I was saved by my defence this week. Save point for my keeper, Porro, Gomez and Estupiñan with returns of some sort. Rest of the team only got 1 or 2 points each. Taylor didn’t play. Still dropped 250k OR

Need to look at Porro's goal conversion rate. All fart and no poo. Like Cancelo.

Loads of shots, no goals. Fluffs his lines ... Almost like a defender playing up front with a nosebleed.

Has also not scored more than 8 points all season. Really need him to start delivering some big hauls which just don't look like they're coming without the clean sheets unfortunately.

He's literally the second highest points scorer in defence. And relatively cheap.

Wild how biased some people are. Someone complaining he never gets more than 8 points in a game .

Also, there is variance. You may find he suddenly gets three goals in three weeks. Its like flipping a coin. Sometimes it lands on heads ten times in a row. Eventually it evens out.

I’d of said Gross but not until after Luton.
Saka heavily owned, that jsust leaves Bowen I guess, all hard to get rid of though before next GW

Kudus early AFCON exit pushes Bowen from a sell to a hold for me

Saka with nfo next seems a hold for one more.

Gross I'm sure was bought to hold for the run of games ahead

Jota has the juiciest hop on in GW24 and a potential double 25 doesn't he.

Can we all just agree to wait til then?

Surprised I’m not seeing comments about Salah? Apparantly gonna be ruled out for like the next 21-28 days according to his agent, and that his injury is more serious than originally thought?

Has anyone else come across this?

    With that said……Salah > KDB? 🙂

Came across in the comments on the previous article, definitely a sell now I think.

Ahh did they, I’ll go take a look see if I can find them, but yeah he seems like a sell now surely.

KDB is looking very tempting I must say, do you have one of Jota or KDB yourself?

    2. _Greg
      • 15 Years
      1 year, 10 months ago

Noone who still owns Salah wants to admit their so cautious I think. I sold him the week before 20, worked out great in 19, not so well in 20! I was all for getting that 0.4m from Salah and Son locked in, so if weird things happen like with Salah now you can sit back, a transfer ahead, plans ahead, permanent team value in the bank.

Son is a weird one cos he'll miss 26, nobody will really get him and then if he's blanking in 29 too he's gonna be off the radar until 30.

what I think is gonna happen is people will get Jota, Darwin and Trent & KDB, Haaland and one of Alvarez or Foden, more on Foden because he's already popular, Alvarez are burned a few, less striker slots and perhaps if Richarlison is blanking in 26 then he might be sacrificed at that point.

      Rough:
One of my worst mistakes this season - transferred Gordon to Olise too early, then discovered the next morning that Olise had damaged his hamstring, while Gordon went on to score 7 points.
Dropped from 484k to 546k as a result.

      Smooth: Captained Palmer.

      Rough:
After much deliberation, went for Gross over Jota, mainly for future planning and price preparations, allowing me to keep Salah, but now who looks like a sell anyway.
Also capped useless Saka over Palmer.
      Drop from 19k > 30k

      Bowen & Watkins blanks

      Smooth:

Gross didn’t really pay off but got him for the next few.
A poor 48 points for the GW and red arrow.

      • 2 Years

      Rough:
Being in a blind spot about Jota/KDB and not even considering them for my midfield overhaul.

      Smooth:
A GW score of 89(-4) and into the top 3k. Missed GW18's Thursday deadline, so thankfully didn't go through with the planned Darwin to Watkins transfer (would have cost me 12 pts since). The midfield rebuild went reasonably well. Missed TAA's injury news, but Branthwaite stepped in.

And finally selected the right keeper - Martinez over Areola. Considering the state of play this season, that feels a bigger achievement than a high rank!!

    12. _Greg
      • 15 Years
      1 year, 10 months ago

Rough: Taking out Gusto for Estupinian, Getting in Bowen and then selling for Garnacho whilo I've already sold for Jota! Had I done just my original transfer I'd have 7 more points because of Tarko coming off the bench, however having Estupinian moving forward (at 4.9) does give me confidence.

Smooth was easy, good lad Gabriel!

WC’d into a team with no Jota/Gabriel. Got knocked out of top100 and the overall cup.

      Smooth:
Toney (C) and 59 points still alright I guess. Still a good OR rank in top200 and can move to any of TAA, Salah, KDB, Haaland and so on when I want With 14.6 ITB. Team also looks good for next GW

Another massive green, up 620k to 2.1m. From 5.5m in GW12 that's now eight greens in nine. Given myself a real chance of doing a Mark now and at least salvaging something resepctable!

Palmer(c), Gab, Gusto, Pedro and new recruit Richarlison. Blanks from all three forwards though and Saka and Odegaard. Think Ode needs to go next.

Mr Gordon will be entering my realm for 23 so I can rotate him with Cunha all the way up to 32 with an incredible run of hone games.

Both Newcastle and Wolves are far superior at home & because of Palmer I think you can take advantage of that and have a rotary pair a lot more expensive than usual. Cunha and Gordon feel perfect to me because despite forwards as a whole improving as a slot they are still less prized than midfielder slots. Hwang and Neto both feel like great options in their own right of course. Wouldn't be comfortable rotating Isak and Hwang/Neto though, just slightly too much to afford.

Trippier obviously depends on transfer rumours and Saka still ticks along but with increasing competition, Forest may be his last match. Watkins is not doing it at the moment but, depending on what you think of Newcastle, Utd and Spurs defence, that’s a lovely run of fixtures up to GW31

Who to make way for Haaland if fit?

    A. Alvarez
    B. Watkins

Was all set on Alvarez > Haaland but the DGW coming up is making me think twice. Watkins > Haaland also leaves 1.8 more in the bank for other upgrades.

    1. Lucky Z

Agreed, his stats are still great. DGW aside (does he get both?). Toney/Wood is the combo I’m looking at but Isak is definitely one to watch and Darwin has obviously shown he can zero in on a barn door now.

I think all the casuals are thinking Haaland is back for Burnley now. It's sad he won't go down 0.1 again, it's also brilliant that people are gonna captain him and set off a massive random vice captain chain.

Save transfer under after the Spurs City game is the play. My cousin brought in Haaland two weeks ago just because he presumed surely he must be back.

As an old fart of FPL now, I'm a bit like Mark, I like to squeeze every drop of team value if at all possible. I'm convinced I want KDB & Jota so I've got them at 10.3 & 7.8 respectively. It might be impulsive and I wouldn't advise others to play like I do at all. If you've waited this long please just wait till Friday now, not long to go, let your patience potentially pay off.

I also value TV highly (107.2 now), but jumping on good assets too early can cost points and neither Jota or KdB are season keepers. Therefore there is about 50% chance that one price doesn't matter after selling them. This happens if they rise even numbers after I have bought them.

Diogo Jota was ranked world No. 1 on PlayStation's FIFA Ultimate Team Champions in February 2021.

Can't argue with it, but remember KDB has already gone up 0.2 so probably won't go up again before Friday's game anyway so just watch Spurs City and you'll know if it's right afterwards.

What a strange and unnerving gameweek.
    The Palmer/Saka Captain story.
Those who were brave and went for Jota.
Those who moved Darwin due to frustration.
Holding onto Salah/Haaland who's injuries are not clear.
Having Saliba rather than Gabriel for safety in minutes.
Bowen starting with points waiting on the bench.
Martinelli who I could not move in my team due to other urgencies and the highs and lows of it all.
Getting Richa and now a little late.
Waiting for Carabou cup and FA cup results.
Who is in and out of Afcon/Asia Cup.
TAA and swapping for Estupinan maybe.
    Content creators overthinking GW29.
Sometimes news does more ham than good.

Walker is captain, has played every game. Out of those three it would be only Walker I'd consider personally. I also have no desire for a City defender however.

I think Walker played most games because Kdb was injured. Isn’t Kdb captain & Walker vice?

Nevertheless, Walker should still be fairly nailed than the rest in defence but one can’t guarantee anything with Pep in charge.
