I'm glad I got him as my James replacement but I wouldn't do it before City and Arsenal unless they get a DGW in 20.

I am considering but I am not convinced. Yet.

180 minutes against top 4 teams is not the best idea. But again, may be it is.

Spurs are not a top 4 team right now. I think that's an excellent fixture. United are playing well but Haaland did get a hatty against them earlier this season.

Yes will consider as unfettered from Champions League games so can be pretty confident plays both and United and Spurs both have defences he can haul against

Yeah this is part of my thinking too. City may have an easier DGW later in the season but when CL starts back there's a much higher chance of Haaland being rested.

Check the list of suspended fixtures, and fixtures that can still be suspended due to Cup games

There are better DGWs coming, and not just for Haaland. I think there'll be multiple TC DGWs this season, for assets from the likes of Haaland, Rashford, Arsenal, Liverpool, Kane and maybe even Trippier

If we were restricted to just the DGWs we're aware of, then yeah. But I think there are bigger gains from later

About City resting Haaland: if the title race is still alive, Haaland starts

Understood. I think even Haaland might have 2 better DGWs coming later, and he'll likely start both if the title race is alive (Aguerooooooo kinda moments). But yeah, it's a tough call

          Good luck 🙂

      Akanji

      Including 5m then Akanji IMO

      - Man City defence will come good, I think long-run they are still the best defensive team in the PL
      - potential 6 games in next 4DGW
      - rotation risk minimised by likely to start or not play at all (1pt games unlikely). Worst case, he gets Cancelo'ed then whatever, you have 4 good other DEFs and he wasn't that expensive

I'm pretty happy to run Trippier/Akanji plus whichever has the best matchup from the other 3 each week

Still probably Bueno? Don't think I want the benching headache of 5 quality def options.

      1. Casual Player
        • 5 Years
        2 years, 11 months ago

        Don't get benching headache concerns

You traditionally have a weak bench because pricing makes it difficult not to unless you also weaken your starting XI too much.

But this season it's pretty easy to build a very good 2 premium team. Maybe even a 1. This leaves money for a good bench.

So what you're then proposing is keeping money ITB and weakening your team overall just so you can avoid making a hard decision you might get wrong. It's 100% possible points foregone due to fear.

        1. gart888
          • 11 Years
          2 years, 11 months ago

Yeah fair enough, but keeping money ITB is also valuable because of the flexibility it gives you in transfers. Being able to stretch from Darwin to Kane when I want to is probably worth more than upgrading my 15th player to me.

        2. Ze_Austin
          • 7 Years
          2 years, 11 months ago

Yup. I'm against bench headaches when the funds are better spent on the XI

But in a season where only 4 premiums are doing (relatively) well, we have a whole lot more to play with

This rarely happens in FPL, but it's a thing in some other fantasy leagues like Eliteserien. Sometimes, the best forward in the league came in at 4.5m and you'll always start him, so that's a huge chunk taken out of the usually expensive forward line. So... Rotate your assets. It's a rare luxury, but it is a good one

I'll add this though: if bench headaches really, really stress you and cause anxiety, then that's a valid reason to avoid them.

Suspension for accumulating five yellow cards is competition-specific, so the FA Cup match is irrelevant.
FPL doesn't show him as banned, because he will be available again for GW20.

If Cancelo starts vs Chelsea, roll FT and start working towards this backline:

          Cancelo Trippier Schar/Botman Shaw White/Gabriel

If he's benched again, sell for Akanji now

Sort Iverson out soon, so you can bench Ward after his upcoming good run (or even sooner). Maybe DGW announcements will make his replacement clearer, but that's not an emergency

Don't touch that attack until you have a good reason to sell AND a good reason to buy the two players involved in that trade. As I see it, nobody in that attack is a fire sale

Half-season still ahead, with lots of chips and DGWs. I'm at 3m OR. Not bothered yet

Thanks so much Austin, that’s really useful info and advice there.

I agree with it all really, still lots of chips to play and DGW’s to come, just so annoying seeing rivals killing it and I look at my team and think HOW?! Haha!
Certainly agree about the defence. How I never brought in Shaw is beyond me as he was a shoe in. Will certisnot aim for that defence and sort Iversen out but the DGW’s will maybe make that easier as to who like ya say.

It’s just all so deflating right now, but all to play for still.

You're welcome. Many mistakes have been made, but your squad is actually just a few steps away from BB23, and you have the TC candidates

I was rather deflated by having to use my WC in GW18 to fix multiple self-inflicted unlimited transfer errors, and then the Robbo injury was a gut punch. But I've now somehow ended up on a 15-man squad I really like, so here's hoping

              Good luck to us 🙂

Cheers. Oh I already burnt the BB chip to get it out the way haha. All others Intact though.
A LOT if rivals have spurned their FH chips which will be critical for me later on to take advantage of.

Yeah I think I recall somewhere on here your post WC squad, it was awesome! Having a 15 man squad you’re proud of can it be a bad thing.
I really wanna use my WC now but I dunno, probs best hanging on to it.

Indeed good luck to us pal, here’s hoping Haaland doesn’t punish me too much against Chelsea! Haha

My team is set up for BB23. Things will have to go quite badly for me to end up pulling out of that. It's TC that will then be in a later DGW. There are easy 15-man squads for GW23 that even those with low TV can reach, especially if planning starts now

I don't think he'll have himself on his fantasy team

Too many reliable cheap options this season to even glance at a DM

To borrow a copyright for a moment (sorry Paul), but tonight was Football 0 Darts 4! I was so looking forward to the Arsenal v Newcastle game as I respect them both totally as the best performing teams this season. But I think there was more talent, intensity and excitement in “that” leg of 3 minutes between Smith and van Gerwin than in 90 minutes of this football game. Sorry, a truly appalling football match from start to finish! Even the ref had a ‘mare (booking Almiron for being 2 inches over the line – he is not even in my team!). Love football, but also love the darts!! BW xx

What a final eh? Now if he had taken out the 9darter to win the last leg and trophy, that would have been something.

Yeah 6 darts in (or was it 7?), that would have been amazing. Altough to be fair he had one already tonight!. Slightly dissapointed that MVG lost his sh*t a bit in the last 4 sets! (was hoping for a a 7-6!) but wow so much better than the football tonight! Although so was my lunch of cashew nuts and raisins!

Random question but does anyone know what has happened to Ted Wickman (Ted talks) for scout? Have I missed something? Noticed he has had a dead team for ages and has not done any content for ages?

I had forgotten about him. He seemed a great guy and very well spoken. I hole he's okay.

Very late to the party but i assume Mitro misses next game after booking? I never wish mis-fortune on others except when (no injury involved) you deliberated for 6 hours over Darwin to Mitro and for some stupid reason you choose against! x

Cheers bro. Damage limitation for us idiots who kept Darwin. I guess gutting to a degree but at least he scored. No disgrace in a 10 point captain. I have had so many worse probably 50% of the time. Kind of neutral for us all! x

      I did Robo to Shaw
Rather than take a -4 for Mitro I kept Kane & Darwin because of indecision on who to ship

    Can't decide between...

    A. Saka
    B. Ødegaard

Saka imo, odegaard gets into good positions but Saka makes those dangerous runs into the box more often. If funds are an issue then ode

Is Dunk worth extra 0.2m over Estupinan for safety of starts? (patterson replacement)

i feel like De Zerbi could thrown in Trossard at LWB once in a while to accommodate Evan ferguson up top and Mitoma on the wings

Ronaldo will popularize Saudi league the same way he did Serie A.

Thinking of the below transfers. 2 FT's which one would you prioritise?

      A. Rashford > Saka
      B. Mount > Almiron
      C. Darwin > Kane
      D. Andreas > Mitoma
      E. James > Schar or Botman

      Thanks
