Suspensions

In this regular article, we look at the latest Fantasy Premier League (FPL) disciplinary situation.

And we bring you good news, for once: not one player can now pick up a ban for yellow card accumulation.

WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS FOR SUSPENSIONS?

The table above is taken from the Football Association website and details the cut-off points for the various yellow card thresholds.

Every team has now contested 32 fixtures.

THE RACE TO (AVOID) 15 BOOKINGS

The next target to avoid for Premier League players is 15 bookings by the end of the campaign.

Joelinton (£6.0m) can still reach that number but any suspension he picks up would be served in 2023/24.

What is the case with Steele injury? GW 34 approaching...

PS: WC26 Sanchez+Ward here. After that transferred in Kepa and Steele. Would be nice to see Steele being injured in dgw34.

Yeah, I am on Tripps, Botman and Estu with the same back 5. Don't see Shaw keeping a clean sheet and if he is at centre-back his attacking returns will be limited.

At the same time I don't like playing Botman as don't see New keeping CS and Botman won't give anything more...actually may punt and play Chilwell

      C. You don't want to lock huge value in non-playing goalkeeper, so DDG is enough. And Tripper has double GW 36, Akanji GW34 & GW 37.

I fear by the time I make my moves for 34, i'll be priced out.. Currently have exact funds for:

    GW33: Kane to Jota
GW34: Saka + Maddison to Salah + Rash

Would you take the risk of being priced out by 0.1 or take the -8 hit now (which doesnt feel great)...

only other option would be to pick isak instead of jota and leave me enough in 34 to get rash and salah

    Raya Kepa
    White Tripper Shaw Veltman Mings
    Saka Marti Mito Mac Maddison
    haaland kane watkins

You will need a -4 if you split it so its really only -4 to avoid being priced out. That said, I'd probably look at 2 for a hit this week and then reassess if you get priced out. Deadline is only tomorrow so you can make the move tomorrow after deadline and only one round of price changes (albeit risk of injuries etc etc)

      1. tibollom
        • 9 Years

yea so I could do kane and maddison to jota and rash and then quickly get salah just after deadline

Potentially. Although if I was risking not getting one of Jota, Rashford and Salah, I wouldn't want Mo to be the one at risk. I don't think either of Rashford or Jota are vital this week either.

          1. tibollom
            • 9 Years
            2 years, 7 months ago

totally agree but thats my main issue, cant get salah without selling kane.. kane to jota doenst leave me enough to get salah

Isak is not a bad choice - probably no more of a rotation risk than Jota and has a nice single fixture in 33 and 34. You'd probably be moving Jota to Isak later anyway. But I guess you'd do it this week which means you are hedging your bets that price changes go against you. But at least it means you aren't having to make transfers with 70% of the gameweek left

yea exactly.. thanks biggsy, its a tough one as jota is interesting for the DGW and would then shift to Isak for his... tough decisions.. price rise im concerned as its rash and salah im trying to get in. and people will be selling madders and saka for sure

    2. Shearer & Sutton

      GW33:Kane -> Jota
GW34 White, Maddison & Saka -> TAA, Salah Andreas -8.
      Is that possible?

      1. tibollom
        • 9 Years

yea that could work for sure although still leaves me with my issue of price rise.. im actually short 0.1 of those moves

    Current squad:

    Kepa
    Shaw - Trip - Estupinan
    Saka - Mitoma - Fernandes - Grealish
    Haaland - Kane - Watkins

Raya - Mac Allister - Botman - Mee

Was thinking going either Saka to Rashford or Kane to Jota this week.

Then next week will be other transfer + Fernandes to Salah (C) for -4.

    Thoughts?

I think the issue is that United defence tends to be good or bad. There is no middle ground. We've conceded a lot of goals away from home, but are strong at OT. That said, I think Brighton were wasteful on Sunday. Just off the beat when it came to the final ball/shot

Think they’re both rotations risks, no? Could easily be Lindelof and Maguire at CB, Shaw at LB, then those two competing for the one spot again

Dalot the more exciting but if memory serves AWB was selected to manage Mitoma and Villa good on the break (Ramsey on the right?). I’m thinking of him for the DGW

        Thanks all for the responses.

I'm priced out of getting Shaw or Id need to do a lot of restructuring.

        With the budget I have, it comes back down to;
        Dalot
        AWB
        Lindeolf

The bottom 2 would free up more cash, but I guess who would be more nailed especially for the DGW?

        Thanks

Firstly, Congratulations on smashing Spurs. The first 20 minutes was awesome and as a Isak owner very enjoyable. With West Ham having a great result it was a pretty good weekend............Well done fella.

I would roll mate, too much unknown regarding possible injuries to Rash, Bruno, and if Brighton rotate after 120 mins. Team looks good and would roll in case you want to bring in any Liverpool for next week........

Schar benching because of the injury? I'd have backed a CS over Chilwell who is not only likely to concede but looking less likely to get anything at the other end.

I think Mac A is just the right call. Tough, and i'm tempted by Rashford myself

Most essential for dgw34 if you could only have one?

    A. Jota
    B. TAA

If B, I need to make the move now before Chilwell price drops and means waiting a week before I can do Saka to Salah.

On a WC. No BB to plan for so leaving little value on the bench for the run in.

Major decision is Grealish vs Rashford.

Thoughts on draft below appreciated. Thanks!

    DDG (Iverson)
    TAA; Botman; Dunk (Toti; Neco)

Looks good all you've got missing is City D coverage. Can you afford DDG, Tori/Neco and Isak to Ederson, Shaw and Solanke ? Isak gives you a benching headache this GW, and you are unlikely play him GW34 or GW35 so you could hold off getting him until DGW36 (probably for Jota who doesn't double after GW34)

Thanks man. Have the City triple up already if I go with Grealish.

Will play Isak this GW and bench March (after yesterday’s exertions in the cup and the penalty miss). Bench in 34 unless injuries and then we’ll see in 35. Prefer not to pencil in too many transfers at this stage.

I note your comment above but don't see City any more likely to keep CS - always seem to concede 1 even when they score a hatful. Isak has a nice single, even if the double is more appealing for Jota

You’ll probably sell TAA for Dias in 37 and Jota for Isak in 36 either way.

        I don't think so tbh.

The Pool player I buy next will most likely be there until the end of the season. Their run-in is very good and I have other positions that could be flipped like Watkins > Isak or Zinchenko > TAA.

I guess if you plan to hold the Pool player then TAA might be the better shout as he’s more nailed to start all games. Watkins could still be the better option than Jota come GW36.

Dias looks a decent option too if you don’t have or plan to get Ederson but ideally keep a spot open for a City mid in GW37.

      A. City defence just not worth it and I think A has a great ceiling anyway

    Ederson
    Trippier Chilwell Estu
    Bruno Rashford Mitoma March
    Kane Haaland Watkins

    (Kepa Odegaard Shaw Botman)

    A) Bruno ➡️ Grealish
(Chilwell, Odegaard & Kane to TAA, Salah & Gwood -8 GW34)

    B) Bruno & Kane ➡️ Salah & Isak -4
    (Chilwell & Odegaard ➡️ TAA & Periera -4 GW34)

    C) Save FT
    (Chillwell, Odegaard & Kane to Robbo/Dias, Salah & Gwood -4 GW34)

Basically can’t afford both TAA & Salah without selling both Bruno & Kane. So if keeping Bruno have to sacrifice TAA.
    Thoughts please?

Currently own three Newcastle and Brighton players: Trip, Estu and Mitoma. Want to bring one more in with free transfer. Who would you buy?

I may be guilty of a bit of sunken cost fallacy here but if Bruno is fit, on yesterday’s evidence, he’s getting back into good positions and I’m quite encouraged about keeping him for 34. Owners live in hope!
