, I am looking R James & Rudiger myself.
Also, whilst only just cheaper may be the two that sneak my budget.

Only problem is that if I remember correctly from last season, James ended up being subbed towards the end of the game whenever he was benched which really sucks.

We don't know anything about James minutes. Silva is also a big factor. He is hitting good form and Chelsea could easily play Silva Rudiger Christensen in many games. And Azpi won't be benched often.

Which African countries are not on the UK red list?

Now that is a tough question to answer. Probably best to look it up really.

I do not see Cameroon there who are hosting the Afcon in January 2022.

Thing is I saw Zimbabwe their who are on the red list and sure there will be others on the red list.

So, if you have a red list country going to a non red list country, does that not put the non red list country in danger?

This whole red list seems like a load of bollocks to me.

Cameroon is the other red zone. But it will all change by the time of AFCON.

It will change because of AFCON?

I certainly didn't write that. Just check the link for an answer to your original question.

Best mid upto 6.6 for the next 5-7 weeks?
I’ve left Gallagher out mainly because I’m more interested in edouard and a palace double attack is out of the question.
    A)Benrahma
    B)Raphinha
    C)Gray

Kane has a great record in the NLD right? Am I just fooling myself and should I just bite the bullet and love for a hit? I have Dcl and possibly Raphina to deal with.

I don't think anything he did pre-Big Sulk is relevant.

Stuck with double BHA defence for (cry) and thought it might be time to lose Benrahma, but then 2FT could be handy for GW7… thoughts please!!

    Sanchez
    TAA Shaw Veltman
    Salah Greenwood Raphinha Benrahma
    Ronaldo Bamford Antonio

    Steele Tsimikas Ayling Brownhill

    1FT, 0.4 itb

    1. Benrahma >> Sarr
    2. Ayling >> Semedo
    3. Save FT

    Thanks
