WC-ing and toying with the idea of 2 x 4.5m up front alongside Harland. None of the other forwards really inspire me and it allows me a a really good 4-5-1. Mental?

More cutting off your nose to spite your face to just have 13 players. You're right about lack of quality forwards but lrss scope then to go out to 3,4,5 FT when needed to avoid hits.

The thing is, if you're having duds on your bench, a defensive dud cost you 4.0. Attacking costs you 4.5. And at least the defensive duds will get a token 1/2 points a game

That wasted million is maybe 25 points lost in value alone, and then not having that top up point or 2 when your dud is auto subbed in.

Yes. A lot depends on how they lineup tonight. I have a feeling Jota is either benched completely or gets limited minutes off the bench. Should be good for the weekend hopefully.

Agree. I really don’t want to sell him before he hauls, would be a huge equalizer to the Diaz crowd.

For me, it’s him or Mbuemo, so definitely tough

The fact that Jota sold himself last week on a WC rather than just benching himself was enough for me to give up hope in him.

as time begins at the big bang there i no before.... its like asking "what is north of the north pole" its an ill defined question, all you can ask is "whats south of the north pole" consequently we can only answer "what happened after the big bang"

DCL or Wood? which forest defender?

But we can also ask "Why did this apparently spontaneous and not-inevitable event happen?".
And are there an infinite number of parallel universes in which it didn't happen, or is it impossible for these to exist without a big bang to start them off?

There have been a number of different theories and statements about this, but its main purpose is to enable Russian tanks to identify other Russian tanks and prevent them from attacking each other.

How many punty picks is it safe to have on a WC? It feels like there are potentially lots of transfers waiting to happen with the pool of WC options due to rotation/minutes risks (Lewis, Diaz), out of form defences with good fixtures (Brentford, Everton), inconsistent budget attackers (Semenyo, Rogers, DCL, Pedro).

I think so on WC, but you aren't rotating your back 3 ever so in your specific case, its manageable. I would probably prefer a GK rotation if I wasn't on Raya or Alisson for GK.

If it is Saka injured then as I've already sold Salah for Saka to try and build some price rises and totally wasted my wildcard 😀 I don't need to worry too much because I can bring Salah back in for .2 more lol

Anyone in the same boat ? What would your plan be? Not saying he will be injured but I'm kind of expecting it haha

Yeah . Wondered if anyone would just go Palmer or something. That .2 extra makes a difference trying to squeeze Haaland and Salah in. Total waste of wildcard. I have a bad feeling about it all. Taking off your best player when a man down mmm

Yeah it's hard to get a nice team with Salah, Trent and Haaland. I had this from the start and it was really limiting me even though I had an amazing start. I think I would have to drop one of them

      Pretty fair prediction.
What do you draw for FPL? Avoid defense?
Kova, Nunes, Gundo, Lewis, Stones xmins increase?
Will Foden or KDB play deeper?

      1. Holmes
        • 12 Years

Avoid defense, yes. As long as Arsenal and Liverpool are ticking with CSs, there is not much use in paying premium for Man City's defenders, they also get rotated occasionally and attacking threat is limited.

Don't think Foden/Kevin will play deeper yet. Kovacic will probably be nailed now. Gundogan against easier opponents and Lewis/Stones against difficult ones makes sense.

Im torn between 2 WC teams. Feedback please:
    A:
    Raya, Fab
Trent, Gabriel, VD Berg, Keane, Faes
    Saka, Diaz, ESR, Mbeumbo, Sibling
    Haaland, Watkins, C-Lewin

    B:
    Raya, Fab
    Trent, Gabriel, Mazroui, Keane, Faes
    Saka, Palmer, ESR, Rogers, Sibling
    Haaland, Wood, Solanke

      So its:
      VDB, Diaz, Mbeumo, Watkins, DCL
      v
      Maz, Palmer, Rogers, Solanke, Wood.

I would lean B, but only because 3x4.0 DEF scares me too much. I would much rather a 4.5 to rotate there. I would prefer the other 4 from A, though - JUST. Bearing in mind thats my WC thoughts only, ideally on a WC you aren't picking many players for less than their next 6 games.

Spurs next 2 fixtures aren't ideal. But if you go cheaper than Solanke you are looking at 2 FT to get him back in later.

Saka is not essential and can be matched by other cheaper mids from teams with more cohesive attacks over the next 5 GWs. Discuss.

Fixtures have been tough but he's only scored once and is otherwise getting 1 assist a game, mainly from corners.

Fair. I am thinking it might be better to have say Havertz + Savio vs Saka + Wood. A bit of pep roulette but Man City's fixtures are excellent over the next 6-7 GWs.

I dont like Havertz without Ode in the short term, then fixtures turn I wouldnt want him over Saka.

biggest decision on my wc (and probably a few ...) is to pick between raya and havertz. i keep changing my mind! one minute it feels havertz is the best option as surely there is (are) haul in there against the next 3 teams, but also the lack of decent alternatives for keeper and seeing raya in nearly every draft ( i m a sheep) feels like raya is the best pick. i could also get watkins instead of havertz arrghh what are your thoughts? I need help please 🙂

I'm in a similar position. I keep leaning Raya, just because they alternatives just aren't as good.

I don't think it's the case that there are no decent GK alternatives. As mentioned in the article above, it's probably the game state after the Rice/Trossard red cards & (and the tricky fixtures) that have led to Raya having way more saves and bonus points than you'd expect. He has 24 saves / 7 save points already this season (3rd highest) compared to 47 saves / 5 save pts (22nd highest) across the whole of last season. Have Arsenal suddenly become a weaker defence? I don't think so. He will regress to scores capped at 6-7pts most games, and this just isn't the profile of a GK that scores a lot of FPL points.

Onana, Sels, Verbruggen, Muric and Pickford (once Branthwaite & Patterson are back soon) all look like better alternatives to me in the long run - decent defences but ones who still concede plenty of shots and tend have lots of low scoring games allowing for GKs to pick up BPS.

I'm also going for Havertz as 3rd Arsenal btw for the next 3. If, as I suspect, one of Timber/Calafiori now has a serious injury, I might consider picking up the other (fit) one if looking nailed at LB in a few weeks.
