Mark Sutherns is back alongside Andy North for another Premium Members-only chat to kick off Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Gameweek 9.

The video is an exclusive for Premium Members – and there’ll be plenty more to come in 2021/22.

Mark is recording for our subscribers every Gameweek throughout the upcoming campaign, so sign up via this link in order to see his regular appearances.

This week’s episode focuses on the biggest development of the week in Romelu Lukaku‘s (£11.6m) injury, discussing the best replacements for the Belgian as well as the points potential of Kai Havertz (£8.1m) when neither Lukaku or Timo Werner (£8.6m) are available.

Additionally, the pair talk about the emotional rollercoaster of owning a Chelsea defender, before they both reveal their Gameweek 9 line-ups.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Who would you put in him for and do you think United won't ruin Liverpool's cleansheet? I think that Liverpool will win, but I'm not sure on 1) if TAA will be involved in a goal, 2) if they'll keep a clean sheet.

I have him and don't see him starting but who knows with City.
Havertz would have to bang for it to be worth the -4 for me so I'm thinking leave it on off chance Mahrez plays.
Depends what else you've got to sort out, if nothing I'd probably do it as its not a bad punt in that case.

Livramento, I think we're all partly overlooking that Chelsea are fairly blunt and now don't have Lukaku/Werner (not that the latter made a difference) and Norwich are on the back of a couple of cleansheets. Not saying Norwich will win but it won't be high scoring. Livramento ought to get 6 points.

Probably B out of those. But you can't leave 11.7m on the bench so I guess C is worth the hit. No love for Vardy?

WC active. Appreciate some input on this draft please:

    Ramsdale, Foster
    Cancelo, Chilwell, Matip, Henry, Livra
    Salah, Havertz, Raphinha, Tielemans, Mbeumo
    Vardy, Auba, Edouard

Thinking TAA in a few weeks.

I started replying as I'm amazed about a WC without TAA, and with Auba and Havertz...

It's not just for this week, right?

But then I thought arsenal have decent fixtures, Lukaku is out for a whole, why not.

However, if it was me, I'd downgrade Auba into Jimi or Antonio and use the cash on TAA and Son.

      1. Bojam
        • 8 Years
        4 years, 1 month ago

        Fair enough.

What has TAA done so far this season? A few cleansheets but Matip gets those too. Other than that it's two assists. They look a bit shakey at the back so I figure he's not essential at that price.

Son is a concern. Such a consistent player and can return against anyone. But the next three fixtures aren't great and Spurs don't look that good.

Yeah, but TAA can also haul. He virtually plays like a midfielder. Plus he's been injured.

Agree with you on Spurs, but Son is Son.

My concern with Auba is that Lacazette looked good when he came on, so maybe he loses some time to him.

I kinda like the rest, Tielemans, Henry, Eduoard, seems fun.

Tempted to go 1) as have pretty strong bench, I take advantage of the immediate Chelsea def fixtures while doubling up Azpi + Chilwell, as well as have that 0.9ITB, which will give me flexibility if needed.

    1) Raya, Azpi + bench: Livra, Duffy, Davis and 0.9ITB

    2) McCarthy, TAA + bench: Duffy, Manquilo, Davis and 0.0ITB

    3) Raya, TAA + bench: Duffy, 3.9, Davis and 0.0ITB

Have 2 FT and 1.2 ITB. Planning to do CR7 > Vardy next week. Which option looks best this week? Is Mount risky given his recent minutes or should he get some starts with Lukaku out?

    A - Doucoure & Benrahma > Mbuemo & Raph
    B - Doucoure & Benrahma > Mbuemo & Mount
    C - Doucoure > Raph and roll 1 FT
