Team Reveals

After eight Gameweeks of the 2021/22 campaign, I’m currently sat just outside of the top 100k overall with 531 points.

Since I last checked in, I played a successful Gameweek 7 Wildcard, which I’ve included below alongside my Gameweek 8 set-up and week-by-week history of the season so far.

Now, ahead of Gameweek 9, my priority has been finding a replacement for the injured Romelu Lukaku (£11.6m). There are other issues in my team, like Adam Armstrong (£6.0m), but with a decent enough looking squad, I’m happy to wait a week or two before moving him on.

So, armed with £2.0m in the bank following last week’s frustrating Son Heung-min (£10.2m) > Phil Foden (£8.0m) transfer (don’t ask…), no forward is out of reach.

For context, here’s a shortlist of the options I considered.

So annoyed I was 0.1 off the lukaku>Kane move. It was the right move but had to pick vardy instead who I have a terrible history with in fpl

Are those spurs fixtures really that bad? West ham, utd, Everton. Can see goals in all of those.
Whereas Leicester have Brentford and arsenal which are two defences that we are considering goalkeepers from....
As you can tell, I'm torn between vardy and Kane!

Bench Trent, Captain Havertz - stupid?

    Ramsdale
    Cancelo Dias James
    Salah Havertz Raphinha Mbuemo
    Vardy Toney Jesus

    Bench: TAA Livramento Brownhill

Not stupid. The RMT tool on this site suggests that very thing. That being said, I’d be hard pressed to bench TAA ever, and this fixture is historically low scoring.

For me, I’m still captaining salah, but Kai is basically the replacement for Lukaku and lots had originally planned to captain him because of the fixture.

    Bottomed:

Lukaku’s injury, plus a number of fires to fight, finally prompted the wildcard. Here the team: Please tear it apart. Still trying to sort the back and whether I should downgrade there and move Toney to Jimmy

    Guaita (foster)
    TAA Cancelo James (Livramento) (White)
    Salah Son Mbuemo Raph (Brownhill)
    Vardy Antonio Toney

To expand on that, I have the funds to move to rudi if needed, but I also have a fully playing bench to cover James if he doesn’t play. That was the logic anyway.

If you are committed to 4-4-2 and can stomach the occasional benchings you are gtg.

Gotta be honest I’m a little nervous not owning Havertz but Norwich have looked better defensively recently and it’s also the early Saturday game.

Next week against Newcastle however is another story altogether.

Would really appreciate some feedback. Head is wrecked.

    Team

    Sanchez,
    Rudiger, TAA, Semdo, Livermento
    DLuiz, Salah, Sarr, Benrahma,
    Vardy, Antonio

Subs - White, Sissoko & Lukaku

    2.0m ITB

    So do I:
    Benrahma > Havertz
    or
    Semedo > Diaz

Ben to Kai is a short term move. Getting Diaz is a longer term move. That should inform your decision.

Good point, thanks. Just was finding it hard to resist the initial punt/differential of Havertz.

Another option is Lukaku + Semedo > Kane & Dias (or Cancelo) for a -4......any better?

Can afford either but surely Dias is the better shout over Cancelo who is bound to be rested very soon is he not?.....

Tempted to go 1) as have pretty strong bench, I take advantage of the immediate Chelsea def fixtures while doubling up Azpi + Chilwell, as well as have that 0.9ITB, which will give me flexibility if needed

    1) Raya, Azpi + playing bench: Livra, Duffy and 0.9ITB

    2) McCarthy, TAA + playing bench: Duffy, Manquilo and 0.0ITB

    3) Raya, TAA + playing bench: Duffy and 0.0ITB

    Thoughts?

    Antonio - Watkins - Vardy

    Foster - Livramento - Brownhill - D luiz
