FPL 2012/13 Is Now Open

And we’re off….Having released the Player Price List earlier on this week, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game is now officially up and running for the 2012/13 campaign, allowing us to tinker with our teams ahead of the big kick-off on Saturday August 18:

In conjunction with Tuesday’s revelation, our coverage of the player valuations continues to pick up pace. Having rolled out our analysis of the Goalkeepers and Defenders, we followed that up with a look at the Midfielders earlier this afternoon – no prizes for guessing the Forwards are on tomorrow’s agenda.

For now, though, let’s not waste any further time – our patience has been tested enough. Head off to the official site and get your team registered for the new season, folks, and let the planning begin.

    Thoughts on Nasri as City cover over Aguero?

    Turned out to be one of the most important players at end of last season, was more influential than Silva. But still is no Aguero crazy? Would captain Torres GW1 and Rooney GW3.

      Nasri could be great. You need nerves of steel to pick him though, its always disappointing when you see Mancini's team sheets 30 mins before the game & your star man is on the bench

        The site crashes on the first GW Saturday even during the deadline, prompting bunch of others unable to log in to make any last minute changes and some couldn't even join other leagues. I had a bit of a mixed up with accounts as well but had it all sorted out in the end. Never got to retrieve the other account due to same login details and sent an email to FPL about it too but let it go eventually. Didn't want anything to compromise the original account that I was using.

      As I understand it, they've overhauled the code that handles logins to guard against similar issues. Plus, we're all registered from last year so I don't think that will be an issue. I'm optimistic this season, although I'm still not leaving my team till Friday before kick-off 😉

        I planned to put in a team aimed at maximising the GW1 score (triple Chelsea, Reading, City plus 2 other players with a good home fixture) and change it the Saturday morning to my proper team if there were no login problems.

      Pardew mentioned the other day that he is going to take it easy with Saylor so he will definitely rotate with WIlliamson and maybe even Perch. Plus the fact that we are actively trying to sign another CB means it's a no from me for all 3.

    Any love out there for a Rooney/Tevez/Pogreb front three? Quite affordable, but lots of firepower (assuming Tevez a.stays & b.starts - hopefully safe-ish assumptions as he's too dangerous to leave on the bench for long)

    Pog is a bit of a gamble but at 5.0m there's not much to lose, at the end of the day it doesn't take many points to justify 5.0m, just the odd goal & assist here & there.
