Solanke. Forest & Brighton's defensive form is enough to put me off the idea a 2 week punt on Jackson. Man Utd also look fairly solid now tbf but Spurs have a way of creating end-to-end games and from GW8 the fixtures are really nice

Nope I haven't seen that game yet actually, just going largely off stats & the Man Utd / Arsenal games. You could well be right - I'm more confident in Forest's defensive form proving more sustainable of the 2 given the performances and stats under Nuno last season.

Yeah, often to my detriment. When a player's ownership gets so inflated that they do nothing for your rank, I always start looking at alternative ways to try outscore them & it doesn't usually end well. I do think I have a decent eye for spotting differentials but just tend to undo these small gains with massive losses on e.g. Kane 22/3, Haaland last year

      1. JT11fc
        • 7 Years
        1 year, 2 months ago

Ye Son over Kane is another, idk if its boredom or just wanting to be different, I have had success but normally it means getting clues of lack of confidence etc from the eye test rather then just stats and fear of going without

    Arsenal: over hyped fixture swing?

I’ve seen posts/comments about activating WC to take advantage of an Arsenal fixture swing in GW6. To me it looks like they have 3 good fixtures, then 3 harder fixtures. Fixture difficulty checkers, set at 6 weeks, say their fixtures are average.

I think there are fundamentally good FPL assets at Arsenal, I’m not debating that, but why are people significantly more attracted to them from GW6 than from GW1?

    1. Maddamotha
      • 9 Years

Next 3 are very good. With that being said, usually there is disappointment when everyone's saying you MUST have Arsenal players. We saw how it went with Salah the last 2, with great fixtures. With that being said, the potential to get a lot of points the next 3 for Arsenal players are quite significant, and worth the risk imo.

I agree with you, I think they have two great fixtures, away to Bou isn't great, then it gets tougher. Currently Saka isn't in my WC team

Arguably only two good fixtures as far as defensive assets go. Bournemouth has the fourth best xG in the league this season behind Liverpool, City, and Villa...

Also, Bournemouth and Iraola are not get the credit they deserve imo. They won one game in the first eleven GWs last season and looked set for relegation. Finished the season 22 points above the drop zone...

Had Havertz from GW1 but LEI/SOU back-to-back would draw me into investing in much weaker teams than Arsenal. Will probably move off double attack after GW8 but I'm on WC with 3 FTs rolled and a rubbish rank so it's definitely time to attack the short-term

  16. aapoman

Why are people so hot on Rico Lewis? Far from nailed and played in City's 2nd line-up yesterday. Are people backing that he won't get subbed off early in the odd game where he starts and might keep a clean sheet or get an attacking return? For me he seems like a player who starts 50% of the games and gets subbed off early in 50% of those OR is benched and gets subbed in late. Basically see him as a 4.7m 0-2 point machine.

    1. boc610
      • 13 Years
      1 year, 2 months ago

he has a few assists already this season, one last night and can play DM which he may have to with rodri out , guvardiol is the two point machine right now and cost 6m.

    2. pjomara
      • 15 Years

Without Rodri, Man City aren't going to keep too many clean sheets anyway.

    3. MARVELLUS
      • 16 Years
      1 year, 2 months ago

The other point for me is the alternatives to him. Regardless of fixtures, do not expect much from Bre/Eve/NFO defenders v few clean sheets around. Would rather have 6 1 points than 2 2. Got 90 mins the 1st free (although Walker wasn't ready). Walker getting older, Rodri, I am hopeful of a good amount of starts, with a good backup.

Salah + Dunk >> Saka + Gabriel worth a -4? Or just stick and do it for free after gw6?

Also, who will you rate as better asset for Pool:

    1) Diaz
    2) TAA (no attack)

For those looking for a cheapish striker who rotates well with Rogers, wolves have nice fixtures gws 10 11 and 13.

The run from 10-17 is delicious. Really want Cunha for that; even tinkering with him in now on WC

People doubling up on Arsenal attackers not worried that they haven't scored a goal from open play in their last 5 hours or so of football?

I'm still without any Arse but might go with Saka and Gabriel if both confirmed fit for the weekend.

Their corners are almost as dangerous as penalties and you are right, that's almost it for Arsenal without Odegaard and a proper striker.

Yeah I think the defensive double makes a lot more sense than the attacking one, at least until Odegaard is back

Not overly concerned. With the fixtures / RCs / lack of Ødegaard, I think those games have limited value as indicators of how they will set up / perform at home to promoted sides. Would have obviously preferred everyone fit & firing but I think I trust them enough to turn over LEI/SOU and score at Bournemouth.

I think I'm actually more concerned about rotation, e.g. Saka & Havertz coming off on 60mins or even at HT to keep them fresh for PSG, and seeing the attacking returns spread around too thin
