    Thoughts on this WC team?

    Raya Ward
    Robbo VVD Konsa Robinson Faes
    Palmer Saka Jota ESR Rogers
    Haaland Wissa Pedro

I worry about not having Salah but it’s basically him or Haaland and hope Jota is decent enough cover

Cheers. What are your thoughts on dropping haaland to a Watkins/havertz to get Salah for jota and Trent for VVD?

Obviously Haaland has started well but I’m not sure if his money spread around the team would bring in more points long term.

Well having endlessly playing around with different drafts I do prefer Salah ones over Haaland, but Haaland is probably the better captain pick these days, so that's pretty significant, the moves you propose are good, but don't do it unless you're sure you won't be taking hits to get Haaland back in as soon as hauls

I know that’s what I’m struggling with. Haaland will inevitably get lots of points it’s just can I be ok with that and will I get more points in everyone else. But as you mentioned the captaincy aspect is huge

Just to rotate I think I will ignore Wissa.
As a fellow WCer, I will use 352 formation thru the season.
When my other striker doesnt has good fixture I will switch to 451.
Thats why I fancy good 4.5m defender over 5.5 m striker

That’s true I do have a good defence which could cover it. But any idea if Pedro’s mins are secured with their new signing (I think Rutter is his name) coming in? I don’t want to be left with just one playing striker

No idea. But for now I have Welbeck and Pedro. I get rid of Welbeck when he reach 5.7m before deadline, and planned to get Pedro on 5.5m. Hence both is on my team
Gotta ride the waves for now, Pedro for your case.

One question - do you intend holding Wissa or just got him for the Sou game? If so what replacement do you have in mind.

Also this was my first draft. Since then I have risked it by going Saka to Salah and funded this by third forward to 4.5 and Robbo and VVD to TAA and a 4.0
I am still unsure which option is best. I think I will go with the riskier Salah and Haaland one. The main reason is not a good one. I just want to put off the decision of which one to lose and what formation I really want til GW 6 or 7

      1. Areid13

I was planning on rotating Wissa with Pedro over the coming weeks I don’t really have a plan to get rid or him yet.

I see a lot of Liverpool clean sheets coming and I’d prefer two players to just Trent even if he’s their highest scorer.

I started this season with both Salah and Haaland and I’d love to keep both but I’ve been missing Arsenal attacking coverage and palmers fixtures are too good to ignore so someone has to go but I can’t really decide who. It might be haaland but it’ll be so difficult to get him back in if I need so I might keep him for now.

I think Jota can match Salah. Once he get bench, we can move to other option, or even Salah if we bank few FTs.
Three of Jota, TAA, Robbo is better than Salah, Robbo + 2.5 m defender. My plan is to get all three. As robbo is a long term pick

          1. Areid13
            • 12 Years

Good thinking. Salah is much easier to bring in than haaland and while using my wildcard I can’t afford to set myself up to need to rejig my team to bring haaland back in so I think I’ll go haaland over Salah

What you got already is a lot more balanced than my suggestion. If you like the pool defence Robbo has been really attacking too. So the combo could do the well. There is a world where Robbo out scores TAA over a few weeks.

Yeah I’m happy with the Robbo pick and I think I need haaland for captaincy and easier to go from him to Salah than the other way around. Thanks for the advice.

No love for Watkins or United def?

Having watched Watkins the first couple games I think he looks off it so I’d rather not have him and be wrong than get him bc everyone else says to and then be kicking myself that I didn’t back myself. And as a United fan I really like the mazraoui pick but I’m also happy staying away from our defence lol. Quite happy with double Liverpool over the next few weeks unfortunately

I think this looks really good.

As a Brighton fan, I'm concerned over Pedro's minutes going forwards - we've signed so many players, but nobody's sure how/when they will be integrated into the team.

If you can rotate Wissa/Pedro as stated that's fine - do you have potential replacements for either?

      1. Areid13

Yeah I was worried about Pedro too after all the signings but I haven’t got a replacement in mind. Guess it remains to be seen but I could maybe shift to welbeck if he’s still playing on some other 5.5 but don’t love many others tbh

    Drop Salah for Palmer?

    Salah + Nkunku ---> Palmer + Diaz

    Have Jota.

Just about a yay Palmer is too good to ignore and nkunku needs to go. From my own experience it’s very tough to sell Salah when he’s started the way he has though

My thoughts exactly, need to get Palmer and rid of Nkunku and selling Salah (or Haaland) is the only way. Tough decisions

      Alternatively

      Nkunku + Isak ---> Palmer + Jebbison

Essentially gutting my bench with Barco still sitting nicely on the 3rd seat

If your starting 11 is good I don’t mind that option either but I struggle having a bench in non players myself. Depends if you’re happy taking a risk that someone doesn’t play or gets injured

Jebbison gone on loan to Watford.
Looking at Stewart as he might have some small chance of minutes, but -78% and don’t want a drop. Anyone got an info on when he might be available - showing as red, lack of match fitness right now.

No, Jota could be dropped any week, Salah wont be, see what happens in the Chelsea game tonight, if Nkunku starts again with Madueke on the bench then that's a good sign that Madueke will start Vs Palace, so just do the simple Nkunku to Madueke trade which could pay off nicely in the short term at least

      1. Eze Really?

It's true, I think once you know that and have an exit plan at the ready then someone like Madueke could be worth a short term punt,

Madueke is tempting but I agree that Palmer is the stand out choice. Tough to get without dropping Salah or Haaland.

There are a multitude of choices this season so there will always be caveats.

Trent is 7.0 for a reason. He’s the best asset and I think a must if you are on WC.

Konate is a short term option at best. I think he will be rotated. Slot picked him gameweek 1 for a reason. He’s the future and will be getting lots of minutes this season.

Pedro since he is likely to play full game with last 10-15 mins upfront and probably on PK duties as well.

unless injuries galore planning on wc gw 6, what are your plans for wc, is there a wc that seems better with change of fixtures?

Morning chaps! Pretty happy with my team now despite 1.8m rank, good to go for this week? 1ft spent rolling the other

    Henderson
    Porro Gvardiol Trent
Palmer (c) Saka salah CHO jota
    Isak muniz

    Trash can bench

Henderson, Odoi, and Muniz are major issues in my opinion. I would lose two of those for gw4 but seems somewhat okay to keep for one more.

I think that’ll be the plan, I could lose odoi to Rodgers this week but wolves at home looks a very good fixture for now and the same for muniz with Ipswich away.

Watkins just ain't gonna go down until I get him in is he? Been waiting 3 days now, him hovering at the -97% mark.

Not happening. His % is dropping. Possible late flurry of sales but unlikely.

Concern is if he blanks again next gameweek he'll almost certainly drop then even with the plum fixtures, ah well it's the game we play.

This GW, 390k sold and 160k bought Watkins...and he is on 97% to drop as per FPLstatistics.com so he might just hold on but no guarantees of course. If he blanks, will definitely drop.

    Thoughts on this?

    Raya 4.0
    TAA Robinson Konsa Lewis Greaves
    Salah Palmer Saka Jota Rogers
    Watkins Wissa J.Pedro

Wissa/J.Pedro rotate nicely until Haaland comes back in GW7

It's a good team, but I question a bit the strategy if you're intent on getting Haaland back GW7

Essentially you're giving up 2 FT in order to have something like

      (Saka/Wissa) vs (ESR/Haaland) for

      Saka: BRI, spu, mci, LEI
      Wissa: SOU, mci, spu, WHU

      ESR: ips, WHY, NEW, nfo
      Haaland: why, BRE, ARS, new

      Haaland's fixtures aren't that bad

      1. AD105
        • 9 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

Take your point but it’s really Saka/Watkins vs ESR/Haaland, Saka/Wissa is far cheaper than ESR/Haaland

Planning to roll at least 2 transfers to GW7 which should enable me to shuffle the pack and get Haaland back in

Thinking Garnacho and Isak to Palmer and Welbeck
    Yay or nay?

    Whole team would then be;

    Flekken, Areola
    Porro, Saliba, Mazraoui, Robinson, Barco
    Saka, Jota, Eze, Palmer, Winks
    Haaland, Muniz, Welbeck

Yup. However even 4 assists over the next 8 will just mean 25 or so points if they dont get clean sheets. Waiting a week or two to see their CS prospects before pouncing(will swap Robinson for him)

Thinking of selling Isak? Had only 1 shot vs Nfo in the league cup of 120 minutes?Didn’t return vs Bou? Fluke assist vs Sou? Or are you just disappointed in Newcastle as a whole?

I would say Spurs are more of a crap team like Man Utd than Newcastle. Newcastle atleast plays a decent brand of football from neutral perspective.

    Raya + 4.0 or Martinez + Ramsdale?

I prefer the former but someone made a good point about having 2 keepers making bench boost an option at any point in the season.

Raya the much better option of the two. What is the point for suffering Ramsdale / Southampton results just for BB in the future? Just plan ahead nearer the time or wildcard then BB the following week.

    Roll ft?

    Henderson
    TAA Konsa Robinson

    Haaland Isak Muniz

    4.0; Porro, Winks, Barco*

roll. Barco ain't great but he's price locked and you have bench cover

Isak in the last chance saloon. Havertz an option but you may want to go even cheaper if you want to upgrade elsewhere

I think the concern lies within minutes. Salah will get the most of the attacking 3. Then there is now 5 players for 2 spaces. Time will tell when Champs League hits how Liverpool rotate the front 3
