  1. Eze Really?

Something interesting I just picked up. My team vs the top 10 in my ML.
Nobody used any chips so far: and my numbers excluded
    Haaland 9 captain 9
Estupinan 8 (Leader only guy not to have him)
Saka 8 (Leader only guy not to have him)
Chillwell 7 (Leader does not have him)
    Jackson 3
    Bruno 4
    Maddi 2
    Foden 2
    Mbuemo 3
    Gusto 3
    Saliba 0
    Udogi 2
    Alvarez 0
    Fllecken 0
    Turner 5
Just goes to show how a "template" team like nine (No Rashford or Sterling) cab be so different to players who all have good records in FPL (copying or otherwise)
I think template is somewhat exaggerated on many occasions

The No.1 for this gw seems to have been created purely in order to promote a suspected crypto currency scam. Have registered an objection with the FPL (acknowledged & awaiting a response). If you have a few moments maybe take a look at the team name for yourselves in case you wish to follow suit?

That number is far too high. I've never been in leagues where half of them are non-legitimate. The number will be smaller than that, and much smaller towards the upper ranks.

These bot teams are not in minileagues we participate in. That Indonesian one uncovered the other day - there are thousands all in their own bot minileagues controlled by one person. It's like a parallel universe.
I don't seriously think it's 50%, but I suspect it's higher than most of us imagine.

I always look at those registered before GW1 Deadline, which was about 9M and believe 80% of those are genuine, though some people put in more than 1 team (not I) - There are now 9.6M, so I believe those are all scammy crap!

Players don’t dream of playing in a Saudi league they want to play for Barca, Bayern, Chelsea, Liverpool, Utd, Real - in the most competitive leagues

This will change over time. The EPL itself has been through this - when it began nearly all the players were British and slowly - driven by TV money and the increasing visibility and quality of the competition - more and more players from other countries have come as well. The Saudi league can do the same - and probably quicker given how much money they have to spend. The next big step will be to get their games widely available on TV around the world.

That may well be the case when they are younger. A bit like you saying you want to be an astronaut when you are a kid and then you grow up. The players who have already gone to Saudi may well have wanted to play for those teams but something “else” has made them move. While we probably all agree that the "something else" is money there may well be other reasons involved.

imo, he's not. To go now would be to do the dirty on Klopp and the Scouse fans. Salah wouldn't do that - he's a decent, moral guy who values loyalty. I see him agreeing to go either next season or in the winter.

I can also argue that he is a family man & the offer on the table is too good to turn down. His religion could also play a part. No one needs to tell him to accept that offer, I am pretty sure he did already otherwise he would have made a public statement concerning his future.

His body might be at Liverpool but I’m pretty sure his soul & shooting boots are elsewhere

His family are hardly begging for rice though. And a true Muslim has a very strong sense of morality. I'll be shocked if he somehow downs tools or finds 'his head isn't in the right place'. I just don't see him as that kind of person.

Klopp's main focus was on the midfield which was lacking badly last season. January window we could possibly see a new defender arrive and perhaps Salah's "replacement" to get him ready for next season.

Taking the money, a massive chunk of £££, "squeeze as much as you can" may not be out of the question. £250m?

It's quite possible that the Saudi PIF has no ceiling; Salah would be the biggest coup - better than Neymar and Ronaldo, better than Mbappe or Messi if they came, because he's the highest-profile Muslim footballer on the planet (imo). Could happen.

I’m not sure that will be the case.
Kolo Muani is gonna be competing with Gonçalo Ramos so his minutes will more often than not be a question mark(Ramos definitely has the higher ceiling)
With Kane Bayern have got a proven goal scorer and that’s not even his biggest strength, pretty sure you’re aware of his linkup play which will enable sane Coman gnabry to flourish by getting in behind.
Now obviously it’s team dependent but you can’t say with such certainty Kane won’t be the better deal lol, there’s every chance he wins the champions league at Bayern in the next 2-3 years, which will most likely mean he’ll win the ballon d’or(they aren’t getting there without his goals)
As long as Mbappe is there at PSG everyone is gonna play second fiddle, Kane at Bayern isn’t.

        • 4 Years

Fair enough. Both deals are great ones but I like what I have seen from Muani tbh. Ramos is also a threat as you mentioned, nevertheless, I still think the Muani deal would prove to be the better one especially when they can also cash in if they need to sell him in future compared to what Bayern will get when Kane leaves.

        1. Lord of Ings
          • 10 Years

That is true for sure, very likely Kane valuation will be peanuts by the time he leaves Bayern, have a sneaky feeling he might end his career at Tottenham
The Kolo Muani deal would have made much more sense if they didn’t sign both Ramos and Kolo, there’s no way both are starting and it’s going to be quite difficult to bench one since both are extremely good as well.

    Pickford
    Udogie
    Pinnock
    Salah
    Eze
    Foden
    Pedro

Differential compared to other players in your rank bracket is what I fpl gives you

Salah is not a differential in my livefpl.net, but I suppose on where you are ranked...

  9. Eze Really?

Our habits at looking at the negative when coming to FPL pricing can be somewhat unfounded at times.
The benefits for lower prices are greater choice, less impact on price changes which is a scam IMO and most importantly, engages more in the game. Remember; multiplying by 2 21 times comes to over 1 million. We can enjoy the strategy more with the concerns of transfers having a chance to go wrong more often. We have the opportunity to have strong benches to allow for rotation; considering the pain of having points on the bench,
    Time to enjoy guys.

Wasn’t someone here being extremely vocal about Brownhill pre-season, saying he was basically their first name on their team sheet and that he was going to be more or less essential? Did that happen or did I imagine that?

    1. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years
      2 years, 3 months ago

Camzy was quite keen on him but I recall it as more like "he's worth the extra 0.5m as 1st sub / 8th attacker", not "essential"

      1. Andy_Social
        • 13 Years
        2 years, 3 months ago

I've never entertained owning him myself, but to be fair, Burnley have missed a third of the fixtures so far and start with a very tough run of games. There's plenty of time for Brownhill to prove himself a value asset. Why people got him in GW1 with City up first and a blank to follow is the real issue here.

Neither did I but slightly surprised he hasn't been starting. Got an assist & apparently played well in the cup win over Forest.

Yeah that was very early in the drafts for me. But I realized he wasn't really that nailed and then he had the blank in GW2 plus the dearth of forwards meant that he wasn't really in the plans after a few weeks.

I said quite a few things pre season but that one wasn't me, at one time or another one of my drafts would be in the top 1k, as it stands I'm at 2mil, so basically, don't take my advice

Andreas' distinctiveness last season was as a nailed-on attacking 4.5 mid. Towers wised up and ensured there was no equivalent this time. Sarr could emerge as such but he probably won't be nailed. Same with Chucky but he got injured anyway.

I don't know why people feel the need to jump on Trippier in GW5.

He'll have been busy during the IB given James & Shaw injured, and Southgate is a fan.

Brentford (H) on 17th September, then AC Milan (A) two days layer on 19th. Brentford have looked decent enough going forward & team probably has an eye on that UCL fixture.

Either match could be moved a day given that's a very quick turnaround, but chance it's not.

GW6 is a bit better with SHU, but Man City Cup match directly afterwards. Then it's Burnley, but PSG directly afterwards.

Probably the best 'league' fixtures they could have given this scenario but that is a tough ol' month.

I guess because Doughty was picked and had a great game, many Luton fans MOTM.

Tricky for Kabore as he's also good (and looked good when on), but they're vying for the same spot.

Let's see if the manager can squeeze them both in the XI somehow. Doughty can play as more of a midfielder after all.

Perhaps some research on why you spend the vast majority of your time on FFS complaining that someone hasn't posted something early enough, or with enough detail, or it has too much detail would be more fruitful

Kabore being dropped is a relatively big issue for FPL managers. Many may need him off their bench going forward. LR started him. A lot of people would have liked some analysis on what happened and if he is likely to come back into the side.

LR didn't end up starting him. Saw the light and played Saliba.

Go to Community links at top of comments column & click on mini-leagues update. Details are in that article.

It's this one. I use LiveFPL to track the top managers. Under tracking tools you can pick from Legendary managers and then if you click on some profiles you can pull up some strong leagues with a lot of usual suspects.
