Scoutcast: Best Free Hit players for FPL Double Gameweek 27

Joe, Seb and Andy help Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers prepare for Double Gameweek 27 and beyond.

Gameweek 27 sees just Burnley enjoy two fixtures. Meanwhile, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea miss out due to League Cup commitments and there are more challenges to contend with.

There are several extremely favourable match-ups for the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. But how can we fit in all their stars into our XIs?

It is a lot for FPL managers to take in.

Joe, Andy and Seb have decided to navigate this trickiest of Gameweeks by deploying their Free Hit chip. For Joe, in particular, it makes sense as his non-Wildcarded team is looking very out of date. Elsewhere, this chip is perfect for the set-up Andy and Seb have chosen for their recently Wildcarded teams.

But many managers will not be using their Free Hit this time around and our Scoutcast trio ensure they are not forgotten as they run through the best assets to pick in Gameweek 27, with an eye on further fixture chaos to come.

With limited fixtures in Gameweek 30 and doubles in the preceding two sets of matches, there is certainly no shortage of potential opportunities and pitfalls ahead.

Thanks to the graphics skills of Nym, there is a wealth of Premium Members Area tables to look over in this latest show, which took place on Tuesday 22 February ahead of the final matches of Gameweek 26.

The best midfield options, attacking defenders and teams, as well as the worst defences, are all considered. Joe’s ‘Goals Imminent’ table also gets an airing, which presents further challenges for owners of a certain Manchester United star.

They finish off with a closer look at their Gameweek 27 Free Hit team reveals, which shows how strong team value has been highly beneficial for one Scoutcaster in particular.

        I live by the sword. I transferred in Mahrez in GW24.

        10, 3, 6 so far. The guaranteed pens for City is a big draw. Since he became designated taker, I think his upside supersedes his rotation risk.

        He got me 6 points last week after a cameo by scoring that last min pen.

        I doubt it. He was benched vs TOT

        Grealish is out, Jesus is out and they can't drop points. I think it will be Sterling, Foden and Mahrez up front, but if he decides to play Bilva and Gundo as well its gonna be Foden dripping to the bench

              I saw a tweet a couple of days ago saying Pep had said that they will be back this weekend. I didnt bother to check whether that was true as it was a reliable fpl account who said it

    Have the above team for this week. Plan to WC28 so any transfers will be for one week only.

    Do you think B below is worth it given the risk of one of my defenders not playing and being left with only 2 playing defenders?

    A) Salah > Son (free)
    B) Salah & Tierney > Son & Mee (-4) - play Mee and bench Coufal or King

    Bench: Foster - TAA* - Salah* - Saka*

    Need some advice here. Currently I have 10 players on the pitch IF Reguilon plays. Should I free hit? I feel like saving it for GW30 and GW33/GW36. I also have a WC left, but could use it in GW31 or later. So basically I think I should sell Robertson and/or Reguilon to field 11 players. But I have no idea if it's worth it. And who to get instead?

      I wouldn't FH that team. Just get a Southampton defender in for Reggie (KWP perhaps) and you're good.

      That also gives you an extra doubler in 28.

    Surprised how many people are looking at free hits this week , there are much bigger dgw coming up and there will be blank game weeks coming up later in season .

      There is only one guaranteed blank GW at the moment and it's GW30. All the rest are likely to be DGWs.

      This week has a special distinction in that it's a blank and a double. The only other week (other than COVID/Weather) that could be like this is GW33.

      It's monsters under the bed imo. Scared of this big blank GW that never emerges. I did that in my first season back in 18/19. I saved FH and ended up using it to limited effect in GW38.

      If your team is not perfect but it's decent and you already have some key players like Weg, Son/Kane, City and Soton coverage, you don't need to use the FH at all.

        So 11 players without a hit . It’s not the best team I can put out there but I feel the free hit will be better used another week . 28 and 29 are nice big dgw

      team looks good... I'm going for double city mid myself. Hodgson has improved Watford's defence quite a bit. I'd rather go Pope/Utd defender than DDG/Burnley defender tbh

    I'm pretty set on FH'ing this week, I still have both left along with my BB chip. I can field 10 this week, potentially 11 if I was to make a transfer or a -4. What would you suggest doing here? I'm concerned about not owning city/united mids and better forwards.

      try creating a FH team and see how many different players you'll get for it in comparison to your current team? that might help to come to a decision
