Arteta on Rice: "He hasn’t trained yet. We have another session in an hour or two. More news today. Martinelli hasn’t trained, Trossard – same situation. Saka – same situation."

Not surprising they haven't trained with the squad because there was a midweek game which they were missing and doubt there was much of a training session on Thursday. The Friday run out will be key.

Does Man City fixture affect Arteta's plans on rushing back Arsenal players?
    Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta:

"It's about now, it's about Bournemouth, the most important game we have now in the season."

    2FT, 0.2 ITB

    Pickford
    Saliba, Estupanian, Udogie
    Salah, Rashfrord, Saka, Foden, Sterling
    Haaland, Morris
    (Turner - Beyer, Gusto, Osula)

Who would be your priority to drop in this team? Thanks

    Going to be bringing in

    Maddison and Diaby.
One this week, the other next week.

    Whos best this week?

    Madders v Liv
    Diaby v Brighton

        Diaby already rose last night.

I think Maddison is more important, but slight doubt.

Honestly either. Depends on which Villa & Brighton turn up really.

    Bench 2:
    Andersen(Palace), Cash, Estu, Walker, Bell/Beyer/Kabore*

*Haven't decided which one to bring in on WC yet. Need a 4.0m bench fodder anyway and with Saka/Madds possibly out, they could actually play this week.

Arteta (and Southgate, to a lesser degree) has shown he doesn't care about Saka's physical wellbeing, so expect him to start this weekend regardless of whether he's trained or not. Lad's getting the Rooney treatment, legs will be gone in 10 years.

So with Botman cleared by G-Wizz earlier, Arteta saying "It's about now, it's about Bournemouth, the most important game we have now in the season."...

I am starting Saka, ditching Bell to the bench, starting Disasi instead and then Bell has 2 games to do his thing if a no show from Saka 🙂

Kneejerking Saka as Arteta saying even Saliba got a knock sounds a bit dubious and mind gamed for Bournemouth to be honest.

Depending on Saka news, this is my GW7 WC draft - please comment:

    Areola, Turner
    Schär, Dalot, Cash, Udogie, Kabore
    Salah, Son, Maddison, Bowen, Gordon
    Haaland, Alvarez og Archer.

    My transfer plans involve:
    GW8: roll
    GW9: Bowen to Diaby
GW10: Son and Alvarez to Saka and Watkins.

        he was quite open.

he'd doubtful, hadn't trained and will be assessed later today to see if he's fit to play.

        Martenelli, Trossard too and Rice.

Plus a knock for Saliba. He's probably okay tho.

        Havertz and Nelson likely feature.

Saka is a bit of a special case I think. They don't have someone that offers what he does. If he trains today, I think he'll start. He's the most experienced player in Arteta's system (because he literally starts every game) and his replacement, Reiss Nelson, played 82 mins midweek.

I think he'll start tbh. I'll have a good sub in case he really isn't fit but they'll fight to have him ready.

      1. Sir Michael Taker
        • 11 Years
        2 years, 3 months ago

He's out isn't he? That was my interpretation of what Arteta said. Rice seems to be the only one they think might make it but even that is close. No Trossard, no Martinelli, no Saka. Very depleted midfield.

      2. Bubz
        • 12 Years

I think this is the perfect opportunity to give him a break, he's been playing every game and playing through an injury, hasn't trained all week. Man City is next and Bournemouth is a very winnable game without him.

Arteta was asked about Nelson and how he gets consistency and makes an improvement from last season and he said availability.

Also on Havertz he said he needed minutes, support and all the tools to perform in games like he does in training with his talent.

So both Nelson and Havertz could play but it's only 1 game.

Made my transfer last Sunday before the Chelsea wing backs got injured and suspended. Now my defence looks like this...

    Estupinan, Pinnock, Udogie

I'm wildcarding in gw9, so would probably buy Saka back after the Man City game.

If I don't take the hit then I have Estupinan, Joao Pedro, and Saliba on the bench to cover injuries this weekend.

I may sell though as I can do saka to son as part of 2 FTs - means downgrade either Estu , colwill or gvardoil as well

He was over -80% last night when I checked which was then adjusted when he didn’t rise. But yeah, a drop is absolutely possible tonight which would be annoying.

      or the physio assessment?

unless you see him kicking a ball it's likely conjecture.

even then he might not pass the assessment.

Who would you sell Chilwell for? Looking for mid term, like next 5-6 fixtures. Already have Trippier, Pinnock, Kabore, Udogie.

    Budget is up to 6.3
    Cheers!

Harvey Barnes may not play again this year after sustaining a foot injury (toe) at Bramall Lane. The winger is set to miss around three months.
Eddie Howe will give Callum Wilson and Sven Botman 'every chance' for this weekend.

The other long termers remain out. Dan Burn has had illness, but he should be OK. 'We'll make a late check on Alexander Isak.'

There's a NUFC insider that basically said Burn, Wilson and Botman are all fit.

I took a lot of positives from the 'very minor' element to Wilson's injury which just sounds like Callum Wilson most weeks of the season basically he's never 100% fit

Howe does this all the time so take what he says with a pinch of salt. They weren't injured during the week. He was resting them so he has to come up with some story about them being given every chance when in reality there's nothing wrong with them. Why not just say he was protecting them during the week

I can do Saka to Son for free, was going to do it next week anyway.

I should just do it now, shouldn't I?

Just about the whole Arsenal 1st team is a doubt lol. Even Fabio Vieira

    Gotta love Arteta

Arteta: Rice, Martinelli, Trossard, Saka doubts for weekend
    Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta:

Rice? "He hasn't trained yet. We have another session in an hour or two and will have more news about him today."

Martinelli? "He hasn't trained, we need him back."

    Trossard? "Same situation."

    Saka? "Same situation."

Arteta says Arsenal also have to assess Fabio Vieira and William Saliba.

I've seen a different (slightly) quote on BBC which was that Martinelli hasn't trained, want him back but he is not available. And then the same situation re Saka and Trossard. Which I've taken as being they're not available.

Had planned to do Mbuemo + Doku to Maddison + Gordon next GW, but should I do Mbuemo to Gordon now as I’ll be priced out?

Is Chilwell to a Newcastle defender that is NOT Trippier worth a hit? Can't afford Trippier. I could play Udogie and hope for the best but I'd rather not

    1. Silecro
      • 8 Years

Probably not worth a hit because then you dont gain anything from a clean sheet, you need to hope for attacking return from that -4 guy, and its unlikely that last weeks 8-0 drubbing will happen again

This is true, which is why I'm considering Cash because he could score vs Brighton

Head coach Eddie Howe said: "We think he's going to be out for around three months. No surgery required, which is good news, but his foot is now in a boot.

Re: Barnes so good for Gordon owners.

        2 years, 3 months ago

He could play if he put his other foot in a boot as well.
