    Having Doku in the side nullifies any threat Man City assets like Haaland Alvarez Foden could ever have. Just dominating ball possession and left/right dribbling with no end-result but a half-arsed shot at the defender's legs.

    Someone comparing Everton and City’s expenditure on the previous page, suggesting they are similar.

    Just had a look out of interest - Everton have bought two players over £40 million, neither of whom play for them any more. City have bought 25 players upwards of that amount.

    No denying that Everton’s recruitment used to be poor though.

    Foden’s potential is so dependent on walker, he’s really wide today
    Alvarez is getting minutes and has set pieces but he’s so deep, Nunes is making the runs in the box
