Arsenal head to Newcastle United on bank holiday Sunday in the sixth match of Gameweek 35.

Both teams enjoyed 3-1 wins in their most recent games, beating Chelsea and Southampton respectively.

Eddie Howe makes just one change to his Newcastle starting XI, with Callum Wilson coming in for Anthony Gordon, who drops to the bench.

That means Wilson and Alexander Isak start together for the first time in the Premier League, an intriguing development with Double Gameweek 36 on the horizon.

As for Arsenal, Gabriel Magalhaes is fit to start despite taking a knock in midweek, with Mikel Arteta’s only alteration seeing Gabriel Martinelli replace Leandro Trossard.

GAMEWEEK 35 LINE-UPS

Newcastle United XI: Pope, Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn, Guimaraes, Joelinton, Willock, Murphy, Isak, Wilson

Subs: Dubravka, Dummett, Gordon, Saint-Maximin, Lewis, Targett, Manquillo, Almiron, Anderson

Arsenal XI: Ramsdale, White, Kiwior, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Jorginho, Odegaard, Xhaka, Saka, Martinelli, Jesus

Subs: Turner, Tierney, Partey, Smith Rowe, Nketiah, Holding, Trossard, Vieira, Nelson

      Going to go for Wilson, personally. Unless this game suggests otherwise.

    Take a couple of players out of that arsenal side and they are looking really average with that line up today

    Need a better squad for the next challenge

      5 of the Newcastle starters today were relegation candidates under Steve Bruce.

        Yes, but Newcastle improved the spine of their team. If your spine is strong, you can get away with some rubbish on the outsides. Almiron a classic example of a player who has improved because the spine is strong. Put him in a team with a weak spine and he would go back to how he was before.

        Pope, Botman, Bruno Guimaraes and Isak (plus Trippier's experience) has allowed ordinary players like Burn, Joelinton, Almiron to play well.

          This is true. It’s also a reason why Man United aren’t doing as well as they should be doing as they didn’t sort out their striker compared to Newcastle having two good options up top.

            Newcastle create chances through team work and Man Utd rely on individual moments from their stars.

              I’d say they both rely on teamwork and individual moments from their stars.

                Maybe I don't watch enough of Man Utd, but I haven't noticed the repeated patterns of play and player movement that I see with Newcastle.

    If Wilson bangs today he’s a must right? (Already have Isak). My only options to get to him would be to downgrade KDB to a cheaper City MF (Mahrez?) or take a -4 to replace KDB with Bruno (the -4 necessary to sell Dalot to free up a United spot). Any thoughts / advice greatly appreciated. Although I hate bits Bruno is guaranteed 90 mins when fit whilst City MF is likely to remain a lottery with them still challenging on three fronts

        Of course. I did caveat the point with “if Wilson bangs”. I guess it depends how they play the Ferber as they’ve only had cameos on the pitch at the same time. And also how Longstaff is with Howe saying he’ll see a specialist next week re his foot problem. Very tempting if they both play the double though no?

          Using winning a one team joke league as a benchmark isn't a good idea. Gerrard prime example.

    Before it gets messy in here, any last minute feedback please? GW36 conundrum, team then questions;

    Steele²
    Stones, Shaw, Burn²
    Salah, Rashford, Grealish, Mitoma²
    Haaland(c), Kane, Wilson²

    Kepa, Estu, White, Andreas*

    As it stands, but my questions queries;

    A) Steele or Kepa v NOT? - Two tricky away games against teams who both need results, especially Arsenal or Kepa against a Forest side who are poor on the road?
    B) Estupinan benched instead of the rest of the squad, as above, already playing Steele do I want a defensive double up? Maybe bench Stones to start Estu?
    C) 1FT & 1.1ITB, Andreas > Willock, if yes who do I bench, Grealish?

    I had Watkins, just swapped him for Wilson last night, was smart because of the rise, but annoying as praying he doesn't get injured today now.
