A forward line of Watkins, Isak, Solanke is scary but tempting. 15M is just too much.

Been wanting more bankable transfers forever. The other known changes are small but also welcome. I imagine that losing free transfer when playing a chip was originally an oversight anyway.

With 5 bankable transfers, though, I would prefer fewer/no chips.

The mystery chip has been leaked on Twitter via a screenshot of a WhatsApps chat with Mark S. and other high profile content creators. Can't be 100% sure but looks legit.

Park the bus chip: when played double clean sheet points for all 5 defenders and 2 goalkeepers in a single gameweek.

5 FT might mean people are inclined to make fewer transfers, which should still play into the hands of the risk takers in the short term.

    1. Andy_Social
      • 13 Years
      1 year, 5 months ago

My immediate thought re. strategy is to have 13 active outfielders and only use transfers when covering injuries. That way build up multiple mini-WCs.

    2. Pino
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 9 Years

      Not really.

You can save 5 FT, then lets say use 3. You still have 2 left +1 extra each GW. So once you saved up many transfers you are much more flexible in the future.

Im a risk taker and dont like the change.

The complexity of the models will rise exponentially with each potential transfer that can be carried forward. There are so many more "what ifs" around holding FTs and for how many weeks vs bringing a certain player in now. It will also mean the models take exponentially longer to run.

10 points for a goalkeeper scoring is stupid. I know this is likely the least significant change, but given there is always a huge element of spawniness in a goalkeeper goal, why are we increasing the reward for that?

I'm not a fan of giving out baps according for team performance, though, like conceding a goal. One advantage of a BPS over the man-in-the-stands is that PotM can focus on individual performance and remove team/results-based bias.

Plenty to dislike about the bps, though, so I shan't dwell on it. The bps changes are more good than bad, and a change at all is just a little bit exciting in and of itself!

I think getting PotM for a single event is never right, unless the other 21+ players shaat themselves and rolled around in their own muck for the whole game.

I'd have preferred points for so many ball recoveries or tackles/headers personally. These changes are just going to increase the points differential between attacking and defensive players which reached an all time high last season.

yea. i wonder how many times Saliba would've have missed out on bonus last season with these changes to Saka/Ode/Havertz etc who only got 1 attacking return but now get an extra 5-7+ bps for fouls won/SOT

  17. theplayer
    • 12 Years

With goalie bps being reduced for a pen save, is it not only fair that scoring a pen should've been reduced too? I've always thought 24 bps is too much for scoring a pen (if that player is a forward).

I think FOMO will mean the overwhelming majority of people won't even get close to banking 5 FTs. You'd have to be very strong willed to make it to near enough October without making a transfer. There's always a shiny new toy available, niggling injury, rotation risk etc.

But if you save 3 transfers, then make 1, won’t you have 3 transfers still the next week?

Save for 2 more weeks and you have 5?

That doesn’t seem so hard if you get a bit lucky

It's not about banking 5. It's about having the strategic option to roll extra be that 2 or 3 or 4 depending on how your team is setup. It's just a good change all around and has there's no real downside to it in any way.

I agree 5 isn't a magic number you have to aim for, but I think anything above two is basically a psychological test we've not had yet and I think that the vast majority (me included) will cave before we get there. It has the potential to be a brilliant change, introduces dilemmas and decisions we've not been exposed to before.

idk. People might think even more short-termy, lulled into security by the possiblility of banking transfers, only to find then need to make more transfers as a result of their short-termism. Higher risk plays are more feasable but the risk is still higher.

Most people struggle to save 2 transfers for more than a week or two, who is out there putting a gram out and making no transfers for 5 weeks? #DeadTeamsFTW

How many time has a goalkeeper scored a goal and how do these extra points change people’s strategy? Makes no difference.
