Early wildcarders can exploit attractive fixtures in GW30-33, and load up on Chelsea/Spurs; and navigate GW34 with the FH. Team dependent of course.

If you have triple Spurs and Watkins and able to get Salah in this week with no hit- with fixture turn for Arsenal Man City Liverpool in 31 what are benefits of WC 30 over 31?

      Team dependant.

I am more likely to WC 31-33. Better for my setup, imo.

Not sure about the Spurs and Newcastle defenders. They don't keep clean sheets. Yes Porro may get the odd attacking return...

I'm not sure either, but Lascelles is ok with the BB37 in mind, There's a real paucity of defensive options

An additional complication is if you have FH/WC/BB available AND TC.

Not sure how to max out all four in remaining weeks, so could use TC in LIV's single GW30 on Salah/Nunez.

    Petrovic, Kelleher
    Gabriel, White, Ait-Nouri, Gusto, Porro
    Salah, Saka, Son, Maddison, Palmer
    Haaland, Darwin, Muniz

WC Draft, FH in 34, and BB in 37

    Any good?

Very good. Can easily be a great BB34 team too.
Losing Foden for me is just too tough. MCI with all to play for, and nailed for 90mins it seems.
What do you think of Semenyo over Muniz? Dgw34, nailed, hot form...

The juicy MCI fixture (ie Luton) is sandwiched between the CL QF though. City also playing every 3 or 4 days until May.

Only difference to my BB team is I have C.Richards, Foden, Semenyo for your White, Maddison, Muniz.

Plan is to do Porro to White gw33, and Son to Eze/Olise gw34. Will help me with affording Alisson if needed for dgw34, but I doubt it. With 1/2 transfers to spare for injuries...

Great article but gameweek 30/31 wildcarders like Zoph are sleepwalking into a mistake.

Triple Chelsea and Spurs long term is a mistake.

Much better to target a BB in 34 with a wildcard now and FH in 37.

That means you hold better players from better teams like Arsenal and Liverpool longer and don't have to be constantly spending transfers on repairing your team between GW 30/31 to 37. As 34 is far sooner and has an extra fixture, it makes the BB easier.

      WC in 30/31
      BB in 34
      FH in 37

... Is the way to go if you didn't use your free hit in 29.

Another big plus point is your FH team in 37 will be fully customised and bespoke for gameweek 37 ... And you can react beautifully to what teams have to play for at that time. If you start to build now for BB37, you have no idea how the league table will look in mid May. Chelsea and Spurs may be marooned in the table and rotating and blooding the kids by then for example.

      Maybe you're missing this point.
The game is far more fun and less prone to blaming others, if you play your own game based on experience [yes, that includes making your own mistakes] rather than playing to prescriptive plans formulated by other speculators.

I'm just making an argument for what I think is the better chip strategy for those with a FH. All it takes is for Andy to recommend WC30 FH34 and BB37 and independent thought in the community goes out of the window.

" what I think is the better chip strategy for those"

Let 'those' work it out for themselves and determine their own moves which leave them making their 'own' successful strategies or their 'own' mistakes.

The game is being suffocated by a multitude of folk muddying people's brains with a myriad of opinions.

Plus do you really want to be relying on clean sheets from the Spurs defence long term?

WC 30 31 BB34 FH37 is the way to go.

I don't think I am convinced on anything conclusively being 'the way to go' im open to all possibilities. If there wasnt that smaller double in 35/36 I would see more merit in this. That double is a good one for chelsea in particular if it goes in 36

I think its big to get on the chelsea vs Burnley fixture now, they have many doubles to come too, and beat the price rises. You can then afford the other big hitters for no hits. I was all set on wc31 til this fixture changed my mind

WC30-BB34-FH37 doesn't work because it means having no Chelsea and Spurs immediately after DGW34.

Also, you'll be loading up on players from teams that are undesirable long-term like Bournemouth, Palace, and Everton. It makes more sense to load up on Newcastle and United. Also, having United (vs SHU) already in place means being able to save the FH in DGW34 just in case something happens.

Like I said, you have free transfers to cover the main protagonists like Palmer and Son if you want them at the time.

WC now to BB so far into the future (37) is a mistake. That's the beauty of the FH37. You pick whoever doubles and also has something to play for at the time.

No, if the double goes in GW35 then it's ONE FT to get in both Son and Palmer. So that's already a -4 to cover the main captain candidates, what about Maddison, Porro, Udogie, and Gusto?

It's VERY obvious you haven't thought this through.

Crellin thinks it's more likely that the double goes into 36.

Maddison, Porro, Udogie, and Gusto are not very scary players to be honest, m8. I'd expect single GW Arsenal players and City players to outscore them that week.

See? You've not thought about this properly otherwise you'd realize his team already has 2x Arsenal and 2x City.

It's the leftover players from BB34 from Bournemouth, Palace, and Everton vs Spurs and Chelsea.

You've not thought this through because they would be benched in 36 in favour of doublers.

You're not getting the biggest drawback of wildcarding now to get 15 doublers in 37. Which is that it is an age away.

Do you have a draft for your "much better" WC30-BB34-FH37 strategy?

Not sure it is a mistake Virgin to have 3 Chelsea and Spurs now.

The three best Chelsea players appear to include Gusto and Petrovic and they can be benched most weeks without affecting the strength of the team.

For Spurs, Maddison can be benched for a third striker when needed and Porro can be benched as well as a defender and you can pick 3 of the other 4.

There is an opportunity cost to filling precious places on your team with the likes of Gusto, Petrovic, Maddison, Porro etc. I'd rather carry players from Liverpool and Arsenal long term.

Plus the big advantage is proximity.

It's easier to BB to 34 because it is much closer and makes it easier to get 15 out.

It's easier to FH37 because you don't have to try and predict what the league table will look like in mid May now.

If I had WC, FH and BB I think I'd aim for that and especially if the DGW for Che/Spurs is 36. That gives you an extra week's FTs to make your move.

Nice article, but I think Zoph's team needs to be more aggressive on Liverpool. With TAA expected back in GW31 and the Thursday-Sunday turnaround to GW32, Klopp will likely start Bradley in both GW30 and GW31 before starting Trent in GW32, so Bradley with the plan to sell after GW32 becomes a very shrewd option for WC30-FH34 strategies.

    Petrovic Onana
    Gabriel Porro Gusto Bradley Lascelles
    Salah Son Saka Palmer Garnacho
    Haaland Darwin Isak

I think this team outscores the team in the article.

    Dub Areola
    Gab Porro Doughty Reggy Taylor
    Son Maddison Foden Bowen Palmer

    1 FT, 12+ in bank.

Money should be fine, agree on Gusto. Haaland and Saka would both come back so that's the main risk if I wait til 31. Much easier to load up on Arsenal vs Luton etc.

You’re on 3 Spurs plus Watkins who has Wolves home - I would wait until 31 which lets you see if Darwin for example misses another yellow. Only issue may be defence so if Doughty still out perhaps switch to Gusto with good Burnley fixture ( assuming he has recovered from illness which will probably be the case)

If you plan to hold all 3 Spurs on WC30 then it makes sense, if not then WC31.

Would you do Porro and Foden to Ait-Nouri and Salah (c) for a hit? Plan to dead end in 34. If I postpone the Salah transfer one week it would be Son (c) this week.

      A. hit doesn't appeal unless you plan to captain Son and Saka plays Luton in 31
      B. Probably no but need to factor in other chips you have left.
      C. Maybe but depends on other chips and how you plan to navigate 34

Maybe it's luck of how the DGWs have fallen, but I feel like I'm in a better position than the guys that decided not to FH29.

Most of the non-FH teams seem to need to WC now because in order to avoid FH, they had to load up on Spurs, Villa, Luton etc and took out the likes of Haaland, Bournemouth, Arsenal in some cases. So their teams are looking a bit depleted.

And a WC now has problems for setting up effective BBs in 34 or 37.

I can get to this team in GW34 with a -4:

    Kelleher
    Gabriel Andersen Branthwaite
    Salah Saka Odegaard XX
    Haaland Darwin Solanke

That XX is a FT I can bring in whoever I want. I don't see what value a FH34 has over that XI. At all. And I think I have another FT to swap Kelleher as well if Alisson is back fit (which I don't think he will be tbh...)

WC now is also absolutely fine to catch the price rises and get in Salah, Son well in time for their amazing fixtures....just load up on Spurs, Chelsea players on a WC so that you are ready for DGW 36/37, FH in 34 and get in all CRY, WOL, BOU players along with LIV and ARS players.... and plan your transfers for effective BB in 37
Everyone knows FH 29 was a total disaster and you can say anything to make yourself feel better but that won't change anything...Good luck

That's not the point I'm making. The point is that I think I'm in a better position overall because I don't have to WC now.

FH'ers in 29 are struggling to deadend 34 because they have too many GW29 players so are pushed into an earlier than ideal WC.

I don't think I give up much at all even in GW30-33 which is where the early WC'ers would hope to gain ground. A -4 next week and I have triple Pool, triple Arsenal and all the big EO threats.

What advantage did the early WC give them then?

Overall, even though FH29 was bad, because it allowed me to keep my triple Arsenal, double Bournemouth team, it's been worth it. The value of the FH wasn't in the upside of that week itself but that it allowed me to preserve my original team which is stronger positioned going into 34 and doesn't force me into an early WC.

What's the point in this post? Is it to tell others they are on an inferior chip strategy to you?

No, I'm saying I got lucky. The fixtures have fallen in such a way that I think it's worked out better for FH29 gang than for the deadenders.

All the people that didn't FH29 were gloating saying they won because it was such a low scoring week, but in reality, I think because the fixtures have come the way they have, I think I'm favored.

Obviously it could have been different if the fixtures weren't as nice. So... yeah. Luck.

On the contrary I didn't fh in 29 and basically did nothing as I thought the games were poor.
Only have son Doughty and watkins..I believe I'm in a good place as I will get salah in this week and thinking of actually saving my fh for 38

Yeah maybe you're the real winner. There's potentially value in doing it that way. Triple chip finish - WC36, BB37, FH38.

But if you only had Son, Doughty, Watkins, then your price was GW29 because even a meagre 20 points is better than 6.

    Thoughts on this WC draft

    Petrovic/ Areola
    White/ Ait-Nouri/ Udogie/ Gusto/ Lascalles
    Salah/ Saka/ Palmer/ Sarabia/ Son
    Darwin/ Haaland/ Isak

The biggest problem is no LIV defence but Van Dijk is very expensive to have and not sure if there are any other options. Also, going without Watkins is always a risk

If your team can field 7/8 dgw players in 34....is there a temptation to save the fh for 38?

Anyone who does a wc at somepoint and with the plan to bb37, I think it leaves a pretty weak 38 team post bb37 with hardly any liverpool and arsenal in their teams.

    Thoughts anyone?

Planning for GW38, a gameweek notoriously unpredictable because players with nothing to play for could be rested, mediocre players with survival to play for could score big and good players who are starting are on teams that are on the beach.

By which point in time most mini leagues have already been decided.

What are people’s thoughts on Foden for the rest of the season? Season keeper?

Currently debating what combo is best for my WC 30 FH 34 BB 37 strategy?

    A) Foden and Muniz
    B) Garnacho and Isak

If Isak stays fit for the rest of the season, I'd say B edges it.

Son is good for the next 3 GW's, then I'm not sure about the subsequent 3. Agree with Salah being a bigger priority. If you can make an upgrade on Garnacho in Salah/Son, I'd go for it - otherwise MCI have a few tough fixtures ahead..

After a good 10 minutes of thought I’ve settled on a WC team and chip strategy.

WC30, had to after bringing in loads of rubbish for 29

FH34, because I want to hold Chelsea/Spurs for double in 35/36

BB37, because I’ll have more doublers that week.

Nice and easy. Good luck all

      I’ve sold for Darwin reluctantly.
I think it’s a gamble that could pay off.
Three nice home games then the double.

Could also backfire of course, but think it’s worth the gamble.
