Manchester City’s 6-0 hammering of Burnley in Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final tie – a match that featured yet another Erling Haaland (£12.0m) hat-trick – has implications for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers.

It means that Pep Guardiola’s side and Brighton and Hove Albion will now blank in Gameweek 32.

The two clubs had been due to meet at the Amex on Sunday 23 April but that Premier League fixture will now be postponed due to the clash with the FA Cup semi-finals.

WHO ELSE WILL BLANK IN GAMEWEEK 32?

Aside from Brighton v Man City, only one more fixture will be postponed in Gameweek 32: either Manchester United v Chelsea or Fulham v Leeds United.

The result of Sunday’s FA Cup tie between Man Utd and Fulham will dictate which scheduled Premier League match will fall by the wayside.

WHEN WILL BRIGHTON v MAN CITY BE PLAYED?

There are now five Premier League fixtures that need to be rearranged: three of them involve Brighton, two Manchester City:

OUTSTANDING FIXTURES THAT NEED REARRANGING
  • Newcastle United v Brighton and Hove Albion (originally in Gameweek 25)
  • Brighton and Hove Albion v Manchester United (originally in Gameweek 28)
  • Liverpool v Fulham (originally in Gameweek 28)
  • Manchester City v West Ham United (originally in Gameweek 28)
  • Brighton and Hove Albion v Manchester City (originally in Gameweek 32)
FIXTURES THAT WILL NEED REARRANGING
  • Fulham v Leeds United *OR* Manchester United v Chelsea (originally in Gameweek 32)

Gameweeks 34 and 37 will incorporate the majority of the outstanding fixtures, very likely including Brighton v Man City.

The current thinking is that Newcastle United v Brighton will be the one postponed match that is rescheduled outside of Gameweeks 34/37, potentially as soon as Gameweek 30/31.

Brighton v Man Utd could, in theory, slot into Gameweek 32 if both clubs lose their FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday but this scenario looks highly unlikely, with the Seagulls facing League Two outfit Grimsby Town in their last-eight clash.

We hope to get a fixture announcement over the March international break to clear up any outstanding issues.

1 FT and will BB. I might roll or maybe Zinc to Shaw, no sure it is wise to get rid f Arsenal mids for another doubler?

    Maybe Odegaard to Bruno?

    Current Team

    Raya

    Chilwell / Trippier / Schar / Estupinan

    Mitoma / March / Rashford

    Watkins / Kane / Toney

    Kepa | Saka | Odegaard | Zinc

    Thanks

Shaw was on my mind until Casemiro's suspension. Those two fixtures suddenly look as tough as they should normally be for Man U's defence

I think I'd roll here and ply the BB too, as you're covered everywhere. Planning Toney to Haaland for GW30?

Yes for both, BB GW29 and Haaland back in for GW30.

I nearly brought in Maddison this week as he was on my watchlist, but buy most accounts he was poor yesterday as were Leicester collectively.

Looking like Salah will be a differential in DGW29. Worth holding if you can afford

No idea which version of Liverpool (and thus Salah) will turn up in our next three games, while some other midfield assets have been more consistent

Even if he blanks in his next three matches, I'll probably still get him for the run-in from GW31

If I had him now and held through the missed pen and BGW28, I'd definitely keep him too. Could be anything from three blanks or 30+ points in the next 3

He's also an easy switch back to KDB when City double

I think I'll get Foden instead, probably for Maddison in GW34. Salah has a double in GW34 too

What are Liverpool's likely doubles in GW34?

Definitely worth keeping for those fixtures

Salah could do well on the counter away from home against teams expected to attack

He could, but what are the better options in the double and looking forward for your team with that money ?

can't see any obvious better options worth a hit

Yip, it would likely be two transfers to get the benefit of his value by strengthening else where at the same time.

I sold him for Maddison this week so already gained the benefit and I think I would prefer Maddison in 29 anyway

Conte seems to have lost the dressing room and might even get sacked. But till he stays, lose Kane? And for whom? Have Haaland and Toney.

Spurs have looked troubled since early in the season. They've lacked creativity or spine, looked incoherent, lost control of games, and been embarrassed... Kane is on 182 points

I'm personally not considering selling him until *he* has problems (form, stats, starts, injuries), not the team

Is -8 worth it to play the BB? Need to ship Ward, Andreas and Tark and get 3 DGWers. Also WCing in 30.

Can you work towards BB34 for free instead? You don't need everybody to have a double for a good BB. I think you'll just need good fixtures for most/all players. See the high scores some FPL managers reached with BB27

Unless these BB29 hits are for upgrades you want long-term, of course

Tbf, want to get my BB out of the way and focus on my XI in my WC30. Keeping BB for 34 will affect my team selection in WC30 somewhat is my concern.

I think you'll lose more from a -8 than from that. If you really just want to get it out of the way, then don't let it influence your WC30 decisions. Just play the chip any time fixtures align for 2 to 3 of the players on your bench

Steele, Mitoma and Veltman will be my 3 purchases if I go that route

Would you bench boost? I think no. I have my wildcard FH and BB still to use.

What's your plan for the three chips?

I have WC, FH and BB remaining.
I was planning to GW29 BB with the following (with maybe one or two(-4) adjustments:-

    Raya - Ward
    Estupinan - Chilwell - Trippier - White - Mings
    Rashford - Odegaard - Saka - Mitoma - Maddison
    Kane - Toney - Watkins

The issues with a BB are -
    Ward (dropped)
    Estupinan (possibly one fixture)
    Mings, Watkins (two away fixtures)
Toney (one YC away from 2-match ban)
    Raya (not great fixtures)
No Haaland (8 goals in 3 or 4 days)

Could it be more productive to WC GW29 - sort out keepers, bring in Haaland, Isak etc and BB at a later DGW?

If only Saka could score a hat trick in his life, all would be forgiven.

Saka, if you are reading this, I dare you, I double dare you to score a hat trick that you cannot!

Best goalkeeper for the double GW? Was happy playing Ward but now he's out
