This evening we roll out the final part of our series of Projections articles for the season ahead. Having already assessed the Keepers, Defenders and the Midfielders, it’s finally time to start searching for value up front.

With the aid of our freshly Projections, we’ve analysed the average points expected per player over the course of the upcoming campaign and, applying this to the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) player price list, have listed the top ten in terms of expected value per Fantasy pound for the season ahead…

Cerny wont play if that matters and Guthrie is a defensive mid in a bad team 2 points will be a good week.

is that because most ppl assume aguero will get more gametime than tevez? because even if tevez gets 30-40 less pts, he is still 2.5 mil cheaper. and i would also like to get in cazorla.

Carzola is unlikely to get game time straight away after not taking part in most of pre season, Tevez is a matter of taste but logic says he is not nailed on and not on pens. Only way you can have Tevez IMO is to have Aguero as well.

I think I would rather Rafael in that price range - for attacking potential and more clean sheets. Just need him to chill out at the Olympics...

Also err toward Jonny below. Vermaelen for 1.5 more offers midfielder-esque attempts per game (similar to Ramires for example) + the clean sheets.

I fancy Rafael to make right back his own this season. I guess I am talking season-long. You're right though, Kos is pretty well nailed on (other than away at Stoke where Mertesacker might come in) and does give a cheap route in to another potential run of cleansheets - which you're right, does happen at AFC from time to time. He gets on the end of the odd corner too.

              *logs on to FPL*

My current thinking on Vermaelen is that if Arsenal get, conservatively, 10 clean sheets, and he scores 6 goals (again, not too much to ask based on previous seasons) then you've essentially got a 19 goals a season striker for 7m. And he takes up one of those pesky defender spots.

PS I know this isn't exactly watertight logic, but even if I say a 15 goal a season striker it still sounds like good value, right?

    A) Bale and Yaya (boring)

Stats can be useful if used correctly and cautiously. I'm finding the members tools very useful. Sess did lose form toward the end and he wasn't playing as a striker like he used to. But it's an in depth comparison so it gives us a lot of info about their playing styles and competency.

He's a midfielder who has been wrongly classified as a defender. Only 4.0 - he won't start unless through others being injured but he'll get many sub appearances. Worth a punt at 4.0 for a technically OOP fantasy player.

Yes, he was a forward last year. He's really a winger. He's a good dribbler of the ball, but was not clinical enough last season. Did score a lot of goals in France, so he might do well this season.

However, Arsenal's bought two world class forwards in Podolski and Giroud, with Santiago Ca-thor-la to come, and Van Persie's exit nowhere near a fait accompli, so I wouldn't say he's nailed on, especially with players like Theo Walcott and Alex Chamberlain competing with him on the wing and Thomas Eisfeld knocking on the door.
