Suspensions

Can FPL players still get a ban for yellow card accumulation?

In this regular article, we look at the latest Fantasy Premier League (FPL) disciplinary situation.

And we bring you good news, for once: not one player can now pick up a ban for yellow card accumulation.

WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS FOR SUSPENSIONS?

The table above is taken from the Football Association website and details the cut-off points for the various yellow card thresholds.

Every team has now contested 32 fixtures.

THE RACE TO (AVOID) 15 BOOKINGS

The next target to avoid for Premier League players is 15 bookings by the end of the campaign.

Joelinton (£6.0m) can still reach that number but any suspension he picks up would be served in 2023/24.

    Good morning, folks!

Cheers Neale, I missed these midweek GWs, always a fun level of panic with post-deadline pressers

Yeah and there's a good chance we won't hear from some managers ahead of the deadline. Six clubs playing on Thursday so most will likely speak on Wednesday, although there may be one or two of those tomorrow.

Nacho could be gold this week and a nice enabler for those wanting to get Salah. Good fixture in 34(EVE) as well.

Don't see much reason to go Nacho over Isak atm.

Isak also has 2 great games and has a DGW in 36 as well.

Problem with the enabler is will you start him? I think you either want someone like Isak who you'll play, or just downgrade completely and perma-bench

Fair point but there are other fwds i'd prefer. Nacho is too short term for me

    On WC33 BB34.

Will have DDG Rash March Mitoma as other doubles.

    A) Estup & Martial
    B) Shaw & Welbeck
    C) Estup & Isak
    D) shaw & isak

Isak for sure. With United's defensive injuries Shaw may play in the middle more (although he got forward a lot from there in Sunday) so i'd be tempted to go C

Plan was Bruno/Toney > Salah/Isak but I’m now short with Isak’s price rises, who’s the best alternative? Thinking Solanke.

I think i'm doing Saka to Salah this week and taking a hit to fund it. Will want to make a FT in 34 as well so might as well get the hit over with. I think the options are:

    a. Kane to Isak
    b. Kane to Jota (probably moving on to Isak by 36)
    c. Kane to fodder (means I don't have to choose between benching Rashford/Martinelli in 33 and between Watkins/Martinelli in 34)

    DDG - ______
    TAA - ______ - ______ - ______ - Estupinan
    Grealish - Salah - March - Rashford - Mitoma
    Haaland - Iask - Jota

    A) Iversen - Schar - Akanji - Dalot
    B) Edersen - Botman - Coufal - Dalot

    Martinez
    Stones Trippier Moreno
    Rashford Saka Grealish Mitoma
    Haaland Wilson Watkins
    (Steele MacAllister TAA Shaw)

Few dilemmas, which haven't been helped after the weekend fixtures:

    A) Martinez over Steele? (Decision may be made for me, or I may have no keeper)
    B) Unsure on playing Moreno, was subbed for Digne at 65mins but only about 76hrs between Saturday and tomorrow's game, worried the opposite will happen
    C) With Veltman back I definitely want to play MacAllister but not sure who to drop. Nearly tempted by Rashford after the 120mins yesterday and he hasn't looked the best since his return either. Also a bit worried MacAllister may get a rest after yesterday himself given Enciso is there
    D) Should I do Saka to Salah this week or roll FT and do it next week? Leaning next week

Think I'm set on playing Wilson, I think he'll play given the short turnaround (and even shorter between Everton and Soton) so I'm just going to chance that, has a good record against Everton too (6 goals in 5)

    1. Biggsy
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 9 Years
      1 year, 14 days ago

A - may need to wait for the pressers
      B - I'd start Trent over Moreno
C - I am also leaning to benching Rashford. Scoring record away from home isn't all that great either and for all the reasons you mentioned it might not be a good one for him. But a lot of those apply to Brighton as well, albeit that Rashford gets more rest with the Thursday game.
D - Only reason I'm going this week is that I think I want to add Chilwell to Trent so I'll take a hit before 34 in any case. Would probably be tempted to roll and do it next week.

      A) Not much in it, but Steele I think
      B) Suspect the subbing might have been to keep him fresh for midweek, but if unsure Trent is fine - will surely concede but I think you play him as an attacker.
      C) I reckon Enciso will be needed up front if Welbeck has a knock (as it looked) & Ferguson isn't ready, especially since Undav was pretty poor. I would definitely start Mac & expect him to play the 10 role.
      D) Think I would get Salah now, but rolling is fine. Can see goals for Arsenal & Saka may be up against a rusty Laporte (or if you're really lucky, Gomez! But I doubt that)

        • 3 Years

Cheers mate. Think I'm going to roll FT, figure I'll hope Wilson starts and then if he does I'll use the other FT to move to Isak, if not then I'll hope he plays v Soton next week. Feels like the latter will happen and I'll just be saying until GW38 "he has to be due to start" 😛

    Johnstone Iversen
    Trippier TAA Toti Akanji Dalot
    Rashford Grealish Salah Mitoma March

It's a tough one because the only midfielders that I would say is nailed every game for city are Rodri and Gundo. Grealish is probably a safe bet but don't think he'll play both games in the double
