I’m going to play my WC in gw10, so I have 1 transfer to make just for GW9. Who is the best one week punt? Team as follows:

    Neto

    Trippier - Botman - Cash

    Salah - Saka - Maddison - Doku - Mbuemo

    Haaland - Alvarez

    (Turner - Gusto - Beyer - McAtee)

I'm guessing you have value tied up in players so shouldn't sell the ones you want back. Mbuemo has a nice fixture so wouldn't sell for this week even if you drop him GW10. So keep the FT for emergencies over the IB.

      Doku to Gordon

Depends if Botman plays. If not, then get burn in.

Doku not guaranteed to start either so monitor that.

If both Doku and Botman play, I’d look at taking Saka out for a 1 week punt player. Bruno, Rashford, Diaby, gibbs white, Diaz to name a few

      Alvarez to someone potentially
Have a feeling he won't start if he's playing in Peru on Wednesday
You probably have value tied up though and not sure how much budget you have

Saka to Son or Doku to Douglas Luiz if you cant stretch to Maddison. Defence and strikers sorted.

Price locked and only 4.2 million though. Not impossible to bench him over bad fixtures and R James being not flagged. Should be decent 3rd bench player or even 2nd if negative points risk for Taylor is serious.

Assuming Saka doesn’t have anything long term, this is a solid team. Mitoma could be Diaby or Mbuemo or Neto, which might be slightly better, but I’d take this for sure. Good side.

I personally don't like Mitoma atm, his minutes are too uncertain just like his role. Explosive he is though, said Yoda 😉 That bench is also too weak for my liking. I personally would upgrade Taylor or Kabore. Trippier for example is not young kid anymore.

I see I didn’t really answer your question, sorry. Personally speaking I would find it difficult to sell any of those you mention. But put a gun to my head and I’d probably keep Maddison and sell the other 2.

I would want to keep one Spurs attacking asset after GW10 and Maddison, although not that explosive, is very consistent. So by process of elimination, that means Son and Alvarez would have to go. But to make those moves before FUL and BHA would take some seriously sizeable cojones.

    3. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 5 Years

I have been considering selling Son from GW10 to have more funds elsewhere, but I already have Salah, Saka, Maddison and Alvarez too (was looking at getting Nunez and maybe Palmer as a rotational option). Have to look at it carefully though given Son's price now though as I got him at 9.1. I was looking at it potentially as a short term sell and getting him back a few weeks later but on that basis it feels a bit silly, especially looking at the games in GW12+13 which should be good for him.

That is the thing. Selling Son now when you will have to sacrifice to get him back could be a pain. I expect him to do well even vs the likes of City. Just feels like a player you need to keep.

This may sound counterintuitive but if you don't plan on keeping one, sell now and bank the price gains. Then you could buy them back at the end of the GW for a 1 week punt at a higher price provided you look to sell soon after. If they do well you may even be inclined to keep them for another week.

Its a big dilemma. Luckily I don't have to sacrifice any of them to bring in Salah right now. And I really don't want to sell Maddi/Son at all, but something will have to give if/when I want to bring back Saka/Martinelli. I guess it will probably be Trippier if Estupinan is fit. That would
allow me something like this in a few weeks:
      Areola
      Estupinan Digne Porro
      Salah Son Maddison Martinelli Mitoma
      Haaland Darwin

    Which of these? Thank you.

I’m interested in Toffolo. But will he start against Luton?

      What's a Toffolo?
A Toffolo! Why, didn't you know?
      He has...terrible...tusks.
      And...terrible claws.
And terrible teeth in his terrible jaws.
      Wh...Where are you meeting him?
      Here, by this Forest tree
And his favourite food is...roast Barnaby

      (Silly old Barnaby
      Doesn't he know
There's no such thing as a Toffolo*)

      * Actually he's had one start this season so don't really know the answer but 4.4m is a lot all things considered.

Is 180k transfers in for Salah since the GW ended a lot? Thought it would be more.

I'd imagine finding 12.6m spare is the biggest issue, requires a lot of restructuring / selling Haaland for most

Yeah definitely. It’s why I decided to keep Haaland. I would want him for Bournemouth and just too much to think about to buy him back

If you are set up properly, you can get Haaland back with -8.

The way I have set up, I get to keep Salah, Son, Saka and Alvarez if I decide to bring him back.

It is very risky going without Haaland but once you have done an actual draft without him and see what is on offer then you open your mind to it.

The first person I heard wanting to go without Haaland many GW's back, think it was around GW3 or 4 was Seb. I immediately thought he had completely gone of his rocker. I think Flapjack is also considering it if I can recall and PlanetFPL, can't remember his name.

Have exactly the funds to do Eze -> Diaby, would you make the transfer now before price changes on both of them? Or just wait until deadline approaches and see how the IB goes with injuries and so on?

Or is it time to make Haaland to Salah?

    Current team
    Turner
    Trippier, Cash, Udogie, Andersen
    Son, Maddison, Mbuemo
    Haaland, Watkins, Alvarez

    Onana, Botman, Mitoma, Eze

So far fairly disappointed with going Burn Bowen over Tripp Neto. I tend to fail most of these 50/50 decisions this season, hope Bowen will turn it around with some strong points in the upcoming weeks!

Cannot get to Salah without -8 or WC but I'm keeping my WC for GW 10

Who is best Salah alternative for GW9? Diaz?

Doubtful Diaz plays if last game after IB is anything to go by. Both he and Nunez were benched in the 12.30PM KO after playing into Wednesday morning with their national teams

Risky going Diaz as he has the INT game on Wednesday but unlike last time where LFC had to travel to Wolves, this time they are at Anfield so there is a chance he could start. We still don't know about Gapko and how long he is out for either but there should be team leaks with LFC kicking off early.

Aight guys, that makes sense. Surely Salah cannot be the only reason to activate the WC one week earlier. Not with that big fixture swing in GW10.

Price swings too I suppose. I WC'd last week (hand kinda forced with injuries) and if I wanted the same team now I'd be £1m short. Also are the swings so severe between 9/10 that they're unmanageable if you go this week? Just get Bowen a week early or whatever

I've had Diaz a while and although there have been some intermittent promising signs, I'm out of patience now & upgrading him to Salah. Like the Darwin/Salah double up but wouldn't think of just Darwin as 'covering' Salah. You could try TAA as a different kind of 'alternative' - racking up 4-5 CS + bonus + the odd assist over the next 7, while hoping that EVE/NFO/BRE can keep things relatively tight, is perhaps the best outside shot of matching Salah's points with just one Pool asset, if a bit speculative.

    --Sterl--Madds--Son--Bowen
    --Haaland--Alvarez--Watkins

    --Leno--Andersen--Mbuemo--Estup.
