I have currently only Martinez, Watkins, Taylor playing on 29. Could get Son, Bowen and Toney with FTs and then WC.

Is it better to just FH on 29 in my situation and save wildcard for later?

Why would you want to wc if you are bringing in nailed on talisman players like toney bowen and son? Can carry them further right?

My transfers for next gws until 29 are son, Bowen, luiz,Toney for a hit which have me 10 players for gw29. It's not like dead ending it seems. I can carry this team a further (fh34) and wc 35 and bb 37. What do you guys think ?

Might look like this for gw29.

    Areola
    Doughty konsa taylor
    Son richy Luiz Bowen
    Watkins toney

    Dub gabriel saliba saka haaland

The best I can get with FTs for GW29 is this 7 which includes two I already have that are flagged

    Areola
    Pau, Porro
    Son, Maddison, Bowen
    Watkins

Bringing in Doughty, Luiz, Barkley, Toney on FH (which admittedly aren't the most appealing of options) adds 15 points according to RMT, plus another 5 for bringing in a DGW28ers, over Bowen.

So the question is will bringing in players that are likely to DGW in GW34 for strong SGWers add more than 20 points? Given that the likeliest options to choose from are BOU, EVE, CRY, SHU & MUN or NEW players, and I will have 5 FTS between GW30 and GW34 to bring players from those clubs in any way I'm thinking probably not.

    1. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years

Most of those doubles in 34 look rubbish, except maybe if Man Utd can get Højlund back & recover some form then NEW SHU could have some appeal.

I think the extra 3 attackers here could easily net you 20pts although for me that would be Toney / Bailey / Richarlison. And I just don't like the idea of a FH34 team full of Palace, Everton etc over LIV/ARS/MCI/TOT SGW players

I’ve pretty much come up with the same equation on RMT, a 15-20 point gain which is decent.

However I’m still considering non-FH. I’m pretty much ignoring defenders so a handful of forward players is not too tricky to get in for a total of 7 players and a couple of Luton is worth a hit in the week before.

But I’m not sure the gain in 34 is that great either and I’d like to protect and grow my ML lead (40 points) so FH probably still favourite.

FH insulates you against injuries in 29 ... if you lose a couple of key players you are into even more hits

The Hall of Shame Cup commences in GW29 and therefore many will use their FH so as to maximise their chances of winning and being crowned the Shame King!

Probably going to risk not using FH in GW29 and going with 6 or 7 players. Doesn't seem ripe for clean sheets so that's 4 spots that don't pose much threat. if I can cover highest owned 3 or 4 players I think I can get more value later. This season looks like key issues will go down to last couple of GWs so an FH in later GWs could prove a bigger differential. Plus City playing Arsenal in GW30 is interesting for those who do FH in 29

    5. The Mentaculus

I am. For me no-FH team = Son & Richarlison. Not too bothered about defenders but Toney, Bowen, Watkins, Bailey, Awoniyi looks worth it alone.

Also I don't want a whole ton of doublers in 34 if the likely DGWers are EVE/SHU/CRY/BOU/WOL and expect my team to be well set for doublers in 37 (City, Liverpool, Spurs, etc) without a FH.

      1. The Tonberry
        • 1 Year

I think for 34 you'd be okay with going for 5-7 DGW players and the rest being strong single GW players like Haaland, Saka, Watkins etc.

BB37 does seem like the play if it's expected that all the big teams will have a double gameweek then

    Hi guys

I’m one of those who will not be using free hit in 29. I have 6 already (not including Kabore), happy that I can get to 9, including most key players.

Big question for me as someone who hasn’t yet had a chance to bring back an Arsenal defender: what would you do here?

    A) Estupinan to Gabriel for free (then either get to 8 for 29 or take hits for more)

    B) Estupinan to Doughty (plays 4 games compared to Gabriel’s 2 over the next 3 GWs) or another defender playing in 29 for free

I know a lot have double Arsenal defence but best to go some way to correcting that mistake now?

    1FT 1.1ITB
    Areola
    Estupinan Cash Robinson

    Dubravka (Areola)
    Cash, Taylor, Gabriel (Udogie, Richards)
    KDB, Foden, Bowen, Saka, Gross
    Haaland, Watkins (Darwin)

Save the transfer for easier planning GW28 & GW29 ??

    GW28 Darwin ---- Solanke (+ Luton player)

    GW29 maybe without FH.

    Areola
    Udogie, Taylor, Cash
    Bowen
    Watkins
With 1 or 2 transfers bring in Spurs assets.

Add VAR making games last 10 mins longer and it's inevitable. Still, they want more games (the authorities) and they want more VAR (blue cards). If it continues, Liverpool won't be the only team fielding their u18 team...

This narrative that there's only a small niche of 'relevant' players
... so only 6 or 7 count in a blank game week is a bit weird.

    Is this EO domination?

It's not like low owned players don't haul and popular picks blank.

    Anyhow, each to their own.

    1. The Mentaculus

I think there's more than 7 good attcking options for 29, with Forest attackers being particularly overlooked. But maybe I agree that defensive spots don't look all that valuable unless Brentford can eke out a CS (because the CS % for the other teams will be very low, at least in my estimation)

      1. bench boost for every gamew…

The Forest overlooked is key. But most FH teams I've seen is going Luton assets. If they do that they lose their advantage.

Also folks need to factor in the team around BGW29. Taking multiple hits to navigate 29 may lose the opportunity of 28 as an example

        Yeah of course.

I'm not going to mention it again.

I've just got the 3 Villa players and I'd probably swap some of them up on a free hit.

I hope a lot of people save it for gw34/37. Gw34 would be the other play with a combo of blanks and doubles.

It's a challenge to the fixture and transfer planners to overcome!

        Have a good day.

I think folks need to realise it's quality over quantity.

Just stating x number of players and asking if that is good enough to FH or not isn't sufficient information. Folks need to know who the players are in order to assess these questions.

I’ve got the same number and not ruled out getting to 6/7 players by 29 but I think the c20 pt gain of a FH is probably worth it and there’s always a risk of injuries to the players you bring in without the benefit of FH so probably going with the chip. Plus GW34 doesn’t look that great a double anyway

Another problem is you'd likely be using 1-2 FTs in 28 for BOU players (Solanke + Senesi), who then don't play 29. I'm looking at those 2 in for 28 and FH29. WC and BB tbc.

Defence is in the mud! I was going to use 2 FTs to do Estu & Adebayo to Senesi & Solanke, but now one's close to a ban and one could be injured, what to do!

    Areola (Dub)
Estu / Regu / Saliba (Bell* / Baldock*)
    Palmer / Foden / Gordon / Saka / KDB
    Haaland / Watkins

Could do Estu to Zabarnyi if you're worried about the Senesi YC situation. Gabriel is also a good long term player to bring in. Doughty is also an option to attack the double in 28 and has a game in 29 if you're not free hitting.

Personally I'd just do Estu to Gabriel and assess again in GW28

I'll have four players with three transfers, one of which will get Solanke next week if he's ok and probably Neto. Looks like I'm on FH then! Otherwise rocking a 1-1-1 formation 🙂

    Areola
    Doughty
    Son
    Watkins

Aside from Salah, my team is set. I don't want to mess about selling triple City, triple Arsenal, Palmer. Plus I'll be swapping Alvarez to Solanke next week which doesn't gain anything for 29. This frees me to add Neto too, so four DGW28 players. Thinking of getting Richy back, Luiz, Toney, Barkley or Morris, Bowen. It's time for me I think.

Currently got 8 players for GW29, so it's an easy no-FH

Should I do the WC30, FH34, BB37 plan? Anyone in the same boat with a better idea?
