Is Morris a gamble to bring in for Haaland for next gw?
    Going to FH in 29.
    WC in 31.

    Unlikely to do it though

It's not playing with fear. it's making a calculated decision based on the pros and cons. Haaland could put 3 past anyone.

Do it. Morris with 3 games. Haaland with 1 against Liverpool. Can always bring him back in

      1. GoonerSteve
        • 16 Years
        1 year, 9 months ago

He's playing fh29. It's Morris dgw vs Haaland against one of his main title rivals. The next gw is irrelevant

        1. SUPERMAN
          • 13 Years
          1 year, 9 months ago

He’s suggesting bringing in Morris in 28. Where he has two games and a game in 30.
So three games v Haalands one.
          Gamble but could pay off.

He's playing free hit gw29 so that one is irrelevant. He can just get Morris on the free hit and not burn two transfers putting Haaland out and in. Haaland in a sgw could easily outscored Morris in the DGW.

It's not a gamble, it's reasonable and good move. I am doing similar and I am also without WC and saving FH for later.

I would only consider it if I had no FH for 29. So I am thinking about it but it could all go horribly wrong. And he is getting expensive to buy back too

If you are FH29 then it makes less sense. You only get 1 game over Haaland.

If you are not FH29, then you gain 2 games. I would be very interested in such a move.

thoughts or adjustments? wildcard to cover 28 & 29:

    areola (kelleher)
    moreno doughty sensei (regullion robinson)
    saka d.luiz bowen palmer son
    solanke watkins morris

    roll 29 then luiz-> salah in 30

Tempted to go early with Estupinan to Doughty.

I was going to do it before today’s deadline but saved the FT so I’ve got 2FTs.

Any reason to wait (beyond the obvious, threat of injury in training etc)?

Not free hitting in 29 but 4 of my 7 players are defenders. Shall I use my transfers on attackers instead or in addition to Doughty?

New Zealand will play Egypt in Abu Dhabi on Friday March 22, 2024.

Sounds like a bit of ding dong between Liverpool and Egypt over Mo Salah.

Liv want him excused from international duty. Egypt says if he plays any minutes they will call him up.

Not sure what this does to his chances of returning this week - I'd guess reduces?

Plan A was to keep Solanke for the DGW, then > Toney for 29, but I'm thinking now I might look at Haaland > Morris for 28 and Solanke > Muniz as my GW29 transfer.

    Would give me for 29:
    Areola
    Porro Doughty
Bowen Son Barkley (might hit out Saka for a 7th attacker yet)
    Watkins Morris Muniz

WC31, so short term thinking, but will lose value on Haaland I guess, and means betting against Toney

    Stick to plan A?
    or gamble?

    1. Fellaini's Fro
      • 12 Years

Muniz is hot but Just go with Solanke to Toney in GW29.

        Appreciate the response.
Surviving against the FHers is key, most of whom will go with Toney, so maybe better to match them rather than try and be clever.
Time to ponder the other bit.

So much randomness in the game atm I wouldn’t be surprised if FHers scored less than non FHers.

Something like fodder picks who happen to play who you wouldn’t think twice about picking on FH hauling etc.

GW34 will likely have doubles for teams with bang average fixtures either side. The big hitters will likely double in 37, so if you're building towards that you'll be glad of the FH to maximise 34.

      Thats my theory anyway

I can’t see it myself.. I think you can get 20+ point advantage over rivals who wait. Plus they may take hits to field 7-8 players for the blank.

    Kelleher Areola
    Saliba Gabriel Konsa Daughty Taylor
    Saka Foden Son Gordon Bowen
    Watkins Haaland Darwin

A WC 28 to attack 28 and setup for 29
B Take hits roughly -12points over 28 and 29 to manage and deadend team then WC 30/31

      Neither

Don't think you need - 12 to get through 29 there.

Darwin to solanke (I can't see anyone not going solanke this week) leaves you 7 players and 1 ft for 29, fielding 9 or 10 is fine

So you would recommend option B but a little conservatively and then WC 30? or keep for later?

          Yep

When to WC will depend on who you sign and how well the blanking teams perform in the weeks around the blank

Sky sports players - how are you navigating the blank without a free hit chip? Looks like fielding 5/6 players is the best we can hope for.

currently have 3 players, and i'm not going to be wasting precious transfers on junk that i'd only want to sell the following week, both gameday's are covered for captaincy though so that's the main thing

Only got Solanke for dgw 28, any defenders worth getting can replace Van Heke?

          I wouldn't bother over a AFCB defender (2x home vs 2x away) if I was FHing 29.
          Better fixtures 30/31 as well.

          But Doughty, since you ask

2FT, no FH in 29, WC in 30/31.
Estupinan, Ake, Foden on the chopping block. Haaland to Solanke (or Morris).

Who to move first and who to bring in?

    Dubravka (Raya)
    Moreno Porro Estupinan* (Ake* Reguilon)
    Palmer Bowen Son Saka* Foden*
    Watkins Toney Haaland*

      Haaland > Solanke > Morris/Muniz for 29
Estu or Ake > Doughty (not desperate for the DGW, but Forest at home in 29

Exact money to do this for a 4 point hit:

    Foden and Alvarez OUT
    Bowen and Solanke IN

No FH in 29, this would give me 10 players for that week. Should I do it?

Dunno what to do honestly? Use WC? Or take hits? Probably FH29!

    Watkins/Haaland/solanke

Why would you WC that? Much like my side and love it!
Richarlison and Taylor and maybe KDB after this GW need seeing to but other than that, great side.

Estu > Senesi, that’s what I’ll be doing anyway if he comes through unscathed from another booking.
Richarlison > Palmer perhaps, and work on KDB > Salah most likely, just my own plans anyway.

I had a similar team and wildcarded to:

      areola (kelleher)
      moreno doughty sensei (regullion robinson)
      saka d.luiz bowen palmer son
      solanke watkins morris

roll 29 (or solanke to Muniz) then luiz-> salah in 30
bringing Haaland & Foden back in for 31

Just curious why WC to that and then have to work on bringing back Arsenal defence etc?
I know you have a plan there for Salah and Haaland etc but seems a lot of needless work no?

some of it is frustration. I had some unfortunate injuries lately trent, jota, richardson, maguire, archer. I've had a tit full so time to reset

Understood, I know how that can influence the decision to WC, I hope it works out well bud!
