Who would score more this GW?

    A) Salah + Gordon (Archer bench)
    B) Haaland + Palmer -4 (Gordon bench)

        It will be insightful...

Bench and comes on ... Bandwagon him back in.

No show ... Many people will still get him back for gw20 despite the drama.

Starts, scores and plays 70 mins. Then sufficient self smugness to be displayed a plenty.

Starts and comes off hobbling ... Oh no.

      I'm on this too.

Completely changed my mind and anything less than a trailblazer from Haaland this evening then I'm on Salah and Alvarez, Solanke and Watkins still into gw20.

Haaland might not be available anyhow.

If it isn't a stress fracture he should be back ... Couldn't kick a ball pre Christmas in Jeddah so that's pretty bad bruising in my book!

All it needs is an early Liverpool goal.

8pm at Anfield on New Year's Day.

I've seen a lot of people saying they'd double up on Gabriel and Saliba here and yet here I am contemplating moving Gabriel to Moreno on WC. Arsenal definitely seem to be the most defensively sound side but lot of potential upside with Moreno especially if Digne is injured (although I was planning on doing that before then). I am wondering if the wheels have come off a bit with Villa, although Kamara and Torres missing in their last two has clearly had an impact. Would you keep Gabriel over Porro?

My defence was going to be:

    TAA Porro Walker Moreno Branthwaite

I know City haven't been good defensively but I feel Walker has to be worth a shot given they have SHU and Burnley at home in the next 3 and a double that should land somewhere in the next 4-5 GWs

I’ve never been a fan of double or triple ups if at all possible. A couple of injuries and a drop in form could take weeks to fix when there’s other fires to put out. Newcastle is the current example

    Areola
    TAA - Udogie - Gabriel
    Salah (c) - Son - Saka - Garnacho
    Watkins - Jesus - Solanke

    Dubravka - Palmer - Colwill - Lacelles

I had the exact itb to do Garnacho to Bowen yesterday, which was going to be my plan last night. However the brace (and nearly hatty) meant I did not pull the trigger and am now priced out as Bowen rised as expected.

That team is a roll right? Would be nice having the two FT's for AFCON/Asia Cup.

    Word to the wise
Haaland will only have dropped 0.1 after missing 2 gameweeks and being a major doubt
Salah and Son I reckon will only drop 0.2 each max....which will shake up the whole game as everyone will have large value on them both so won't afford to get them back without dismantling your entire squad
Everyone get Ur bench in order and just bench both

No. Four weeks (plus managed minutes upon their return) is too heavy to bear with a squad of only 11 active outfield players.

Near impossible to have all of Haaland, TAA, Watkins, Son, Saka and Salah. Think you can only get to 4 of them in 24/25. I have a sell value of 102.5 and can only fit 4 of them.

    5. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 5 Years

Someone did point this out to me but there are two caveats here:

      - Haaland has never at any stage here definitively been out injured, apart from having one blank gameweek
      - Salah and Son will both definitively miss at least 2 games, and likely more, and everyone has known this well in advance of this point

Losing value is a concern of mine (given I've had Salah since GW1 and Son from 9.1m) but especially as I'm on WC it just doesn't make sense to hold onto them. Could I afford to hold onto Son? Probably, but it doesn't seem worthwhile, especially when I wouldn't target Everton away in GW24 as the time I'd want him back so I feel I have more time to figure that out.

Haaland has missed the last 4 City games. To say he’s not definitely injured goes against what the manager has said. He may well have just been given a rest but that’s just a theory based on nothing. Far more likely is for him to actually be injured.

I didn't say Haaland hasn't been injured, I said we've never gone into a GW knowing Haaland has definitely been injured. It started after a GW was already underway a few weeks ago, then it was Pep being vague, then it was Pep suggesting he'll be out but still saying that he might still be available even though he didn't expect it. Has he been red flagged at any stage in recent weeks?

I’ve gained £0.4m on Watkins and Solanke since reallocating funds from Haaland, and I’ll gain at least another £0.1m when I buy him back. I’ll probably make further gains from Salah/Son funds in the next 2/3 gameweeks as well as scoring more fpl points. At some stage I’ll probably want them back, but with BGWs on the horizon, and the likely fallout from a long run in AFCON and the Asian Cup, I don’t know when. It’ll be a planning challenge, but it should be more profitable than leaving high price assets on the bench.

    A) Son + Watkins > Haaland + Garnacho
    B) Salah + Solanke > Haaland + Garnacho

Both moves are for a hit.

    Leno - Areola
    TAA - Porro - Gabriel - Gvardiol - Kabore
    Salah - Son - Saka - Gross - Palmer
    Watkins - Alvarez - Solanke

    1 FT, 1.1 ITB.

Any way you can sell Alvarez and keep Watkins/Solanke

        Sell Alvarez before SHU?

For Haaland if fit, yes. Sell strikers with 9 & 12 goals and on penalties to keep a striker that has 4 goals? Alvarez may do well v Sheffield but still fancy the other two over a couple of games

    Here’s my WC draft:

    Raya, (Turner)
    Gabriel, Myolenko, TAA, Udogie, Gusto
    Saka, Richarlison, Gordon, Garnacho, Salah
    Haaland, Solanke, Jesus

Is Jesus a dumb punt? Any better GK pick than Raya?

I'm quite interested in Toney once he’s back. Planning to bench Salah during AFCON, had him from the start so selling him loses too much value.

I’m tempted by Areola and Dubravka GK rotation but Raya is tempting…

      I like Porro over Udogie…
Think Bowen is a must probably over Rich…
      Odegaard over Saka?
      Palmer over Gordon
Nkunku or Hojlund punt over Jesus?

Jesus is not necessarily a dumb punt but there are better options. Benching Salah for 4gw’s is a bit mad though. What is your SV on him?

12.9m. Would quite like him for Newcastle anyway, so even if I do sell him for, say, KDB, he can stay in for now.

    Anyone else on wildcard?

    A) Areola and Dubravka
    B) Pickford/Raya set and forget

      Also on Wildcard.
It's going to be Dubravka and either Pickford or Raya for me.
Got in Pickford early as he's near a price rise.
He does a reasonable job of covering the next 3 fixires which are not great for Toon.
Either way I'm not scrabbling for a keeper if Pope is back or Toon sign a keeper.
Remember Raya can't play Brentford in GW28
However Gab/Raya is currently 0.7 million cheaper than Gab/Salina for the Arsenal double up.

Yeah, I am... Kept it all this time and not really sure what to do with it now! Obviously need to find a Haaland route back in so will observe this evening. Only just got Salah so his P45 is signed and sealed.

      Martinez
      Porro, TAA, Zinchenko, Udogie
      Bowen, Saka, Son, Salah
      Watkins, Solanke

      Areola, Andersen, Mubama, Palmer

Salah has now blanked in his last 5 league games against Burnley. Surprised he was such a popular captaincy pick this week when there were clearly better options elsewhere.

I don't agree with your logic. Previous results versus any team mean next to nothing especially if managers and personnel change in your sample. Salah is the highest scoring asset in the game, Burnley are very poor defensively. "Clearly better" is hindsight. Outcome does not make the decision to captain Salah a bad one.
