    Chilwell and Maddison OUT,
    Stones and Foden IN

I know how this game works.

Honestly, I don't understand why people are selling Foden. The fixtures are really good for City.

Agreed, I sold him though, but I am going to get Alvarez IN for gw3. The only drawback is I won't be getting Jackson for the foreseeable.

But it was a comment Richard on Fantasy Hub made that it is important to get a City attacker - as Haaland's ownership means you have none, in effect

I am starting to think the Alvarez will force his way into more regular minutes - Pep seems to really rate him.
Foden is an odd one he is almost 'too versatile' ends up everywhere.

I was watching Alvarez closely the last day seems like a much better option FPL wise than Foden and 1m cheaper.

You don't need a City attacker for coverage. You pick the player with the highest potential and tbh, I don't think a City player outside of Haaland is worth it considering expected mins and team goal involvement.

Which makes Alvarez a much better option IMO. To be honest I think KDB is virtually finished as a footballer. I predict he could be 6.5m next season in FPL and people will be debating whether he can regain his form/fitness. He is 32 now .
Alvarez on the other hand could get a price hike - as he will have had more points and minutes than the previous season. He is 23 now.

I looked at my ML rivals and can't help but think that season starts as a 9 players competition since everyone own Rashford and Haaland.

That still leaves 80% of the team to play with but in future gameweeks if you want to have fun just go without them. No one is forcing you to own them.

Plenty of ways to play it rotation pairs Eze/Diaby
MGW/Tarkowski etc. Or even Awoniyi he is 0.6% owned and faces Sheff Utd next. Played 20 minutes v Arsenal and should start next gameweek.
You just have to think of the alternatives.

Timber's injury creates a space for Gabriel. The Partey RB experiment cost the Forest goal.

It's true but that was a heel off a counter by Forrest. They wanted it more than Arsenal on that rush.

Tomiyasu just comes in for Timber at LB if Arteta wants to persist with that setup

Arsenal 0.79 xG vs Forest 1.25 xG says it all about that experiment. Arteta is so desperate to be seen as a master tinkerer like Pep, it's going to cost him in bigger games.

I expect Gabriel to play next game, but I don't think the Timber injury has any bearing on that - I believe he was just dropped to have an extra player coming into midfield in Partey.

Can't imagine they'd set up that way away to palace, so I guess we'll probably see White moving to RB and Gabriel coming in as LCB. If we're talking about the LB spot, Zinchenko, Kiwior and Tomi are all ahead of him.

I think if you wanted Chilwell before Luton then starting with him was the play. If you think you've seen the error in your ways then a -4 isn't going to kill you to rectify it :).

Pickford is arguably on par with Areola and Turner as a pick. If either was 4.5 you wouldn't be saying this. It's just something we associate with cheaper players which actually doesn't make sense.

When Brighton fixtures get bad, what are people doing with Estupinan? I have seen some content creators and people here saying he is a season keeper and they will bench or rotate him?
He has trash fixtures GW4 - 9 with one good one, I have no intention of keeping him. He will probably lose significant value also. Better sell him then buy him again for cheaper.

Saliba/Henry rotation gives me FUL, BOU, eve, EVE, bou so if I want James then Estupinan is the one to make way.

I originally planned on shipping Estu to maybe Botman in a few GWs. He's looked better than I thought he would.

In terms of the Newcastle fixture, his runs into the inside forward channel could cause us problems. For all the positives about Tonali on Saturday, he didn't pick up the same defensive positions that Longstaff does and drifted in field, which may expose Trippier a bit more.

He has 3 weeks left for me to monitor. If his attacking potential is still extremely high he's a super easy hold. If not, and Brighton look defensively suspect, then sell for James seems reasonable.

But he has. Neymar has league titles, domestic cups, and the Champions League in his back pocket.

              Santos

              Copa do Brasil: 2010
              Campeonato Paulista: 2010, 2011, 2012
              Copa Libertadores: 2011
              Recopa Sudamericana: 2012

              Barcelona

              La Liga: 2014–15, 2015–16
              Copa del Rey: 2014–15, 2015–16, 2016–17
              Supercopa de España: 2013
              UEFA Champions League: 2014–15
              FIFA Club World Cup: 2015

              Paris Saint-Germain

              Ligue 1: 2017–18, 2018–19, 2019–20, 2021–22, 2022–23
              Coupe de France: 2017–18, 2019–20, 2020–21;
Coupe de la Ligue: 2017–18, 2019–20
              Trophée des Champions: 2018, 2020, 2022

              -
At least Neymar was not like Kane. Who prior to Bayern chasing a manufactured 'record' which only works if you pretend football in England did not exist before 1992.

That is a paltry trophy cabinet for a player who was getting mentioned alongside Messi and Ronaldo during their peaks. 2 meaningful league titles and a single Champions League in the last 10 years (never mind no World Cup or Ballon d'Or) is poor for a player who was expected to become one of the greatest players ever.

Nobody respects French titles won with PSG.

When you look at it from that viewpoint I agree, but what are they only bits of metal? Neymar is clearly enjoying himself, no pressure, big money.

n any other industry people would jump at that. and it would never be questioned

I just thought of the other end of the 'Neymar Scale' - Matt Le Tissier. He could have earned big money but stayed put at Southampton. He was happy where he was.
Although Le Tissier was not motivated by money, like Neymar many would accuse him of 'lacking ambition' whatever that means.

Those 'bits of metal' are what defines a player's legacy. It's the reason why PSG spunked £200m on Neymar in the first place, and he's failed to deliver what they expected.

Le Tissier is obviously a few sandwiches short of a picnic, so he's probably not the best example for anything except banning headers in training.

Interesting story and a couple of good quotes.

            This one is illuminating...

This is what Bogarde himself had to say about the situation: “This world is about money, so when you are offered those millions you take them, few people will ever earn so much. I am one of the few fortunates who do.

I may be one of the worst buys in the history of the Premiership but I don’t care.”

Obviously, he's nearly 10 years younger than him. Peak Neymar is better than Mbappe though.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, my mistake, but I meant that peak Mbappé is better than peak Neymar. The latter might be more skilful, but in terms of end product I think it's the Frenchman who comes out on top. He's already won the World Cup, and when Neymar won the Champions league he had Messi and Suarez alongside him.

You can't use Neymar's teammates against him then bring up Mbappe's World Cup as if he didn't win it with Griezmann, Pogba, Kante, etc.

Mbappe currently has 212 goals for 260 games for PSG (1.22 goals per game) - Neymar had 105 goals in 186 games in La Liga (1.77 goals per game), a much tougher league, so this end product argument isn't true either.

Something wrong with your maths there. 216 in 260 games = 0.83 goals per game. 106 goals in 186 games is 0.57 goals per game. You've shown the reciprocals.

He's one of interest. The conventional view is he's an FPL-unfriendly DM, but I do agree that with Caicedo coming in, Enzo will play further up and will have assists in his locker.

My only problem is that he takes up a Chelsea spot and I might at some point prioritize Chilwell, Jackson, Colwill and James before Enzo.

Watch the ManU v Wolves game and see how Wolves are doing, defensively. Pedro for Jackson or Foden may be better.

Whoever it is will punish you horribly... Unless you decide to go with no real bench.... At which point you'll have guys pepped, injured, sick....lol. in having the same debate... Deciding between Wissa and Pedro...

I'd say he is until they sign another attacking midfielder. I picked him hoping he'd be the new dele alli with nkunku out, but I know they're linked with olise now and probably a few others

Olise is RW. I still think once Caicedo is in place at #6, Gallagher would be better suited at #10.

Olise played as a 10 plenty of times for Reading, so it’s far from an alien position for him.

Don't think so. Might get a few starts short-term but the pivot will be Enzo/Caicedo, so he'd be competing with Gallagher among others for the 10

Foden was very good on the RW against Newcastle at the Etihad last season.

    Didn’t see Spurs
    Destiny Udogie an option?
    How did he play?

As expected - lively, attacking as a FB in a #8 role, in a defence that won't keep a clean sheet.
