Next FA Cup games will be played on 26-28 Feb and I understand that there will be no replay from this round.

That mean we should know the results and 29 blanks before GW27 deadline on 2 Mar.

Pizzed up last night after 2 much beer and I’ve played my free hit for next week. If I play my wildcard does that overrule the free hits and will I get it back?

I'm not sure if the WC will overrule, but I'm quite sure that you will not get the FH chip back.

The Free Hit chip can be used once a season, is played when confirming your transfers and can't be cancelled after confirmed.

is there an option to wildcard showing? If so, it would cancel the FH.

37 likely to be a little bigger and include the best teams.

when you listen to arteta on MOTD talking to gary lineker, where you think he might be a little more relaxed and off the cuff, you realise whats being lost when klopp goes, some one with a personality who doesnt just vomit up managment speak with every single word he says. just insufferable to listen to.

Nice. I captained him last week as forgot to move it to Haaland after I transferred him in. Shame I didn’t do the same again. I think he’s one of the only three essential players in the game along with Haaland and Salah.

Oh well, that turned out a tad frustrating.

How did he miss that header from the KDB cross? Maybe his dad's TC was playing on his mind!

He could still score a couple against Brentford. But the Walker to KDB switch didn't work out, nor did the punt on playing Palmer over Solanke.

Plus all the Liverpool shenanigans. Still, an eventful day.

I love a Saturday. Proper football day.

    Enjoy your Sunday.

With Haaland's EO so high, it's really not that big a deal that he blanked. Just less points for everyone. But big advantage for anyone that was brave enough to TC someone else. Could still score 5 vs Brentford mind you.

Yeah, it's more disappointing that Jota is out and I made other mistakes all on my own.

On TC, guess Virg is right ... don't play it with the crowd. But if he'd scored a few of his chances no one would be saying that.

Tbf I thought that Chelsea would be in the game but that Man City would win.

          • 15 Years

Yeah the Jota one is more annoying but nothing could have predicted it. Haaland could have scored a hattrick on another day. Statistically almost certainly the best time in the season to play the chip so not much else we can do but curse our luck.

Are a lot of people holding onto their FH chip past GW29? I was all set on playing it then but judging by a lot of comments on here people are looking to play it later

    1. boc610
      • 13 Years
      1 year, 9 months ago

"lots of comments on here" is usually about 6 or 7 people just agreeing with each other. play it if you think its the right time. there was lots of planning ahead for this DGW and look what happened

    2. Zalk
      • 14 Years

I'm leaning towards playing it in GW29. I think I'd want at least 6 players from the top 3 in GW34, and they don't double.
I'd also rather not have to play average players leading up to 29 just to have a full team there.

      1. Steve McCroskey
        • 12 Years

        Yeh that's my thinking

    3. The Tonberry
      • 1 Year

I was set to avoid playing the FH chip in GW29 but now thinking it might be the best way to go.

Not especially keen on loading up on West Ham and Villa players and not taking full advantage of Arsenal's excellent form and fixtures ahead. Already been burnt by taking out Saka for Jota before GW24 and now my priority is getting him back in the team.

Not knowing all the GW29 blanks before the next gameweek and with only 3 fixtures that week actually confirmed, is making it harder to plan for GW29 without using the FH.

    4. Babit1967
      • 9 Years
      1 year, 9 months ago

I was tempted to dead end but I really don't want to load up on gw 29 players so will probably just use it, this allows me to get Hwang, Solanke & Salah in before gw28 & I can then stretch the Wildcard out to 33 and BB in 34 or 37.

Gameweek 26 is a really interesting gameweek where I don't think we can be spoon-fed obvious transfers.

Hmmm I don't own Jota but he's going to face massive sales with the injury. I was thinking myself about a Wolves mid for Palmer, but 29 is coming around the corner and I think I need to at least try to give myself the option not to free hit.

Jota & Darwin - Hwang & Hojlund. Would give this:

        Is that for a hit?

You're looking exposed for 29. Not thinking about Brentford or Villa players? Watkins is a must surely?

Worth having a look at Hojlund numbers in the members area, as well. His shot volume and goal conversion suggests his returns are not sustainable.

Isn't it funny how no one wildcards the gameweek before bench boosting into the big double anymore? The old guard on the scout cast used to say it was a cheat code and that it felt wrong and unfair to do it because it was so effective and powerful.

12 (2 GK) after I use my 2 free transfers … Jota to saka (he’s hurting my bad) and Trent to pau most likely.

Not the strongest XI. Leaves me with:

        Raya
        White, Moreno, Maguire, Taylor
        Saka, Gross, Bailey/Luiz
        Haaland, Watkins, Solanke

11 players once I use an FT to replace Jota. I currently plan to bring in Douglas Luiz , he has a home game in 26 and I can bank some cash. I already have Salah.

Have some caution with Luiz as there's a chance his returns could dry up if he plays deeper while Kamara is out. I'd favour Bailey but there's question marks over his minutes.

      Jota to Hwang

Was planning to save transfer in GW25 and have 2 frees for GW26 but Mr. Becker decided to strain his hamstring on Friday forcing me to sell him for Kaminski. Other transfer was Solanke to Haaland (first time owner) just to cover all TCs going on, so far so good.

      1) 11 plus a FT
      2) Jota -> Saka. This was always the plan, even before Jota's injury.
I would have got Saka instead of Jota last week, but I expected Jota to outscore Saka by about 4 points in DGW25. Doh! 🙁

In general, this week's best transfers are entirely team-dependant. Just do whatever is needed to have at least 11 starters, preferably without hits.

      1) 10 if Zinchenko plays
      2) probably just Darwin to Solanke. It feels like low upside because he plays City, but I'll need him so might as well get it done. Might take a hit to do Z to Gabriel if it looks like he won't play

How’s it going? Prepared for this week so I’ve got the option of saving a transfer. What do you reckon?

    A) Save FT (decide on Jota replacement next week when we know more about 29, potential upsets etc)

    B) Jota to Bailey / Luiz / Neto and save in 27 when the fixtures are good

Each to their own but I am not planning on using free hit in 29 as I already have five confirmed fixtures and confident I can get that week’s key assets in time.

    1FT 0.6ITB
    Areola
    Estupinan Cash Reguilon
    KDB Foden Saka Gordon
    Haaland Watkins Solanke

    Dubravka Robinson Jota** Kabore **

    Thanks

Assume you must be playing FH in 29 otherwise you are bringing in 2 players who will most likely blank. Salah will have 2 blanks 27 (and v likely 29) and City in 28 so think I will wait until wildcard in 30/31 to get

    Areola
    Walker, Gabreil, Branthwaite
    Foden, Saka, Gordon
    Haaland, Watkins

Dubravka, TAA, Darwin, Porro, Palmer, Jota

How does this sound for a plan?

GW26 TAA & Darwin to Pau & Solanke (field 11 with MITB for Salah)
    GW27 Jota to Salah
GW28 Walker to Senesi (second DGWer)

Will probably then FH (currently only have 3 for BGW29), or could do Foden & Gordon to Son & cheapie, or Richarilson & Maddison -4 if more fixtures are going ahead that GW.
