The Scoreboard presents all the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) numbers you need from Saturday’s matches on one screen.

As well as LiveFPL‘s rundown of the goals, assists and bonus points from the day’s FPL action, we’re bringing you a selection of the Opta stats that arrive in our Premium Members Area almost immediately after full-time in each fixture.

Our usual Scout Notes article, which summarises more of the main FPL talking points, notable manager quotes and injury news in extra detail, will follow later.

BRIEF ROUND-UP

Erling Haaland’s (£12.2m) no-show was the big FPL story of the day, the Norwegian striker failing to make the matchday squad for Manchester City’s win over Leicester City. Pep Guardiola offered his usual smorgasbord of stock answers (“we’ll see”, “hopefully” and “don’t know”) when asked about Haaland’s chances of recovering for Gameweek 15 after the game.

The good, the bad and the so-so summed up the fortunes of the main back-up captains in Haaland’s absence: top-scoring FPL midfielder Kevin De Bruyne (£12.4m) registered a double-digit haul with a superb free-kick, Harry Kane (£11.5m) blanked for only the second time in 12 matches, and Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) couldn’t add any further attacking returns or bonus points to his early strike in Liverpool’s latest dismal defeat against Leeds.

The good times at Newcastle continued, with the Magpies hammering Aston Villa 4-0: Eddie Howe’s side had the highest expected goals (xG) tally and the lowest expected goals conceded (xGC) total of the day. Three of Saturday’s eight highest FPL scorers came from Tyneside, with Kieran Trippier (£5.8m) and Miguel Almiron (£5.5m) continuing their scintillating form and Callum Wilson (£7.3m) racking up 19 points after playing a part in all four of the hosts’ strikes.

Fixtures bred defensive returns for the ticker-topping Everton and Crystal Palace, who both banked clean sheets; goalkeepers Vicente Guaita (£4.5m) and Jordan Pickford (£4.5m) scored a combined 20 points as they were kept busy.

Frustration dogged some of the more well-owned assets as Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.9m) and Andreas Pereira (£4.6m) blanked despite registering 10 shots and seven chances created respectively, but at least they were in the thick of things: Wilfried Zaha (£7.6m), by contrast, had just one solitary shot against Southampton.

Phil Foden (£8.5m) was benched for the second successive Gameweek to further short-term concerns about his minutes, while game-time is something that Ivan Toney (£7.5m) definitely won’t have in Gameweek 15 after he picked up his fifth booking of the season.

Kane and Mitrovic collected their fourth cautions of 2022/23, meanwhile, so are now themselves a yellow card away from a one-match ban.

On the south coast, the wrong budget Bournemouth forward exploded as Kieffer Moore (£5.4m) grabbed a brace and 13 points, while Leandro Trossard (£6.8m) continues to torment former owners and fixtures-over-form managers as he scored in Brighton’s 4-1 thrashing of Chelsea: all seven of his league goals this season have come against sides that finished in the top eight in 2021/22.

Kepa has been an absolute joy to own since the wildcard.

Game 1. CS against Brentford (somehow), but is still outscored by Ward.

Game 2. On for a double digit haul, a last minute United equaliser (confirmed by goalline technology) puts him back down to 3 points. Ward gets 8.

Game 3. Injured and subbed off at half time. 0 points. Ward returns 3 against City.

Try getting rid of Ederson in gw11 (ready for the blank), moving to Sanchez then now to Allison.

Ward sitting on my bench the entire time...

I literally could have just played Ward this entire time and been heavily up on points.

My season is absolutely falling apart.

    I had a rank of 4,681 in gw10

    I'm now at 170,541 in gw14

Nearly every single one of my players seems destined to score a max of 1 point.

Talk about a chance of fortunes. Those first 10 weeks it was like I had stolen Lady Luck and locked her in my basement to grant my every wish. Every single week I'd get a flukey double digit haul.

FPL giveth, and FPL taketh away :X

Fusen - congratulations on brilliant start to season at 4,681.
Last 4 GWs lots of expected injuries & fixture loses.

Mine like a lot of ours is much worse with the most unpredictable Premier Fantasy League ever with the World Cup throwing things out the window, lots would like to be only at 170,541

Chin up - only two GWs before the WC & chance to recharge batteries & go again

As always, everything is in perspective and relative to a starting point.

People who are 5 million OR but we're at 7 million 2 weeks ago will be very happy with the direction they are going but unhappy overall

Someone who is 7th but just had a bad week and is now 350th will be gutted they were so close to the top and dropped away.

It isn't so much the rank itself, it's what the team is actually doing, and are the players going to turn it around to start scoring points or is it just going to get worse and worse

Kane & Saka seemed the most popular alternatives

A brace for Rashford and Martinelli today would likely push me into the Top 20k.

    Here's to hoping!

Not happening for Martinelli I'm afraid

Is it too much to ask for Saka, Martinelli and Ben White to each individually score a hattrick? Really, is it too much?

Full of regret at switching KDB - Foden over the blank & looking at options to reverse the move, especially to have KDB (C) if Haaland is a doubt. How would you enable the upgrade here?

    A) Cancelo - Ben Johnson
    B) Kane - Wilson
    C) Darwin - Solanke & play 442 with Estupinan

    Guiata
    Cancelo Trippier Perisic
    Foden Saka Martinelli Almiron
    Haaland Kane Darwin
    (Ward, Estupinan, Andreas, Sessegnon)
    1 FT, 1.2m itb

I’m considering Kane and Foden to Kdb and Wilson with a very similar team to yours.

Cheers. I think that's the way I'm leaning too after Kane picking up a 4th yellow & at risk of missing GW16

If Haaland is not fit another one I’m considering is Kane and Andreas to Wilson and Trossard benching Haaland and playing 352

      I'd say hold Foden tbh.

Remember, he scored against Liverpool then City needed to play him in their tough Champions League game. Pep said he was extremely tired so he's had his two game rest.

He'll be rested again midweek then be fresh for the PL games.

The big issue is captaincy though - I just can't trust Foden with that. I originally got KDB when Pep was talking up Haaland rotation, and only ditched him once it seemed like a backup captaincy option wasn't really necessary. But now we've kind of circled back around to that initial situation...

Foden won't play. He'll get solid mins in the dead-rubber UCL game then be firmly back on the bench for Fulham at the weekend. This is what he does when his FPL ownership goes over a certain threshold.

Just like how you can almost guarantee Wilson is getting injured next Saturday.

I'd do Darwin > Wilson, then cap Wilson if needs be.

Not a bad suggestion, thanks. But I'm very determined to get KDB and if there's any doubt over Haaland its non-negotiable for me

After new of Toney suspension for next Game week & players receiving one match ban up to game week 19 I was looking through the scout page & noticed the following which could be of interest with Haaland injury as well prior to making any changes.

Jesus, Saliba, Mitrovic, Kane all only one booking away from suspension as we move form GW14 into GW15 - possible another 5 more GWs with these players under threat
