This evening we roll out the final part of our series of Projections articles for the season ahead. Having already assessed the Keepers, Defenders and the Midfielders, it’s finally time to start searching for value up front.

With the aid of our freshly Projections, we’ve analysed the average points expected per player over the course of the upcoming campaign and, applying this to the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) player price list, have listed the top ten in terms of expected value per Fantasy pound for the season ahead…

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Goal kicks going corners? Canada penalty denied on a hand ball in the first half, Americans given similar pen... But I am Canadian, so I see the game one sided 😉

Yeah, I like Kightly. Ethers can play left though, can't he? So maybe more impact on Pennant? I wonder if he'll just be the same price as he was with Wolves (which was very cheap if I remember) - or if he'll priced afresh.

Tangtastic, if you're around - re. Cazorla

Here's a breakdown of his stats compared to where he played for Malaga last season (he played all over the shop)

    http://www.whoscored.com/Players/4522/

If you break down his attacking returns when playing in one of the 3 attacking positions he took up throughout the season (AMR, AML, AMC) and take out the games he played at defensive wing and holding midfield it looks a more positive FPL picture.

    9 goals + 5 assists in 22 games

That's obv not fool proof evidence! Nor is it to say he will play every game in an attacking capacity for Arsenal - but you would think that with Arteta and Song pretty nailed on behind him - that he would play at the front of that triangle behind the forwards (or else come in from the right which is where he grew playing - and where his best returns seem to come from)

Key passes and shots per game figures are around Silva's sort of rate - and that's not taking into account those fixtures with him playing deeper.

Probably a wait and see job, but, Mata/Silva type returns not out of the question IMO.
He will also almost certainly be on direct free kicks - as well, maybe, as corners.

    Food for thought.

I agree with that. I just think that there are some more proven point scorers with better opening fixtures. When Arsenal's fixtures pick up he could be a key player. But...Good things come to those who wait.

One problem dough is that most of his shots come from outside the box, but his value will largely depend on price. Anything under 8.5 could be a steal anything over would make me think Walcott, Poldi or some others over him.

I've tried to be different. I really have. I have tinkered and tinkered and tinkered. I have spent hours and hours picking my team. I have scoured every 4.5m midfielder over and over and over again. I have been stubborn with my big 3 strikers. I have tried every spreadsheet and created my own. And now?.............

............I have given in. I have gone generic. It hurts, but it is safe and I have come to the conclusion that you can't win FPL in week 1, but you sure can lose it.

Here is my non-impressive, generic, heart-breaking, but hopefully successful team.....oh and I like Pog, always have done since he led Zenit to the Europa League.

    Hart / Henderson
    Lescott / Rangel / McCartney / Fonte / Mariappa
    Bale / Lampard / Sinclair / Taarabt / Noble
    Torres/ Aguero / Pog

    2.5 mil in the bank.

    GW1 - Rooney -> Torres

    Generic but safe......unless you disagree?

The season is a long time. But I like Pog, nailed on, really cheap, a goalscorer, an under-rated player imo. I think he is the best player to start with. If a 7m midfielder really shines then I can downgrade my 9mil midfielders and upgrade Pog. But for now I think he represents good value and is as likely to score as much as any sub-8mil striker.

If I go Djibril then its Puncheon and Llana in mid, if I go Lambert I can take Taraabt or WRight Philips pairing puncheon/Llana.

I can't shake the feeling that going Tevez over Aguero will be a mistake. Just been playing around with my team to try and get Kun back in. I'm thinking of sacrificing my one big hitter in defence (currently Terry) for a Swansea defender for their great fixtures which allows me to do Tevez>Kun. Think its worth it?

I wouldn't go with a Swansea defender, too risky with the new manager imo.
But I do think Kun is a much better choice than Tevez, the scout article made a great point that if his price starts to rise people could quickly see themselves priced out.

Kun over Tevez here. The extra 2.5 mill looks so tempting but every time I try it out I end up back at the beginning with Kun. Don't know why but think he will be even better this season.

        My draft team is:

        Friedel, Federici
        Terry, Saylor, Cuellar, Boyce, Gunter
        Mata, Bale, Kagawa, Noble, Maloney
        Torres, Tevez, Graham

To raise the 2.5m and still have the Rooney fund intact I'm thinking Terry, Bale and Tevez to Rangel, Siggy and Aguero.

Why not downgrade Kagawa if you're getting Rooney. He probably won't be nailed anyway as United will play 4-4-2 sometimes.

Yes. I also do not buy Tevez over Kun.

I am also seriously contemplating getting rid of my Chelsea defender and just forgoing the potential DGW points for the safety of Kompany.

I'd be very surprised if City concede at home against Southampton so, at best, having Kompany over Cole should only be a 6 pt difference. And that's assuming Chelsea keep 2 clean sheets in the DGW and that your chosen Chelsea defender plays 2 x 60 mins.

I am loathe to see Chelsea players, who I don't really want in my team after GW1 anyway, dictating my transfers and team set up for the 1st 3 GW's of the season just because of some silly DGW.

I've ended up going the same way, Chelsea have looked terrible pre-season and I don't foresee 2 cleansheet. I've still got Torres in my team but I'm tempted just to change him to Rooney so then I have some freedom after the first gameweek.

          Lampard and thats it.

In fact, I half get the feeling Reading might end up keeping a clean sheet against Stoke.

There will be other DGW's with teams with less rotation weeks. I'm passing on CHesea defenders and getting Kompany before he shoots up in price.

I think it is a great idea, even with the new manager for Swansea. As the team Laudrup was coaching in Spain(Mallorca) was also very defensive 4th best in terms of goals conceded in La Liga.

RMTs are just useless at this point, where pretty much the situation of every player is up in the air, no one knows who are nailed on. What lineups will coaches use Etc. I will gladly respond to every RMT on august 13-16, when I have something to say that I can actually reason with facts.
And people posting RMTs are usually back with another RMT in a few hours with completely different players in there despite the advice people gave them.

im not saying it is you or even that I have anything against RMTs, I just dont bother answering anymore for those reasons I named above. I would gladly discuss RMTs closer when people actually know what they are doing, right now it is just all guesswork. Im just looking at my team and there are like 1 or 2 players nailed on in there, and I think it is the same for most teams unless you just dont care and pick the names you want.

Bale and Petric + 2mil for Torres to Rooney before week 2

    or

Yaya Toure and Papiss Cisse, transfering Mata to Bale before week 2?

The 2nd option would leave me with no United attacking coverage. Rooney tends to start the season slowly after major tournaments so waiting for viable midfield options e.g. Kagawa.

    We RMT

    Friedel – Frederici
    Ivanovic – Demel – Terry (Cuellar,Fonte)
    Bale – Guthrie – Noble – 6.5? (Maloney)
    Rooney – Torres – Aguero

firstly yes i no my midfield is shite, gonna give it a few weeks to see whos playing where then i can downgread Torres

Rooney and Aguero look like season keepers at the min

Best mid for 6.5? would like Michu but is he to much a risk with my already shit mid? maybe Pienaar/Larsson/McClean/N'Zog

Plans are after GW1 Terry out Vidic in
after GW2 Ivanovic out Lescott in and likely Torres out
