Was it Tadic who got four assists a few years ago in a game? If my memory serves me correctly 😀

Yes, he did.. twice he provided hat-trick of assists.
Tadic, Michu, Sigurdsson, Payet these guys were FPL heroes at one point.

One season, my final WC I filled my team with penalty takers. 8-10 GWs left, can't remember, and not one penalty conceded - except the one that Tadic missed 🙂

I think it was his final PL season and I wasn't the only one glad to see the back of him. But then, he turned it around and became a good player

64%, my advice would be, when in doubt, go for what seems like the least likely answer!

      Long old slog, that.

69%. A couple of guesses but a FPL pertinent ones. Wood's hat-trick, Udogie's red card, KDB return vs Newcastle, Harvey Barnes vs West Ham, Olise v United etc.

Why has Pochettino left just when Chelsea is doing so much better?
Wonder who will replace him? So many teams looking for a great manager.

The current tradition is to take anything good Brighton produce, but I don't think De Zerbi is a good call. Not because of his tactical chops, but because he's not a doormat. Tuchel and Poch pushed back against the board's baloney and DeZ will too. I think they'll find McKenna more pliable before sacking him 4 months into the job.

Q1. The analytical tools that this year's champion discusses below - can it be assumed that these are subscription-only tools like (at a guess) FPLreview massive data model?
Q2. Is there a realistic chance of someone winning FPL without paying for such tools, or copying someone else who uses them?

    Using analytics to plan ahead

“In recent years, mainly through other Fantasy Football games, I've got a totally new perspective when it comes to Fantasy Football,” said Labakk. “I’m a huge fan of analytics and optimisation.

“It’s no news that you need some positive variance or luck in order to win FPL, but it also requires much from you. You have to put in hours. You have need to do research.

“I recently adapted the analytics into my playing style, and I'm 100 per cent sure I would never have become No 1 had it not been for that.

“It's mainly models that I use, where they take a lot of Expected stats. I don't know how many stats they use and how they exactly use it, but the end product is what they call ‘Expected Value’.

“Out of that, over a four to six-Gameweek span, for example, you can see how they expect the player to perform."
Avoiding points hits and early transfers

Labakk’s meticulous approach meant he took just a trio of minus-four points hits over his successful campaign.

On each of those three occasions, his decisions were influenced by Blank or Double Gameweeks. In Gameweek 17, he removed the injured Erling Haaland ahead of Manchester City’s Blank Gameweek 18, while he made two transfers in both Double Gameweek 28 and Blank Gameweek 29 to help him navigate the late-season schedule.

“I now try to avoid hits as much as possible,” said Labakk. “And I have a structured plan where I plan for, let's say, between four to six weeks in advance. But obviously there might be injuries that can occur."
