What actually determines which matches will be in what DGWs? I know its either 34 or 37 but is there a reason a particular fixture will go in 34 over 37 or vice versa? Or is it just completely random?

I think you'll find it depends on all the other fixtures in 3/4 other cup competitions including European weeks and international break time frames...

      It's actually team dependent!

Just not your fantasy team but the actual team 😉

Whats up with this extra -1pts from Reguilon? These 2 goals came after he went off. Isnt that minute-wise approach a rule, especially considering CS points.

Yes he left his team with 10 so its a lot of his fault if they concede goals without him

I play Fan Team so get an extra -2 for conceding a pen. Was essentially a -5 point tackle.

It was changed to this a few years ago.

Before then you could, say, give away a penalty and get sent off in the 65th minute but still get a clean sheet and maybe bonus even though you were basically culpable.

What's the difference between wc30 and wc31 it's 1 week difference and some people asking the question ?

    1. GreennRed
      • 14 Years

Slim chance some hitters you're planning on buying on WC could miss out GW30 for injuries, late return etc and your WC team not as good as you'd like that GW. But 31 very soon after, rotation possible. Apologies that's not really answering the question but GW32 might see more settled lineups. My OR is awful anyway so prob being too pessimistic.

Thinking of the below moves for GW30 and GW31 but require hits though and leaves 0.3 ITB. What do you think?

    A. Konsa > Gusto
    B. Solanke > Darwin

    C. Martinelli > Salah
    D. Watkins > Mubama

    Current Team

    Dubravka
    Gabriel / Konsa / Porro
    Palmer / Son / Martinelli / Saka / Foden
    Watkins / Haaland

    Areola | Solanke | Branthwaite | Kerkez

Really think the majority that blew their FH in 29 will go down as the worst decision of this season.

How are teams without a FH planning on attacking a DGW34 that probably includes Man Utd, Newcastle, Wolves, Bournemouth, Palace + Sheff Utd?!

    1. Mr. O'Connell

I mean it was hard to forsee that level of carnage. Posted a tongue in cheek comment last week about ideal FH being triple Fulham, triple Burnley and triple Forest - if you'd gone with the likely lot from those you'd be on 50+ points. Of course noone had the bottle to do it, though.

Not saying it won’t. Just saying there is a DGW coming up where you’re not likely to want to own the majority of players for more than 1 week 🙂

Bold. Not many people were doing that with so few players. I think you did well with that call. I bet you weren't expecting to do so well out of it this GW though. It's worked out well for you.

I took a gamble a few weeks back by going very light on the GW25/28 DGW's and it worked out well for me with green arrows. Probably should have kept that going for this GW but would have settled for a 10-20pt gain.

I'm guessing you are saving your WC to GW35/36?

Tbf if you picked some point scoring players over the average of 6 points and safety score of 13 then you could have prospered too.

You'd have to weigh it up post gw34 too.

      3. EWH2020

No it still wasn't the right call. The fixtures were always atrocious. Even an -8 to get 5 or 6 out would have been optimum. Covering the main ones like Watkins, Toney, Son (who everyone had) the rest was always just bottom of the barrel players from poor sides

The goal was to avoid loads of hits going into GW29. I saved heaps of points by avoiding these hits. I can also plan a WC nearer to a BB which could be considered more optimal if your team is solid now.

Some potential hitters there. Some players doing well even if their team isn't. Wouldn't go all in on them and leave very few left from other teams. But couldn't be ar$ed at this stage either.

FH isn,'t just about the GW itself though. It allows you to plan differently for the GWs around it as well. Those of us how have planned properly do not have to WC GW30 or 31 to Get rid of players bought in for the blank GW so will have a WC in hand to over most non FHers tp target the expected DGW in GW35 or GW36, and DGW37 rather than just a FH to target one of DGWs 34 or 37. My FH was taken with that in mind with additional points treated as a bonus. I was only expecting 10 to 20 which l may still get, plus gains which I wouldn''t have made over the last 5 GWs if wasn't using FH in GW28.

      1. GreennRed

Taking hits before yesterday would probably have been worse. The timing of chips is important alright but more important is who is playing the chip and the transfers in and out, subs and captain choices they make. Good players are shrewd, I'm not one of them. But good luck to those that are.

By playing strong squads and seeing if Man Utd v Sheffield United is a dgw trap?

Or perhaps by buying a Man United player to complement Arsenal etc.

      It's not too difficult.

Strange to see so many lazy, insecure, needy comments on here this GW.

It was never about 29 in isolation. It was never going to be high scoring. But to decide to FH early and eliminate those players from thought has enabled those to make good gains leading up to it and no doubt next week too. There will be a further boost as lots of WC being played in 30/31 to get rid of Villa/WH/Luton etc and we get to play our WC a bit later

I suspect those chest beating have an OR > 100k and yesterday represented the only day this season they felt like they won

I think the wildcard to restructure into a Salah team for the last 9/10 games makes a lot of sense.

The way I see it the doubles are much easier to play into, especially big dgw37 for a final BB chip.

Ngl, after a disastrous FH29, feels good to have my original team back and give the armband to Salah

Will Wolves’ FA cup loss have something to say for the FPL schedule?

It means Wolves play Arsenal in gw34 which is pretty significant for everyone tbf.

A Bowen goal or two and FH29 will feel like a triumph. I never understand why so many people start the celebrating/wailing and teeth gnashing long before the 'final whistle'

I imagine most non FH teams will have Bowen too

Anyone planning to not free hit likely has Bowen.

It’s someone like Kudus or Paqueta who’d potentially hurt non FHers.

Bowen is >86% owned at my rank

      Kudus is just under 25%

Need to make these moves to get salah and haaland back in-
Toney Maddison Son & Bowen > Haaland Salah Palmer & Sarabia

    How best to do this?
    A. -4 this week and -4 next
    B. -8 this week
    C. Over 3 GWs to limit hits

    *WC played- FH34 BB37 (hopefully)

You just need to hope that all 3 don't play, then you'll almost double your score!

You needed to be on Casimero by the looks of it!

They will have travelled yesterday so unlikely.

Casimero out of today's classic FA Cup clash of Manchester United v Liverpool according to Brazil.

England play Brazil on Saturday and Belgium on Tuesday at Wembley...

Should I just hit the wildcard today if that's why I have in mind?

Muniz 13 - 10 others, Bowen, Areola + Watkins(?) to go. It's going to be tight, 13-13 wouldn't surprise me. Usually seeing C fail isn't fun, but yesterday was tbh 🙂

How much money do you have in the bank? Can anyone beat my current personal record, 14.2 million?
