We’ve got all the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) injury updates, team news and key manager quotes from seven more Premier League press conferences that were held today.

Scott Parker was also due to face the media but after his dismissal on Tuesday morning, it’s unclear whether anyone from Bournemouth will be taking questions from journalists.

We heard from nine top-flight bosses on Monday, five of them ‘live’ and four of them via some embargoed quotes held back from Saturday.

READ MORE: The key updates from Monday’s pre-match pressers

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Bruno Lage won’t be staging a live press conference for Gameweek 5, while Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag will only do so after the FPL deadline has passed.

We did get an update from Mikel Arteta, however, in quotes released from an embargoed section of his post-match presser on Saturday.

KEY UPDATES

PRESS CONFERENCE TIMES:

MANCHESTER CITY

The million-dollar question on many FPL managers’ lips was posed to Pep Guardiola in his pre-match press conference – and the answer was a predictable one:

“Tomorrow you will see.” – Pep Guardiola on whether Erling Haaland would start against Nottingham Forest

Guardiola didn’t provide us with much in the way of injury news but did reveal that Ilkay Gundogan‘s benching against Crystal Palace was partly attributed to a leg injury.

LIVERPOOL

Darwin Nunez (suspended), Thiago Alcantara (hamstring), Diogo Jota (thigh), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (hamstring), Caoimhin Kelleher (muscle), Ibrahima Konate (muscle) and Naby Keita (muscle) remain out but several names are nearing a return for Liverpool.

Curtis Jones (muscle), Joel Matip (muscle) and Calvin Ramsay (muscle) have all been back in training full this week, meanwhile.

“I think Diogo can train from Thursday on, Thiago I think slightly later. Calvin Ramsay is getting closer, Kelleher I saw walking outside for normal goalkeeper training. There’s light at the end of the tunnel.” – Jurgen Klopp

NEWCASTLE UNITED

Already without Callum Wilson (hamstring), Emil Krafth (knee) and Jonjo Shelvey (hamstring), Newcastle have been hit by more injury blows heading into Wednesday’s match at Anfield.

Bruno Guimaraes (hamstring) and Allan Saint-Maximin (hamstring) are significant doubts, although Kieran Trippier should at least be fine.

“He’s doing well. I don’t know about this game coming up, but hopefully not long after if he doesn’t make this game. He’s very positive, in good spirits, desperate to get back and be involved. He’s a big player for us and we need to get him back as quickly as possible. Just a slight hamstring.” – Eddie Howe on Bruno Guimaraes

The club are also facing a race against time to register Alexander Isak in time to play, although at least have up to 75 minutes before kick-off to do so.

“I don’t know, I still don’t know. I hope so, I desperately hope so. It’d be great to see him involved for us but we’re in the hands still of other people. So desperately hoping that gets done before the game but there’s no guarantee. It could go down to the wire.” – Eddie Howe

ARSENAL

Reiss Nelson (muscle) and Thomas Partey (thigh) appear to have been joined on the sidelines by Mohamed Elneny (hamstring), with media reports on Tuesday suggesting the Egyptian faces a spell out injured.

Mikel Arteta said he “didn’t think” that Oleksandr Zinchenko (knee) would be back for the visit of Aston Villa – but these were comments made on Saturday and local media seem more upbeat on his chances.

“I don’t think so. We still have to make another scan, especially on Thomas, to see the length but I don’t think they will be available. It is a similar area [to the one that kept Partey out last season], but hopefully not as bad.” – Mikel Arteta when asked if Oleksandr Zinchenko and Thomas Partey could be back for Villa

ASTON VILLA

Diego Carlos (Achilles) is the only definite absentee for Aston Villa’s clash with Arsenal but Steven Gerrard gave updates on Tyrone Mings (illness), Cameron Archer (hip) and Philippe Coutinho (fatigue) in his pre-match presser.

“Cameron Archer’s a doubt. He’s got a little bit of a hip issue. He came out of training yesterday and felt a little bit of discomfort. I don’t think it’s a big issue, I think it’s days. We’ll check on him today.

“Tyrone did a partial session yesterday after his high temperature and not feeling too good. We’re hoping he’ll do a full session today and will be available for us.

“Phil’s issue at the weekend was down to fatigue and cramp. He should be available, and we’ve still got a full session to go before so hopefully, we get through that.” – Steven Gerrard

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Orel Mangala (hamstring), Moussa Niakhate (hamstring) and Omar Richards (leg) are out of Wednesday night’s trip to face Manchester City.

“It’s not serious, it is a hamstring injury. It’s still a bit inconclusive of when he will come back, but it is more days and weeks, rather than any longer than that.

“We have to be a little bit careful, with it being a hamstring, but I saw him out on the grass running yesterday – with the physios, not with us. That is a step forward in his recovery.” – Steve Cooper

WEST HAM UNITED

David Moyes didn’t report any fresh fitness worries in his pre-match presser, saying only that the Sunday-Wednesday turnaround would “test the squad”.

New signing Lucas Paqueta seems unlikely to feature.

“He’s not trained with us yet, we’ve only got the paperwork done last night and we’re waiting on him arriving as he’s had to get his visa etcetera today. But look, he’s signed and that’s the important thing. He will be a big player for us.” – David Moyes on Lucas Paqueta

LEICESTER CITY

James Maddison is being assessed after a “twinge” in training last week forced him to sit out Gameweek 4 but Brendan Rodgers says he’s “hopeful” that the midfielder will be involved against Manchester United on Thursday.

The Foxes have no other fresh concerns.

“We’ve had most of the guys training and available as was for the weekend. [On] James Maddison, we’re hopeful, but we’ll see how he is tomorrow.” – Brendan Rodgers

Captained Cancelo, I think he starts RB with Walker benched and Gomez LB, this gw he outscores Haaland. I expect Haaland to be benched cause he is more useful away from home, but if he isn’t benched then Alvarez starts RW instead of ST so Cancelo makes more runs in the attack bec Alvarez is not a winger

When Pep was asked "When will Haaland be rotated?" he said "Tomorrow you will see it." I stilled captained Haaland I assume being benched means playing for 30 minutes, and if he is benched the entire game then I have Salah as vice captain.

    My defecne TAA/Cancelo/Dias/Perisic/Gabriel

People will not be able to get Perisic this week and James next week. I have the ability to get hauls from both 😀

Why can't people get Perisic this week and James next week?

A lot of people don't have Perisic because he is too risky, James is not playing this week because he is sick, so people transferred him out and they may not have enough money to transfer him back in for next week if he is better in 3 days.

    ***Gross price rise imminent***

    Would you...
    A) Neto & Ward to Iversen & Gross (free)
    B) Don't rush. Let it pass.

If I miss the price rise, I'm out priced and will be forced to look into other moves.
