Gameweek 3 offers up a window of opportunity for Fantasy managers who so far have not seen a return on investment from Manchester United assets such as Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes, as struggling Nottingham Forest make the trip to Old Trafford.

Smarkets is again offering markets on these two players to pick up points, with the line set at over 7.5 for both players.

Arsenal host Fulham in what looks to be a favourable fixture for Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian assumed penalty duties on Monday night’s game versus Crystal Palace, which strengthens his appeal – he can be backed to score over 6.5 points. Smarkets are also offering a head-to-head match-up between the two wingers, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

In the absence of Ivan Toney, Brentford’s two attackers, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoana Wissa, have impressed. Both rank among the highest-scoring players this season so far and they’ll both look to build on that when they face Crystal Palace at home on Saturday. Smarkets are offering an interesting head-to-head, with Mbeumo looking a great bet due to his penalty-taking duties alongside his position as a midfielder granting him additional points for a goal and a clean sheet.

There are markets on the usual suspects such as Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak and Mohamed Salah, with Pervis Estupinan and Raheem Sterling making their first appearances of the season on Smarkets.

Smarkets’ own pick for the bet of the week is Erling Haaland to score over 8.5 points. At the time of writing, Smarkets is offering odds of 3.5 (5/2) on this outcome. This means if you bet £10, you would make a profit of £25 were Haaland to beat his points target against newly promoted Sheffield United. He could reach this with two appearance points, and a combination of either one goal and maximum bonus, one goal and one assist or two or more goals.

    Best option in Spurs defence?

    Porro / Emerson looks uncertain
    Romero is a yellow card merchant

    Guess that leaves VDV or Udogie ?

    Hi FFS comment auditors.

    Can the team address the recent bbc article/ media attention on FPL and gambling, particularly the impact on young people.

    Can you also explain why you don’t post anti gambling/ self help/ support articles to balance your relentless gambling partner articles?

    Appreciate the website/ content needs paid for but this site used to have a fantastic community feel which is being eroded by such poor decision making.

    Looking forward to hearing back

      FFS is deaf to any request for a comment regarding media attention re promoting gambling with regard to fantasy football & its impacts on the young or vulnerable. The only way this Govt would be forced to listen to concerns is if a petition to Parliament were to raise enough signatures to force a debate within the House of Commons. Even if this were the case I wouldn't hold my breath on this corrupt administration dealing with the problem. Sites such as this & the gambling corporations know this & know they can perpetuate this filth without fear of consequence.

      Hi SouthCoastSaint,

      Thanks for your comment. We are hoping to post something on this soon. We have heard the feedback and have implemented a gambling filter on site for those who don't wish to see the betting ads, but we know we can do more to help those who struggle with this.

            Hi Ed, thanks for taking the post seriously. It was meant to be constructive as I think showing you are listening would go a long way with your users/members.

            Not naive and understand “got to pay the bills” but the relentless gambling advertising in recent years seems to have ripped the soul out of the site. You do have a moral responsibility and championing gambling support (NOT gambling awareness or safe deposits or any of that surface level nonsense) should be such an easy win to generate good will.

            Think lack of response around the bbc post was highly disappointing though appreciate you were probably talking about things internally.

            A filter is ‘something’ but unsure it addresses the core issue of using fantasy football interest to drive gambling activity (however you dress this up, this is what it is)

    * Maguire bid accepted but no personal agreement, deal collapses
    * Pavard move off
    * Donny van de Beek - Real Sociedad stalled
    * Eric Bailly exit stalled
    * #11 affair / chaos
    * Takeover stalled
    * Tom Heaton injured & 'out for a while'
    * PL game 1 - 'that performance' v wolves
    * PL game 2 - Defeat vs spurs
    * Mason Mount injured & out for 4-6 weeks
    * potential incomings stalled
    * Onana potential international comeback & going to Afcon

      1. Andy_Social

        Assuming Eriksen steps in, it won't make that much difference except Bruno stays a bit higher (I'm starting Bruno).

      2. x.jim.x
        • 11 Years

        I hope that Eriksen comes in for him and we play with a double-pivot like last season. The worst-case scenario would be that Ten Hag keeps the same system and plays him as a second 10 (like he has with Mount) and Casemiro gets stranded in midfield again, with even less help than before.

        You'd hope it would spark some change (especially with him not being pressured into playing his star signing) but these managers are stubborn as mules at times.

        Honestly, I don't think it will have affected the team that much as reportedly the dressing room was in favour of bringing him back. We know for sure that the manager wanted him too.

        1. Andy_Social
          • 13 Years
          2 years, 3 months ago

          So they planned to bring him back - talk about not reading the room. But now the latest crisis is abandoning the move to bring in Amrabat - whom they need with Casemiro starting wobbly - in order to scramble for another striker. They deserve their "bad luck".

          1. x.jim.x
            • 11 Years
            2 years, 3 months ago

            I don't think we're in for another striker - I've seen some tier 99 source link us to Marcos Leonardo, but even he'd be another Amad/Pellistri type signing (one for the future who never plays).

            Hopefully the Mount injury forces our hand to move for Amrabat - they only want £20m from what I read last.

    4. ElChapo
      • 6 Years
      2 years, 3 months ago

      Mainoo/amad both not likely to play a part in the 2 months anyway
      Mctominay bid rejected...not sure why this is bad, any other team sells a starting calibre CM and its atleast 40m (see longstaff, mount) why should we accept 20m when in the market he's clearly worth more?
      Moves off - bailly, fulham/Saudi both quoted as being in talks
      Tom heaton out - he's 4th choice keeper
      Takeover stalled - has it stalled? Selling something valued at 6 billion usually takes quite a while

      1. ElChapo
        • 6 Years
        2 years, 3 months ago

        Wolves game - played awful, lucky to get a point never mind 3
        Spurs game - played much better and should've been 2 up by HT, spurs first home game at home, they were favorites anyway
        The others, DVB/Maguire are frustrating but not the end of the world.

        Put it this way, after 2 games were much much much much better off than after 2 games last season. Imo.

      2. x.jim.x
        • 11 Years
        2 years, 3 months ago

        * Mainoo and Amad would have been good options off the bench - now we have nobody (Pellistri might be going)
        * McTominay bid was actually £30m and would have given us money for Amrabat - a clear upgrade
        * "Talks" when any decently ran club would have had him gone years ago
        * Heaton is literally second choice as it stands (Henderson doesn't want to be here)
        * Considering the takeover was supposed to be done "in the summer", then "before the season starts", now it's (supposedly) "mid October" with the bidding parties left in the dark, I would call that "stalled" yeah

        1. ElChapo
          • 6 Years

          A 37 year old backup 3rd/4th string is not a disaster, not is a 5th string winger who was on loan at Sunderland last season.
          Do you know that bidding parties are left in the dark? Or is that what the sun is saying?

          I think you're wrong and being very, very, very pessimistic, but I'm glad people can have different opinions.

    Ok, rip it apart please, sick of looking at it now and the eyes are numb to it.

    Have to lock it down tonight because i'm out all day tomorrow.

    What changes would you make? Keeper I,m not too keen on but fairly happy with the rest, would like a City defender but don't want to lose the attackers for the next few, bigger chance of hauls I think.

    Onana / Areola
    Chilwell / Saliba / Estupinian / Udogie / Henry
    Saka / Odegaard / Foden / Mbuemo / Luis Diaz
    Haaland / Alvarez / Wissa

    1.1m in the bank.

        I've mapped it out and there are some obvious spot to bench Wissa (V Newcastle for example) planning to leave Diaz benched for a few weeks, seemed pointless to have the money in the bank when I could bring him in and save a future transfer, he's the one I want to commit to from there.

      Good team but a massive benching headache every week. I'd reallocate the funds if you can.

      Is this a WC? And if not how many transfers?
      Nothing wrong with your defence tbh - could easily put Gvardiol in but your back 5 looks good
      Only thing i would say is maybe but a 4m def in to bank. Ive got Beyer and hes just no3 on bench

        Yeah, started with a Salah team & made the call on if I wanted to keep him or not based on Bournemouth C, that was always the plan, made 11 changes.

        Turner, Johnstone, Reece James, Gabriel, Baldock, Anderson, Rashford, Martinelli, Salah, Pedro & Mubama all gone.

        Tempted by Gusto but really don,t want fires to put out after this, which defender would you downsize mate?

          Tough one, i think you should downsize a 4.5, maybe Udogie to go? To a 4m
          Just gives you more int he bank to upgrade Alzarez for when Silva comes back - ill be getting rid about that time

            I have thought about doing Onana & Henry to Flecken & Gusto, that would fix my keeper issue but it would leave me with 2.1m in the bank, Gusto just feels like a future problem though, wish there was more concrete news about James.

            I do like Brentford's fixs more than United's.

              Im keeping Onana, just think he should be 5.5 and do believe Man Utds def will come good (i hope)
              I have Beyer and Gusto, but 2.5 in the bank. Happy to use Gusto at home to Luton and see what happens when James comes back - for now i like him. Only use a free transfer to get rid anyway

      I like it. Hard to bench players and EO threats from the big guys you're missing but hard to make a compelling case these aren't better picks.

        Can only think of Rashford & Bruno but don't mind taking them on.

          Mitoma for this week but Brighton's fixtures go downhill for a while. You'll want a route to some Newcastle players so it might be worth downgrading one of your 4.5 defenders so you have enough in the bank to get to Trippier and a forward.

        What do you think?

        Onana & Henry or Flecken & Gusto/4.5M?

          No but who else is available, Gallagher is good at running round a lot so could be good so that they can press higher up.

      If I was Poch, I'd go with something like:

      Sanchez
      Gusto - T Silva - Colwell - Chilwell
      Gallagher - Caicedo - Enzo
      Madueke - Jackson - Sterling

      Hi, with salah if you can do a double move would be ideal to spread out the money. I boosted my 4.5 forward so I’m not so stuck if I get an injury/benching in future.

      Chelsea & City seem to be the teams of choice so go either;

      Sterling & Alvarez

      Or

      Foden & Jackson

      Best of luck

          I'm sure Liverpool wouldn't be upset to get his huge wages off the books now they aren't in the CL, he's hit 30 now, a good offer would be hard to refuse.

          Fans would burn Anfield down though.

            True - I just can’t see them being able to replace him. The only real option would be someone like Bowen, but West Ham would have their pants down.

    How likely is Leon Bailey to continue his form from last week?

    He is the only 5.5m mid that looks to have serious attacking threat now that Enciso is injured

    All the good 6.0 mids have moved to 6.1-6.2 and cant get to 6.5.

    What’s the craic Ake? I transferred him in last GW in a last minute panic for Stones. Is he likely to start this weekend? Surely he can’t be benched again?
