FPL 2012/13 Is Now Open

And we’re off….Having released the Player Price List earlier on this week, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game is now officially up and running for the 2012/13 campaign, allowing us to tinker with our teams ahead of the big kick-off on Saturday August 18:

In conjunction with Tuesday’s revelation, our coverage of the player valuations continues to pick up pace. Having rolled out our analysis of the Goalkeepers and Defenders, we followed that up with a look at the Midfielders earlier this afternoon – no prizes for guessing the Forwards are on tomorrow’s agenda.

For now, though, let’s not waste any further time – our patience has been tested enough. Head off to the official site and get your team registered for the new season, folks, and let the planning begin.

    Not seen anybody mention Holt at £6.5m. Shouldn't suffer from rotation, and 15 goals in 2249 minutes in pretty good.

    Papiss Cisse also scored 13 goals in 1106 minutes. That's incredible stuff, and it'd be nice to have an attacking Newcastle player. Ben Arfa at 7.5 is the only other option worth the money from them.

      I think with Holt there's a certain anxiety over the change of manager which could result in a more defensive display from Norwich.

      I don't know why I don't fancy Cisse, I feel (probably incorrectly) that Newcastle won't have as good a season this time around.

        Newcastle, when Cisse started, played to get the best out of him. They may end up playing 4-3-3 (don't see why they wouldn't) and with other teams, there are a lot of possible goalscorers. Ben Arfa could also be a huge points scorer - his PPG was only slightly lower than Valencia's and should be even better this season with a proper run in the team.

    Just looked at Sunderland's home fixtures. Most of them are pretty tasty, think I might stick with McClean for the foreseeable future unless someone pokes their head up.

      I have just ditched the De Gea/Bego combo..They have horrible rotation...Look at Week 5,7,9,16 when u will want to avoid DDG

        If I have De Gea, which I will, he will probably play every game. They'll be even stronger defensively this year.

            Maybe, I wouldn't be that against playing him though. We may see tighter bigger games, last season saw some incredible results.

            Davis or Federici to rotate with him.

            I'm having Vidic, he will be playing every week for me regardless.

        De Gea is going to be a constant in my team if he's starting weekly. United are generally defensively strong and De Gea showed himself to be a good goalkeeper towards the end of last season, even if United do concede he'll manage a few save points.

          United will be better defensively this season for 2 reasons

          1) De Gea has more PL experience

          2) Vidic is fit

      It's horrible...i've started tinkering but wished I hadn't. Every team I make, I hate. Sleep on it and come back tomorrow. I even put Moses in just now - that's surely a lack of sleep.

    Last year i joined a league called Galacticos 47449-26667 and finished top of that league but this year i did not rejoin that league but its still showing up in my leagues . I am the 2nd entrant along with the League Chairman. Does that mean the winner automatically gets selected?

            Some national award for the best Physics coursework. I wrote a report on magnetic energy transfer and built a ball bearing gun to to record data. I also won a Governors award and this famous local news guy presented me with my sh*tty 'book voucher' 🙂

          Suarez will be at the Olympics but after that he'll be great value. Don't just jump to do what somebody tells you. Have a think about it,

          He'll be playing as the Centre of a 3 man attack which will suit his style down to a tee as it's the same formation he plays so brilliantly in for Uruguay.

          For me he's a must have after GW5

        Yeah he is, I originally had Lennon in place of Sinclair, but Sinclair's goal threat swung it for me. I might have to see closer to the time if Sinclair is likely to be rested for the first few games.
