Why are people getting rid of Martinelli? He's looked great even if missing out on points. He's no Richarlison. Jesus will be back soon and then the goals will flow

i think its because a lot of people would have Saka with possibly double Utd mids too, with the Utd game up next it makes sense to shed one player from each team, also there is other mids performing better that are cheaper

Usually bad for bonus, but he might get extra clean sheets. I haven't checked the stats but quite many goals conceded during last 10 minutes. More extra time may add to that this season.

I expect him to get enough starts. With the best attack in the league he will get more chances during 60 minutes than most attacking players during 110(?) minutes. Checking stats could be worth it though. He and perhaps Jota/Foden are the only other players who are very capable to get returns from bench also.

Gabriel and J Pedro are first priorities to sell, even for a hit. Rashford is good in counter attacks but not great against low blocks. Arsenal has looked leaky, so he isn't a "must" sell this week. However, Maddison looks like "almost season keeper".

    Something for the early risers.
This thing about wait until the end of the week to make a transfer.
Yes, there is good reason to transfer late on many occasions but the general rhetoric is crap IMO.
I bother, each season to record 5 GW's after the transfer to see the positive/negative outcomes.
Because of the Maddison issue, everyone has made a judgement about waiting for news.
I have counted, in the last 5 years of my exercise, it has hurt me an average of 2.5 times per season but I have generated around 2 mil extra TV. I am not saying I am right either but it is subjective and team dependent, with many outside influences affecting outcomes.
Information is valuable but every year the season points increase, devaluing hits.
I have never failed to make ground in the latter part of the season and a portion of this relates to team value. This is also noting I use chips early and the net effect of the WC for example is not as big as one may think.
My record is pretty good and would be better if I chose to play for OR rather than a mini-league, where I tend to spend points to cover my opposition.
We are stuck with the rules FPL Towers throw at us but the lack of transparency and "human intervention" in relation to price rises should be addressed IMO.
PLAY YOUR OWN GAME. FOMO IS A CURSE!

I agree. However, I split every season to 4 quarters or divide it 3 parts. During first part I am happy to get hits and try to catch most significant prices rises from good players with good fixtures. 2 million is not enough extra TV though. During my best season I had TV over 108 million and was able to have BOTH Kane and Son (both on fire) + template that was doing well. Green arrows were imminent.

Why don't you play your own game? Dodging points and blocking others in mini leagues is not needed. Getting maximum amount of points is more than valid strategy.

This strategy demands at least good 1st sub, but having 15 good players rising in price is optimal. I once tripled up on Arsenal attack on WC 🙂

I often make early transfers these days unless I am I unsure like this gw with the Raz injury rumours ( seems odd that he wouldn't at least be on the bench just in case they needed him) . It hardy ever comes back to hurt me. Content creators try and influence the game to suit themselves. Like they want to wait because if they get caught out it looks bad on them and they are open to more abuse . My team value is usually decent in the latter part of the season too and people who believe TV isn't important don't understand this game very well imo. Although this season may be different as FPL destroyed the pricing completely

Okay, I do 😉 And that WC draft below suggests that to be true 🙂 There are many ways to play this game. Lateriser is late riser and so am I, usually thanks to TV and some brave/lucky picks. (Last season I unfortunately had a thing called life.)

I dunno how many times have you been .1 short of your " perfect team' and how many hits have you needed to make because you are short. Depends how you play I guess . It may be overrated if you base everything around it and maybe now in a time of leaks it probably is better to wait but the chances of a player getting injured after you bring him in a few days earlier are pretty low. Like I say I can't even remember the last time I got caught out doing it

That is the fear. There has been some inflation also previously, but last season Kane at least did well. Now we don't have him and both Salah and KdB may have peaked. Too early to know for sure. However, we must adapt and there is probably going to be merit having likes of Trippier over Botman and many rotating players. Trent may find his old himself and January window might shake some things. Many people don't like benching headaches and have too thin squads therefore. Maybe that's one weakness to play against.

I like it! And the reasoning behind it as well. Here's mine, although at 450k OR:

      Areola
      Chilwell Udogie Henry
      Sterling Salah Maddison Saka Mbeumo
      (C)Haaland Wissa
      .
      Leno Gusto Cash Semenyo

      1.8m ITB

Thinking of three further mini-WCs for fixture swings: Saka + Gusto to Bruno + Schar in GW6, Mbeumo + Henry to Diaby + Alex Moreno in GW8, Sterling + Chilwell to Brighton mid + Estupinan in GW10. All optional though. Trying not to box myself in this season, which is why I might not get Bowen for a one-GW punt unless something concrete emerges about Sterling at the presser

Should I start Baldock and bench Estu and Saliba? Much better fixture of all 3..

no play Estu, he's like playing with an extra attacker

I wouldnt bench both of them over him, I would prefer to play Estu for attacking upside. Baldock decent fixture but so hard to see Sheffield not conceding at the moment. They did play well last week, but that included a missed penalty. Both Forest and Palace had decent xG against them.

I don't know, this Sterling not being in the Chelsea squad last night is kind of strange when the Palmer signing happened out of the blue yesterday.

Could just be Sterling being given a complete rest but where there is smoke, there is fire.

Not sure about that. He's a key player and shouldn't need to be involved in midweek cup fixtures. A deserved night off.

Poch never gave Kane the night off and if he did he was at least on the bench

    2FTs and 0.7 itb

    Johnstone -> Areola & Pedro -> Alvarez

Are they good moves? Initially wanted to hold 2FTs over internationals

    | Estupinan Saliba Nakamba $ 1.1 ITB

    A) JP, Saliba -> Alvarez, Burn

    C) JP, Estupinan -> Trippier, Semenyo

I don’t think Trippier is worth the money this year, so A

Agree, Trippier way to expensive compared to the other defence assets plus with CL coming up, cannot see him starting every match.

I really like Semenyo. You don't have to start him but he is perfect for bench. Also avoids benching headaches.

Would you not do JP and Guehi? Understand Guehi has a soft week but hes surely a sell longterm.

Mitoma to Maddison -4 is not good business right?
Rest of the team is solid so could probably do it for free next week after the burnley game but IB may bring its own issues then!

Yeah I'd agree that if you were to do it next week anyway its not worth doing particularly if you have no other issues that require transfers.

I wouldn't call it optimal business, but it's not as bad transfer as -4 shows. If you do it now for a hit, you have one booked transfer less for gw5 and good chance for immediate gains. There is huge chance that ib causes problems to your team and you are taking that hit later and miss gw4 point gains. So take a look at your team and consider risks and benefits.

I was listening, if that helps. They said he made a complete hash of a great chance but otherwise looked sharp and took his goal really well. The commentators were very positive.
